We tell stories about Bass Reeves, specifically
about how he got that pocket watch, and how
he escaped slavery and went off into Indian
Territory and about how Bass Reeves had to
take his own son in to be tried for murder.
Those are poignant moments within the storytelling
of this space, but we also talk about what
all these guys did after Oklahoma became a
state.
Right, so, we have Bass Reeves who became
a city policeman in Muskogee, but you also
have member of, colleagues of his that turned
into movie stars.
Currently in our possession, thanks to the
work Dave Kennedy did, we have the only digital
high-resolution copies of the movie by (deputy U.S.
Marshal Bill) Tilghman, two films that
we'll be presenting inside this space as a
loop.
We're not sit down and spend an hour watching
a film in here.
That would be a bad guest experience, right?
But the fact is that they went off and they
did a number of different things, and (inaudible)
to be able to tell those stories.
So, this is a piece of art that you've seen
before if you've been to these meetings, this
is the saloon.
Now the saloon is a very special place for
