How to Buy a Government Surplus Army Truck or Humvee - Dirt Every Day Extra

How to Buy a Government Surplus Army Truck or Humvee - Dirt Every Day Extra

MotorTrend Channel:

Dirt Every Day Extras go live every
weekday on Motor Trend On Demand here's
an example of an episode you missed last
week
this Dirt Every Day Extra I want to
talk to you about buying a government
surplus vehicle there's a company online
called Gov Planet and they also have a
sister company called Iron Planet and
what they do is they take in government
surplus vehicles put them up for auction
and people like you can bid on them now
what qualifies as a government surplus
vehicle it's pretty much anything that
the government no longer needs and is no
longer going to go to any of smaller
outlying government facilities so it
could be like an old golf cart it could
be this work truck that's full of a
bunch of lawn equipment a big old Deuce
and a half two and a half ton truck
Humvees they have tons and tons of
Humvees because they're getting
demilitarized and they're selling them
off to the public all the way up to
giant tank tank hauling trucks go
planet.com they you basically have to go
on you sign up you get a number and then
you watch the auctions they have
different auctions coming up throughout
the year and everything that you could
imagine the government has ever used
they're probably selling now I'm pretty
sure stuff like real tanks and jets and
weapons
you cannot buy through gov planet it's
all kind of like the the more useful
work trucks the Humvees you're not going
to get one with a machine gun on the top
and you can get a full variety of
Humvees and all these trucks some of
them are really beat-up because if you
think about it a lot of the guys in the
military like their young kids like you
watching this show they get into the
military they get to drive these things
sometimes they're a little rough on
equipment and some of the vehicles are
actually really really well maintained
I've seen vehicles with hardly any miles
hardly any hours on them all the way up
to stuff that is just destroyed but
that's the cool thing about Gulf planet
you go there it has a full description
somebody has inspected every one if the
thing doesn't run it says it right there
if it says it runs and drives that is
also there in the description so you can
get a chance to kind of look over all
these vehicles and it's not just
vehicles here in Barstow California
where we're at it's vehicle all over the
country factories all over the world
I've seen Unimogs in Guam and I've seen
big tank haulers in Pennsylvania and
tractors in Illinois and Texas and
Wisconsin they have so many auctions
going on simultaneously all over the
world that there's probably something
near you plus if you're interested in it
there's companies that will ship the
vehicle to you so you're kind of buying
these things semi sight unseen it's not
completely a blind auction because they
have a lot of photos it's not just one
blurry shot there's photos of the
interior the exterior under the hood and
there's a good description on every
vehicle that you'd be purchasing we are
taking home this Humvee for an upcoming
episode of dirt every day now the
Humvees are really cool because it's got
a diesel engine it's got an automatic
transmission full independent suspension
portal axles so they have a really wide
stance they're really kind of low to the
ground but they have a lot of ground
clearance
and it's kind of neat because I've never
I've driven a Humvee before I've never
really gotten to wheel one really hard
and so in this upcoming episode of dirt
every day which you can find on our
motor journal or YouTube we are going to
build this thing and we're going to take
it out rock crawling and really see what
type of abuse it can take but if you're
looking for a military surplus vehicle
like my Alabama army truck the one I've
built before I've even seen some jeeps
on there this gulf planet and iron
planet websites you have to go check
them out they have all types of really
cool stuff like a deuce enhance who
doesn't need a deuce in it so Unimogs
boats all types of equipment tires
machinery gov planet.com go check it out
that's different over to extras tune in
next time when we show you how to
spray-paint your truck camo
something like that if you need more

1st gen isuzu Dmax/Holden rodeo pick up 2002-2012 full vehicle tour/review

1st gen isuzu Dmax/Holden rodeo pick up 2002-2012 full vehicle tour/review

jaywalkur:

good day everyone today I'll be giving
you a tour of the first generation Isuzu
d-max I'll give you a full walk around
of the exterior I'll show you around the
interior and I'll also give you a
general overview of the vehicle the first
gen isuzu d-max was a pickup
truck sold between 2002 until
2012 Isuzu trucks
tend to have a long shelf life the previous
generation Isuzu LS was in the market
between 1988 until 2001 the d-max is
significantly bigger than the model it
replaced the Fuego The D-max is about
8.5 inches longer and about 4.3 inches
wider than the isuzu Fuego it is smaller
though than the second generation
navara The navara is about 14 inches
longer and about 2 inches wider the D-max
is sold in several territories but it
was never sold in the US isuzu abandoned
the US consumer market back in 2009 due
to lack of sales in Australia it's known
as the Holden rodeo it's also rebranded
as the Chevy Colorado in Thailand an SUV
version of the d-max was also released
in the Philippines it was called the
Altera
and other territories it is called the
Mu 7 or the M U 7 the d-max came in
several configurations single cab double
cab 4x4 2x4 this particular d-max
is mostly stock with the exception of
the front chin and the mesh grille the
d-max is not as big as some of its
competitors but it gives the illusion of
size the d-max has a very masculine
design language with its bulging fender
flares and its high ground clearance
it looks more massive than it actually
is
the d-max is powered by a 3 liter
4-cylinder turbo intercooled engine
which produces 146 horsepower and 266
pounds ft of torque It has common rail direct
fuel injection if you're one of those
people who prefer gasoline to power
their trucks this vehicle isn't for you
as there are no gasoline engine options
for the d-max
the d-max has a heavy-duty steel frame
chassis front suspension is independent
rear suspension is a solid rear axle
supported by leaf springs
The rear cargo bed is quite spacious
definitely a lot more spacious than the
Strada's the car has a pretty basic
interior mostly made of hard plastics
The car has power windows this power side mirrors
driver side and passenger side air
bags it has a 2din head unit of course
it has air conditioning
this particular car has 124k km on
the odo
storage space is adequate it has space
for a water bottle here there's storage
space and underneath the armrest
storage here
The car has fabric seats also fabric
sidings
this particular car has a five-speed
manual transmission rear passenger space
is pretty limited on the d max legroom
is particularly poor as expected of a
diesel truck it has loads of torque at
the bottom end about 266 pound feet of
torque that's enough torque that you
don't really need first gear when driving
this truck and although this is by no
means a sports car it has no problem
getting up to highway speed quickly
it feels pretty stable at speeds over
100 kph There's also surprisingly not a lot
of wind wise for a non aerodynamic
pickup truck ride quality is expectedly
poor especially if you don't have cargo
at the back this is a pickup truck with
a leaf spring rear suspension after all
I think one of the weakest points of the
d-max is its interior
it looks more dated compared to other
trucks from the same generation it's
also almost entirely made of hard
plastics and the fabric on the seats
makes me feel like I'm sitting in a 90's
Civic this d-max right here is not the
base model but the interior feels like
it this is a utility vehicle though not
a luxury vehicle so it's probably
forgivable the first gen d-max has been
out for a while and so far there have
been no major complaints about its
reliability whith the exception of the
power of window mechanisms which are
prone to failing Isuzu has a pretty good
reputation for reliability here in the
Philippines and the d-max seems to be
living up to that reputation in the
used market the D max sells a little
bit less than its Japanese competitors
the navara the Hilux and the strada the
d-max is a solidly built handsome
vehicle and that it's price point it's a
pretty sensible choice

Toyota Rush vs Mitsubishi Xpander vs Honda BR-V - AutoDeal Comparo

Toyota Rush vs Mitsubishi Xpander vs Honda BR-V - AutoDeal Comparo

AutoDeal.com.ph:

Okay, so this one has been a long time one
We've been dying to put these two cars against each other
But we figured even that wasn't enough
And not just by me
By a few people on the internet as well who are ready to hit me with a bat if need be
Heck even an immigration officer from Terminal three asked Vincent tonight when this shoot was gonna happen and to him I said soon
The rise of the seven theatre MTV's functionality versatility and popularity has brought soon today
And that's heavy
The seasoned veteran of the bunch the Honda brv made its debut on Philippine shores quite some time ago now with little
Changes since then it has become Honda cars Philippines incorporated second. Most popular car for 2018
the BRV is equipped with a 1.5 Ivy Tech that produces 120 horses and 145 Newton meters of torque this s
CVT modular is available at 1 million and 72,000 Philippine pesos, which goes to show if it ain't broke. Don't fix it
Hailing from the number one car company in the Philippines the Toyota rush or baby
Fortuna is some like to call it has quickly become a staple for Toyota on Philippine roads
under the hood is a 1.5 liter 4-speed automatic transmission that produces 102 horses and
134 Newton meters of torque this g variant is available at 1 million and 70,000 Philippine pesos
And I gotta say this thing looks good. And
now the
relative newcomer that started this delightful little true and I do mean delightful in every sense of the word the
Expander which are slowly but surely started to show its cuts and curves on Philippine roads ever since it made its debut in 2018
It's powered by a 1.5 liter four-speed automatic that produces 105 horses and 141 Newton meters of torque
This GLS sport variant is available at 1 million and 60,000 Philippine pesos
shiny, oh
And big huge ups to mitsubishi diamond motors incorporated for hooking us up with the expander
You guys are awesome people. It's good to have you at Auto deal
Of the three the BRV has probably got the most current look of them all
It's got a very calming and familiar face to it
The halogen headlamps the strong grille the fog lamps and LED DRLs pound directly underneath which are probably more
Style than functional especially when you're stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic in Metro, Manila
Now down the side. It's got skirts just like it does up front. It's got lines that are slightly elevated
repeaters on the side mirrors a slightly elevated roof rail and
16-inch mags that have 195 60s on
Now the rush on the other hand has a more advanced design a sort of peak in the next year's car today
It's got an art hood with waves on it a sleek
LED headlamps a grill with equal spaces and fog lamps to boot now down the side
It's got blinds that are much calmer. It's got Chrome on the windowsills repeaters on the mirrors body flushed roof rails and
to15 60s on Seventeen's
The most futuristic front clip of the bunch the
expander looks like it belongs in the halls of Tomorrowland with this dynamic shield design now a pop you've got
LEDs but on the bottom and all halogen affair from its headlamps that are stuck inside the bumper to its fog lamps down below found
by the skid plate
Now you can't miss the broad panels above the wheel wells. In fact, they probably dwarf the lines on the sides
you've got chrome accents on the sill chrome accents on the mirrors which have repeaters as well and it sits on six teens that have
205 55
all three models offer almost the same amount of space when the third row is in play which is to say in the region of
220 liters the layout after the third row has been folded is where it differs in
The BRV with the third row folded you can fit two Matic Mayan boxes snug, but they do fit
There are some air pockets that can be found in the back
But that's mainly for the floor mounts of the chairs and the side panels on the doors
But really to buttock buying boxes will definitely fit without impeding the view of the driver impressive
The rush to folds in the same movement but offers even more space
To Banach by inboxes and not a pro and enough space to fit our bulky camera equipment and a beer for Vincent
very impressive the
Expander on the other hand differs because the seats fold flush
allowing you to maximize the space in the cargo hold which can fit to buttock bayern boxes five gallons of water our
Camera equipment our audio equipment a beer for Vincent. And of course a
beer for yours truly
Most impressive oh and because we can night shot
I just love doing that
The third row on all three cars have pretty much the same level of comfort good for Jones
jump seats for two smaller sized individuals five six and below and cupholders on either side plus the rear speakers now, so
Asking someone six feet tall to demonstrate how to get in and out
Plus it recline and test the third row of all three cars is a bit of a hassle especially under this heat
But it sure is funny to see him try
The BRV has no toys to speak of here in the second row no center armrest
Just bottle holders on either door your standard air and air controls can be found on the ceiling which really can be found on all
Three cars however, the amount of headroom and legroom is massive and very very impressive
There is also very limited bolstering on the shoulders which makes getting in and out the car much easier
Especially for senior citizens and I must mention that the seat material on this car. Will it kind of resembles corduroy?
It's a trip really however not as warrant, which is nice
The rush has a pair more cup holders and a pair more speakers that can be found for the rear cabin
It also has a 12 volt socket. We found the back and the bolstering on the seats are ever so little now the Headroom is
Acceptable and the legroom much more legroom
however
Might be compromised by the third passenger
If you do decide to take one because they will have to compromise for the tunnel in the center
Lastly there are these plastic accents that can be found on the door and the white ones some people like it. I'm
Not so sold on it. Really
It does have a center armrest
I'll give it that but here in the back the expander has no other toys other than the bottle holders on each door
however
You do have excellent head and legroom losses for much taller passengers and there are bolsters for your shoulders
And the accents on the door not too shabby
The seasoned veteran Believe It or Not has got the most advanced interior
three cylindrical gauges two of which are analog and one digital trip computer a
7-inch infotainment system with a USB input which fits very nicely into the dash
I might add a well-groomed set of air controls a 12 volt socket five bottle holders for the front seats
All the controls in the steering wheel and a pair of airbags. It does have a reverse sensor
However, it is unfortunately devoid of a reverse camera and push-button start
However, this thing can still keep up with the new kids on the block
a
BS electronic brake distribution Hill Start Assist and Vehicle Stability assist all complement the B RVs module
Now when you do get inside the driver seat of the rush, you will notice that there is a constant lumbar support art
which might take some time to get used to once you do, however
the seats are pretty comfortable and very well bolstered a pair of analog gauges flank a digital trip computer a
7-inch infotainment system with USB and auxiliary
inputs that fits very well into the dash our diverse camera, very simple air controls 12 volt socket a total of
Seven bottle holders upfront audio and phone controls on the tilt steering wheel and a push start button
This thing has got six airbags found all around
6:00
Now again with the white plastic accents just like the back. I'm really not so sold on it
it kind of breaks the whole flow of the car and this gear level to
Kind of skin reminds me of slim from a bug's life
Alright other tech on the rush includes ABS electronic brake distribution Hill Start Assist and vehicle stability control system now
The expander has got a notch up on average when it comes to the interior
Same deal with the gauges there analog but in the center, you'll find a multicolored trip computer
7-inch infotainment with a reverse camera three notch air controls USB and auxiliary inputs beside the 12 volt socket
cubbyholes with a nice retracting cover
six bottle holders in total up front audio and phone controls on the tilt and telescopic steering wheel a pair of airbags and
A push-button start you've also got nav and cruise control very nice touch
What isn't such a great touch are the smudge magnets found on the steering wheel and on the gear lever nothing great
Really nothing spectacular however, like the accents on the doors in the back
The actions can be found on the doors up front and on the dash and they are
choice.this
Expander GLS sport also comes equipped with ABS electronic brake distribution hill-start assist and active Stability control
The first thing that hits you when you get inside the PRV, it's how comfortable you are when you're sitting inside
It's got the lowest seating position and really when you're driving either inside the city or outside the city
It is very stress-free because it feels like you're really driving a car
NVH might need a little help see the cabin noise does creep up on you, especially at high speed
in fact
you might actually turn around and look at the rear windows to see if they're actually open when you're driving so that
Could use of help
Now the most impressive thing about the brv is the combination of the Ivy Tech and the CVT
It produces the most horsepower. It produces the most torque and yet it's still the most fuel efficient of the three coming in at
18.1 km/h
I'm not gonna light it with a cabin full getting to speed that engine will get very very loud
But since it does have the highest output, do you know that you get there the fastest?
Now the rush is the only body on frame chassis in this compare Oh apparent with its high ground clearance
Unfortunately, that means that handling isn't its best suit because the back has to be very bouncy and it does have slight body
Roll when you're going through tight turns
Insulation may need a little bit of help engine noise will definitely creep in
Especially on the highway when you hit a hundred kilometers per hour and your engine revs are at 3,000 rpm
Though still 3,000 rpm it's still able to produce 16 kilometers to a liter and the transmission shifts. Very very well
Amongst the three the rush has the highest seating position
Others might find that to be a problem because they might have a hard time
Getting the right driving position while others will probably welcome it like myself
Because then it gives you a sense of security and a better view of the room
Now when the cabin is full
Your right foot yes will turn to lead to be able to muster all the horses that you can get your foot on to be
Able to get this thing moving, but worry not you'll eventually have to speed
The expander is certainly the most planted amongst the three the steering is right most of the time and it is
Also the lightest amongst the three now the monocoque chassis minimizes body rolls
So that the spirit of driving that you want to do when you get out of town. Yeah, that's a lot of fun
Now while the expander is a 4-speed automatic
It does do its best to be able to maximize the engine power that it does have
Being able to produce sixteen point twelve kilometers per litre. It's quiet and very nice on long drives. Oh and the cruise control
Yeah, that's a huge plus
Now the seating position of the expander is neither the highest nor the lowest amongst the three it slots in just in the middle the
Bonus is is that it does have a telescopic steering wheel
Which means you can get that much closer to your perfect driving position now with the full cabin
The expander is still fun to drive. I'll be if the engine is probably having a harder time getting
You going but again it is a 1.5 liter after all this is an expander. Not an Evo
Now while all of these cars have promos available on the audio
Website now comes the difficult part like the Highlander there can be only one right? Well, it's not that easy
Every family or every driver has different needs catered by different cars
There is no one perfect car for everybody in the expander
You've got technology such as nav and cruise control plus all that space in the back. You can do whatever you want with it
That's pretty awesome in the rush looks alone. Pretty awesome high ground clearance LED lights and six. Yes six airbags
Not bad in the B RV. You've got a CVT with the highest power output and the best fuel economy. So
What's it gonna be? Not that I'd mind giving it to all three simultaneously
But personally, I'm gonna go for the expander
The tech for me and the space for my family is really what gets me sold plus at a price point
that is more affordable than the competition and it drives more planet - now the real winner here could actually
Beat the dealer that calls you back first because these guys are a hot commodity
You

How Durable is a BULLET PROOF Car?!

How Durable is a BULLET PROOF Car?!

JerryRigEverything:

Today is going to be super exciting.
Bulletproof cars have been around for a while.
Today we're going to see how durable a bulletproof
car really is.
We have governments, we have the president
of the United States, we have famous people,
and a lot of them use bulletproof cars for
protection.
And today we're going to see how durable the
glass is, how durable the paneling is inside
those doors, and we're going to do it in real
life with real guns.
Now if you don't like guns, that's fine, we're
also going to focus on the construction of
the bulletproof paneling Let's get started.
[Intro]
Before we destroy anything, let me show you
what we're working with.
A company called Armor Max here in Utah was
nice enough to donate some glass panels for
us to shoot.
And we have two glass panels here today.
One is for a smaller caliber gun, like a little
pistol, like a 9 millimeter.
And the other piece of glass is for a larger
caliber rifle like the one I used in my bump
stock video, the AR 15.
So it really just depends on how much protection
you want for your vehicle.
This is the 9mm that we'll be shooting at
the glass.
And this is the thinner pane.
And then over here we have the AR 15 with
the bump stock attached.
We're just going to be shooting single rounds
today though.
You can see the larger caliber here, and how
thick the pane of glass is compared to the
lower caliber.
But really all of this stuff is completely
customizable.
Like the president's motorcade here in the
United States uses about double this thickness
of glass inside.
It really just depends on how much protection
you want, and how much you're willing to spend.
As far as weight goes, when they're bulletproofing
a car with the smaller caliber, you know,
bulletproofing it for a hand gun, it usually
adds anywhere from 400-500 pounds give or
take the protection you want.
But if you're going to fully rifle proof your
car, you can add anywhere from 500 all they
way up to maybe 12 or 13 hundred.
Your gas mileage might go down slightly, but
sometimes that's a good trade off for the
protection it offers.
So gun ranges are actually pretty cool.
So right here we have different slots.
Gun safety is a pretty big thing when you're
at a gun range.
Each of these little cubicles keep, you know,
the bullets that are ejected out of the gun,
they keep it from hitting your neighbor.
And then as we walk down range...right now
it's safe because there's no one out shooting
in here.
This is one of the pieces of glass that we're
going to be shooting at.
So we have it propped up.
We have some of these little green targets
right here just so we have something to aim
at while we're shooting.
And then we also have one little melon right
behind it.
So if the bullet goes through the bulletproof
glass, which it shouldn't, we'll know for
sure.
Now down here at the end of the range is something
that not a lot of people see.
This is what directs the bullets into this
channel down here at the end so that they
can recycle all of those bullet tips because
there's a lot of metal in a bullet and it's
always good to recycle.
So you can see here all of these little markings
are little bullets that have hit this metal
panel right here and then rickashayed up there
into that little slot so they can collect
them and recycle them.
Alright, so we're going to start with the
9mm hand gun first.
We're going to shoot that pane of glass right
down there.
Let's do it.
[Gunshot] Oh man!
That looks sweet.
Let's go take a closer look.
Check this out!
Oh man, that's so cool.
You can see the impact point right here.
You can see a little bit of remnants of like
the metal in the tip of the bullet.
And then it like absorbed the impact and fractured
all the way around this outside.
So here on the backside it's still 100% completely
smooth.
My fingers aren't catching on any of the glass
layers on the back of this.
If you are sitting inside of this car with
this window, you would still be totally fine.
Now these layers of bulletproof glass are
actually layers of glass and plastic stuck
together.
So it will actually be interesting to see
what kind of penetration we can get when we
start shooting the rifle on the AR 15.
But half an inch stopping a bullet...that's
pretty impressive.
So we have the cameras set up and our safety
gear on.
We're going to shoot that same piece of glass
a couple more times with the 9mm and see how
well it stands up to multiple shots.
Alight, so safety gear is on.
I imagine if you're being shot at inside of
a car it's not going to be just one bullet.
There are going to be multiple.
So I'm going to empty this full magazine into
the glass and see what happens.
Ready?
[Gunshots] Sweet!
That was fun.
Okay, so check this out.
It looks like I hit this part multiple times.
I think there was an impact point here, here,
here, here and here.
As the outside structure of the glass is compromised,
it removes the outer layer but the inner layers
are still fine.
You can see like this divot right here.
If the glass is an inch thick, this probably
went through about half an inch of that but
it still survived...I mean how many shots
was that, like 6?
So if we go back here to the back of the glass,
you know, feeling the back of it, there's
nothing catching on my hand, but as I move
my hand over this I can feel like a slight
indention and I imagine that's like the plastic
layer bulging out just a tiny bit.
Ummm, agh!
[Dan] Yeah, careful, I just did that.
[Zack] I got glass in my finger.
Alright, so we're not going to touch the glass
anymore.
When the bullet hits, there's so much energy
in that bullet, it impacts the glass obviously,
and the glass distributes the impact over
the whole thing.
So not everything you see in Hollywood it
truthful because if a bullet hits a car it's
going to shatter the exterior layer of the
ballistic glass at least.
Alright, so we have a new glass in place and
this one is an inch and a half thick, so it's
going to need the AR 15, the higher caliber
bullet.
And we'll see if that melon survives.
Alright, so the safety is now off.
And full disclosure, I have not sighted this
gun, so if I miss first shot...
[Gunshot] Oh wow!
Okay, so that was pretty sweet.
So the impact of that bullet hit right here
in the center and we can already see...like
this is an inch and a half thick.
You can also see the divot from the glass,
you know, separating from the point of impact.
The energy, instead of going forward, it immediately
stops the forward energy and disperses it
in the outward glass.
And these cracks look freaking incredible.
And this is the size of the bullet that hit
that center impact part, right there.
And I think this is one of those plastic layers
inside.
Let's see if we have any damage on the back.
That's sweet.
There's no damage on the back of this thing.
So if you were sitting inside of this car,
you would be completely safe from someone
shooting an AR 15 at your window.
So everything that's manufactured has like
a rating to it.
So this piece of glass is certified for 5
bullets, but Armor Max has shot this thing
20 times and it still survived which is pretty
darn impressive.
So we just finished shooting the ballistic
glass.
We're still going to shoot some of the ballistic
armor panels here in a second, but let's check
out the laboratory of Armor Max first and
see how all of this stuff is put together.
And there's actually quite a lot that goes
into this.
So this stuff right here, this is like a little
bomb proof blanket that can actually sit down
underneath the carpet inside of the car.
So like if a grenade or something is rolled
underneath the vehicle, you know, it's full
of kevlar and stuff and stops the explosion
from coming up inside of the cab.
Now normally, when you're sitting inside of
a car, you're hidden and protected by the
door and the window.
So that's like one of the most important parts
of bulletproofing a car is the glass and the
door panels.
So this is a land cruiser right here, and
this is the bulletproof glass, the same stuff
that we were shooting at earlier.
You can kind of tell how thick this panel
is.
But because of the weight of the bulletproof
glass, they actually have to stick new motors
inside of the door.
So these are specialized motors that can lift
the 60 pound slab of glass.
So the slab of glass will protect the top
half of the person, and the rest of the door
is fitted with these bulletproof panels here
inside.
We haven't shot any of these panels yet, but
I'll make sure we get a chance before we leave.
So we talked about how to protect the driver
inside, and now here in the front, protecting
the engine is another important concept.
So here we have bulletproof panels that are
set at an angle and go all the way down in
front of the radiator cuz the radiator is
what keeps the engine cool.
And if you're radiator is bleeding out then
your car is not going to go very far.
So these bulletproof panels right here are
pretty important.
There's also the same bulletproof panels that
we have inside of the metal panels here inside
of this, as well as protecting the firewall
between the engine and the passenger compartment.
And then here we have a few more bulletproof
panels protecting the battery, cuz also without
the battery you're not going to be going very
far.
Another bulletproof panel here protecting
the air intake.
And inside of the tires they have something
called a run flat, which is basically a metal
band on the rim of the tire that sticks up
past the rim.
So even if there's no air in your tire and
the tire's technically flat, you'll still
be able to drive on that metal rim inside
of the actual tire.
So like I mentioned before, there are a couple
different packages that Armor Max offers.
And so this is one of them here.
It's like an optional piece.
This has that like bulletproofing rounds cuz
this is one of the weakest points when a door
is closed that if bullet pierces right here
your head is still going to be on the other
side.
So this just adds another layer of protection.
You'll have bulletproof glass on the windshield.
For that 20-25,000 dollars all of the main
things will be protected, you know, you inside
of the cab.
But it can go anywhere from 70,000 all the
way up to the top with Armor piercing rounds
and stuff like that.
It has, remember that 2 inch thick piece of
glass?
If you have that installed in your door panel,
obviously the windows aren't going to work
anymore, but that's the most protection that
you can have while you're driving.
So one of the things when you're adding so
much more weight to the vehicle, like those
panes of glass weigh a lot, it's anywhere
from 500 to 1,000 pounds, maybe a little over
that.
Sometimes they have to upgrade the suspension
as well.
So this suspension is calibrated for the extra
weight and it will still ride the same, you
know, just as smooth as a stock vehicle, even
though this one's completely bulletproof.
So this isn't a sponsored video, I just thought
it was pretty cool technology.
And this company, Armor Max, has been in business
for over 25 years.
They've had over 250 known attacks on their
vehicles but no one has died from being shot
through the Armor on their vehicles.
So it's pretty good stuff.
But it's also interesting to know that this
stuff does happen.
Like there are dangerous places in the world.
So seeing how the technology is able to protect
people is pretty interesting.
If everyone could just be nice to each other,
companies like this wouldn't need to exist.
But since there's niceness problems in the
world, here we are.
This car right behind me actually has electrified
door handles.
Dan doesn't know yet, from the YouTube channel
What's Inside.
So I'm going to tell him to open up the door
to see what's inside of the car and see what
happens.
See what he says about the steering wheel.
[Dan] Oh!
Is this the shock door?
Is this this shock door?!
Ahhh!
You almost got me!
[Zack] Do it anyway, do it anyway!
[Dan] I don't want to get shocked!
[Zack] You gotta do it!
[Dan] I'm going in!
Is it going to hurt?
[Zack] It's going to hurt.
[Dan] I can't do it!
Ahh!
Okay, I feel it, I feel it!
It shocked me!
[Zack] So there was a button back here that
he just pushed...no way, check this out!
So this is like...you can drop this behind
you like if someone's chasing your car.
That's hilarious.
So literally, if someone's chasing you, you
can drop this little compartment in the back
and these things fall out.
They will like puncture the tires of all the
cars that are behind you.
That's awesome.
So it's pretty sweet.
So one of these buttons right here, he just
had them labeled, so one of them is dropping
the tacks, you know, the things in the road.
And the other one, this is the one that electrifies
the door handles.
So obviously as the car is driving these will
be bouncing on the road behind and disperse
all over the lanes, and then this box right
here just folds up and clicks shut.
Now he's got to figure out how to stick these
all back in there and get it locked and loaded
for the next guy.
Okay, so since Dan wouldn't really grab the
doorknob, I'm going to give it a shot.
I've been tased before with that little case,
but I think this one's a little bit higher
voltage and I am super nervous right now.
This is not something I planned on doing today.
Are we good?
Did you get it?
Okay, so I felt a tingle from the tip of my
finger all the way up to about here.
So I'm going to try it again.
Oo yeah.
You can feel it all the way up your arm.
It's stronger than that cell phone case that
I reviewed a while back, you know, the taser
cell phone case.
It's not something I want to do for a long
period of time.
When the car is actually turned on and the
engine is running, there's way more current
going through that.
So what I was able to do right there would
be completely different if the car was on.
So here's a close up shot of those electrified
door handles.
You can see the copper strips on the inside.
So any time someone just reaches in and grabs
these, grabbing the copper, it will jolt their
whole arm...like you saw earlier.
Alright, so we've seen the cars and we've
seen the glass, now we're going to shoot at
some of the Armor Max paneling that goes inside
of the car doors.
Now this stuff is lighter than steel, which
makes it ideal for putting in cars because
the more weight you have in a car, the more
the gas mileage goes down and the slower it
gets.
So lightweight cars are good.
But this stuff is actually so light that they've
stuck it in helicopters, the ones in South
Africa, the anti-poaching helicopters, which
is pretty sweet.
So this piece right here is for the larger
caliber rifles, but we also have this smaller
piece of Armor Max material that stops 9mm
hand guns.
So let's shoot both of these right now and
see what happens.
So this square panel, this is the Armor Max
3.3, it's the same stuff they stuck on the
anti-poaching helicopters.
We're going to shoot it with a 9mm and see
what happens.
Let's try it out.
[Gunshot]
So the bullet traveled, punctured into here
and then traveled up inside of it.
Because apparently there are 156 different
laminate layers inside of this thing keeping
the bullets from penetrating to the important
stuff on the other side of the material.
So we're going to empty the rest of the magazine
inside of my 9mm and see what happens with
the rest of the bullets.
And then we'll switch to the bigger caliber
guns.
Alright, so there are about 5 more shots in
this.
We're going to put all of them straight into
the material and see what it looks like after
we're done.
[Gunshots]
That is crazy.
It looks like there is absolutely no damage
done to this, but you can see tiny little
pinpricks where each of the bullets hit.
And all of the bullets have been captured
inside of the material.
That's a 9mm bullet, you know, the smaller
ones.
Now we're going to try the AR 15, and that
should make a mark.
Okay, so this is the AR 15.
The safety is now off.
Let's see what happens.
[Gunshots]
So looking at the outside, seriously, there
are seriously no marks on the material which
is like incredible.
But here on the backside you can see a small
little divot where the bullet hit.
So it's just like this little tiny bulge.
Personally, I would feel super safe inside
of a helicopter or a car with this lightweight
material inside of it protecting against the
bullets.
Even with an AR 15, stopping that much power
is incredible.
So this piece of material is rated, you know,
within a 5 inch radius it can be shot 3-5
times and still maintain it's structural integrity.
But when you're in a moving vehicle and somebody
is shooting at you, which does happen, Armor
Max has had cars with like 100 shots in them.
The bullets are all spread out.
Like no one's going to consistently shoot
in one spot over and over again.
So overall today was a pretty fun day.
You know, shooting guns is always a fun hobby
for me, and whether you like guns or you don't
like guns, it's still fun to see the science
and technology behind armored cars and armored
helicopters.
I did not know that they armored those and
anti-poaching helicopters in Africa.
If you have any questions, leave them down
in the comments.
I'm sure I could be back here later to answer
those questions or to blow up something else.
Come hang out with me on Instagram and Twitter.
And thanks a ton for watching.
I'll see you around.

HKS Straight Pipe Exhaust , How it sounds on my Car

HKS Straight Pipe Exhaust , How it sounds on my Car

Daily Tech Prince:

Hey guys, it's Prince here many of you asked me to show a full video of my curse so here
It is and in this video
I am going to show you the sound of straight pipe on this car. This is Honda City aspire one point five
This is famous car in Pakistan here
Just some sports back lights
And aspire one point five
I've attacked prismatic
Moving to the front I remove 17 inch wheels now using stock 15-inch wheels and
I'm using GoPro on wide-angle
Definitely don't forget to see the car headlights training video. I will link it in the description
Also got install this rubber lip yesterday, which is looking nice
And before showing you the straight pipe, and how it sounds let me first bring the intro clip
Okay now I'm gonna show you the straight pipe setup. Let's go to the back of the car
This is HKS exhaust which is going straight
And if you see under the car I removed the catalytic converter which is at the end of the exhaust and install this HKS exhaust
Let me show you from the middle from where I remove the stock muffler and install a piece of straight pipe
Here you can see the weld joints of the straight pipe
You can see it's going straight
And there is only one cat catalytic converter installed back there in the middle which has a oxygen sensor
And I didn't mess with it
So you can see there is only one exhaust installed in the back and
Now I'm going to show you the engine is not modified already move the air intake. Let's open the hood
You can see here, just Indian dressing no other modification
So now let's go inside the car and start it up
It's winter here, and that's why engine is cold
I'm gonna wait till the engine warms up to the operating temperature
Now the blue light is off, but the RPM is still at 1,000
It should be under 1000 like around 850 at idle state
So I guess I will just drive for a minute
Okay, now. I am back after driving one kilometer, and you can see clearly the RPM is at 800 something
I'm not sure, but it's less than 1000 so that's good
And now time to rev it, and show you how to surf
Let me set up the camera at the back, so you can hear the sound
Slow running in the store
And when you float it
Now another clip from my handycam, which has 5.1 surround mic. Maybe it will sound better. Let's see
Oh my god shaking
So now you heard the sound of straight pipe on SGS exhaust, I will tell you about my next videos, so let's open the hood
So my next video will be how to flush radiator coolant and clean it
And also how to remove and clean radiator reservoir
And I'm gonna show you in another video how to clean up serial sensor it will be interesting video and also how to clean catalytic
Converter without removing it
So let's start the car one last time from outside
And if you like this video, please give it a thumbs up don't forget to subscribe have a nice day and peace out
