Eliminacion de Coodigo 89 Chevrolet Sonic. No more code 89 in chevy sonic

Vive Tu Sonic:

friends welcome again to the
sonic chevrolet channel today we want
show them
how to solve a problem that is very
frequent in these vehicles the
thermostat and that does not appear in our
boards the code 89
in some occasions it appears to us so
soon we turn on the vehicle and we give
boot at other times the code
usually appears

while he is sending the break to

this case
once we start the vehicle and
we wait a few seconds
89 appears
see there is
What is it
the screen with the indicator of a
problem and here
the error code as I told you is
how to make the thermostat replacement
The motor fan should only start at
work when the engine reaches a
temperature
we have the congo 89
when when he
he is not fan as he told them
it will only start working when the
motor reaches an indicated temperature
then there is activated and works until
lowers the engine temperature and returns to
start your work your operation
normal
and as we see the embers just
we have
good friends once removed the
thermostat
this is the spare part always
recommendable
buy the original general motors
or Korean manufacturing import
German core does not matter but let it be the
original of general motors
generics as I said they commented
some previous videos come out very
defective
they keep the code 89 on the computer
of the car as we distinguish the original
not only because of the packing in packing in which he comes but that we have the letters of gm and in the
Part number and code of 0 32
in high relief
well in high relief does not come recorded not
comes to carve well is in high relief
the company that makes the thermos
I treat smuggle chevrolet and
then we will proceed to install it

As it is a totally new product,
We need to change the packaging
We limited to adding silicone and so on
The installation procedure is the
opposed to the withdrawal then what
we make
we place the piece in its place we put the screws that hold it to
base
very important that we leave them
only gave me positions
and then we go
securing
always diagonally
when we go to press
to give it the torque we do it one day
with the
if we start with the one on the top next
right we pass to the bottom the side
left after may be the one below
right side or the one on the top side left mystic that we place from above left side
and when we have them in place, it's
we proceed to give them torque
tighten them
this is a bull head
of 10 millimeters is the tool that
We need a long glass of something
that allows us to work intensively first

let's allow the one from the top to the side
left now let's go to the opposite
down
the right side
we calculate that the pressure is the same
that we left up on the left side
and then we move on to the other two
ah
and there with this one if we can get
continue giving the final touch

and we went to the other day a screw that
it's diagonal after the other two
and already with that wall and with that last
torque should already be our
thermostat well insured without presenting
some kind of refrigerant leak
sensor
and connect the sensor its position

we make sure it stays connected
we are removing for
work and connect the hose
that takes the coolant to the radiator
but do not stay well connected
we will proceed to adjust it with the
and with these simple steps, friends
we finished making ourselves the
replacement of the thermostat
with this, the
code 89
of our computers and should the
car go back to work
usually
doing
let's put it to work a few seconds
with the radiator tank open
we complete the coolant level
the one who lives will consume that was the
That
if the time to do the
replacement

and there we should have the car
but in the sense

good boys
As you can see, boys no longer
code 89 appears
and if we are going to look at the engine very
surely it is not on
fan motor let's review
good
hope ceni niebles was the
My subtlety will serve us well let's share with the same friends that
they have people but we do not turn off the vehicle
share it with the other friends that they have pains are and if they liked denle a like if they had not subscribed to the channel

we are attentive
thank you very much for watching the video and until the next

Chevy 1.8 Thermostat Housing Replacement (2012-2016) (Cruze, Sonic)

Chevy 1.8 Thermostat Housing Replacement (2012-2016) (Cruze, Sonic)

Garret Seesing:

My name is Garret Seesing and this is
lightning fix
That's a 2015 chevy sonic with a naturally aspirated 1.8 liter engine
This car has a P0128 code and a
moderate coolant leak
The coolant leak is coming from the thermostat housing
and coolant is pulling up on top of the transmission
This is what the thermostat
housing looks like
This is where the thermostat housing is located
Here's how you replace the thermostat housing

1.6 Ecotec Thermostat Replacement - Aveo, G3, Swift

1.6 Ecotec Thermostat Replacement - Aveo, G3, Swift

Lehew Tech:

what's going on guys I've got a 2009
Chevy Aveo it's got the 1.6 liter Ecotec
engine and I'm gonna be replacing the
thermostat today I'm doing this because
it's got a stored code
p0128 which means that the
coolant temperatures not getting hot
enough so most likely the thermostat is
stuck open. so in order to do this you're
going to need a new thermostat which
I've got here some sort of drain pan
under the car to catch the coolant you
will need a Torx a 10 and a 10
millimeter and a flathead screwdriver
so the first step I'm gonna start by
disconnecting the temperature sensor on
the top and in order to do that you just
squeeze the connector there and we get
that out of the way
I think I'm yeah I'm gonna go ahead and
remove this I guess that's a cam
position sensor I'm gonna go ahead and
disconnect that as well in order for me
to get to the sensor just a little bit
better yeah
now with the electrical stuff out of the
way I'm going to loosen this clamp, you may
have a spring style clamp on here I do
this first because once I unbolt the
thermostat it'll be hard to separate the
hose from it and a bunch of coolant is
going to come out which is what my drain
pans for so now we loosen the four bolts
that secure the thermostat to the
plastic housing
when you loosen these you want to push
you want to push the tool into the head
to prevent it from stripping all right
I've got everything loosened
I'm going to pull the bottom bolts out
first
I believe this parts been replaced
before definitely doesn't look factory
in fact it says Motorrad on the top
which is the same brand of thermoset
that I'm installing hopefully this new
thermostat proves to hold up a little
longer so yeah like I said I'm doing
this because of aP0128 code now
just because you have that code doesn't
mean you should replace your thermostat
the first thing you should do if you see
that is check your coolant level if your
coolant is super low till to the point
where none of the coolant even reaching
the temperature sensor you can make it
read low even though it's actually too
hot there we go pick out the final bolt
out now in order to separate this I'm
just going to grab it and yank straight
out make sure the thermostat comes out
with it
that's easy enough
now my surface looks good
now from here it's basically just the
opposite of everything I filmed so far
got the bolts all tightened up so now
I'm gonna reinstall all the electrical
stuff
all right
now once I tighten this down I can top
off the coin I'm gonna let it run a
while with the cap off generally what I
do when I replace thermostats is I run
them with the radiator cap off until I
have the heat on on the inside of the
vehicle and when I actually feel heat
coming out of the vents that's telling
me that the thermostats most likely
opened continuously top off the fluid
some cars have special leaders that you
have to open up this is not one of those
cars but I've got a 50/50 mix
we've got a 50/50 mix of coolant and
distilled water
hey can you start this for me
yeah
Thanks
leave it running
might be due for a flush
yeah that's about it I'm gonna let it
run for a while try to get the air
bubbles out before I take it on a test
drive and use the scan tool to make sure
that the coolant temperature gets to
where it needs to be but yeah let me
know down in the comments if you have
any questions

P0597 - THERMOSTAT HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
System: Vehicle Speed
The Diagnostic code P0597 OBD2 refers to a fault in the electronically controlled motor thermostat system.
Indicates that the control voltage is non-existent.
The thermostat has several load temperature sensors.
The function of the thermostat heater is to control the coolant flow, in addition to regulating the operating temperature of the engine.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) supplies 12 volts to the thermostat.
In case the ECM detects an incorrect signal coming from the thermostat, the DTC code P0597 OBD II is established.
Symptoms of the DTC code P0597 Generic
• Illuminated Check Engine light.
• The temperature indicator could give an excessively high reading if the thermostat failed in the closed position,
and the temperature drops if the thermostat failed in the open position.
Causes of DTC code P0597 Generic
The DTC code P0597 OBDII means that one or more of the following problems has happened:
• A thermostat connector may be corroded or loose.
• A possible refrigerant leak.
• The cables between the ECM and the thermostat may be defective.
• The thermostat may have failed.
Possible solutions of the DTC code P0597 Generic
For a correct correction of the fault code P0597 OBD2 you must do the following:
• Inspect the coolant level in the radiator.
If the level is low, the electronic thermostat may have overheated.
• Remove the thermostat's electrical connector and check its status.
If you have corrosion, you must eliminate it.
When connecting again make sure it is adjusted.
• Check the resistance values of the thermostat.
You should compare the results with a service manual.
If these do not match, proceed to replace the thermostat.

P0016 P0017 Chevy 2.4 How to fix "Camshaft Position Correlation code"

P0016 P0017 Chevy 2.4 How to fix "Camshaft Position Correlation code"

The Flat Rate Mechanic:

All right today, we're working on a
2011 Chevy
Malibu with a 2.4 liter, and this is setting a poo16 and a p0017
Camshaft Position Correlation. camshaft actuator solenoids
On this one we actually came in with low engine oil
So we started by changing the oil bring it up to level, but that didn't help at all
Continuing to test the camshaft actuator solenoids themselves and they both tested good
So I hooked engine vacuum gauge up to it and verified this engine has low vacuum which is a easy way to tell
if the vehicles is out of time
And as you can see here another valve valve cover pulled off and there's a lot of extra play in that timing chain
And I'll show you why later on in the video here, but let me show you how I tested this camshaft solenoid
First off, I'm gonna pull it out here and check for the debrie in the screen
and
As you can see let me zoom in a little closer here
As you can see those little specks of metal in there, I'm gonna show you where those came from
later on the video here and
The timing chain
Right there, that should have a plastic nylon guide on top of that which is missing
So the chains actually been rubbing on that metal
Going to bring this cam shaft actuate over to the bench, and we're gonna bench test it
Make sure I'll make sure the plunger is working properly all I'm gonna do for this is take a power probe
which I'll leave a link in the description to
power this up make sure the plunger is moving back and forth properly you'll be able to hear it click
You'll also be able to see it if you look in there with a flashlight
We can also on
Check this you can check the resistance of it the specs should be between 8 and 13 ohms, so that's that expected
I don't want to replace it also
you want to clean up any debris that you find on the screen here as you can see we have metals break and
That metal debris is actually from that chain
riding against that chain
guide would know with no nylon bushing on it, so
Let me see if I can get the camera down there, so you guys can see a little better
Yeah, so right inside there there should be a nylon bushing that's completely missing
So that chains been slapping up and down on that causing small metal fragments get inside the motor and
On those very old valve timing
actuators
So this is what's causing our
P0016 p0017 Camshaft Position Correlation is this engine is actually out of time due to failed
timing chain guides
Will probably get up new actuate new actuators in it to an engine flushed and do the timing chain with all new guides
I'll also leave a link in the description to other videos on vary valve timing actuator testing
but
Be sure to hit the thumbs up button and subscribe to my channel for weekly
new videos
Thanks again flat rate mechanic
Thanks for watching my video on camshaft position correlation

Highlighted Part: Coolant Thermostat Housing Assembly for Select Chevy Models

DormanProducts:

Dorman is excited to announce a new OE fix for coolant thermostat housing assemblies.
Now available for Chevy Cruze, Sonic and Trax applications from 2016 to 2011.
Original engine thermostat housings typically require replacement
due to their plastic construction, small diameter tube and poor gasket groove.
Dormans OE fix addresses these common failures
by upgrading housing material from plastic to metal
to prevent warping and premature failure of the gasket or seal area
for a longer and reliable service life.
Additionally, this new design features an integrated sensor,
a new thermostat and gasket for a complete and convenient repair.

How to Replace a Starter Solenoid : Diagnose a Car Starter's Command Wire

How to Replace a Starter Solenoid : Diagnose a Car Starter's Command Wire

expertvillage:

In this clip, we are going to talk about the
proper service procedure in order to diagnose
remove and replace your vehicles starter solenoid.
In this step we are going to talk about what
starter solenoid is and the proper way to
diagnose the command wire from your ignition
switch. Your stater solenoid is a very heavy
duty switch. Now what it does is, it takes
the load off of your ignition switch to turn
your starter. Your starter is going to run
off several hundred amperes of power. If that
was loaded through a very small wire and through
your ignition switch that would burn it up
almost immediately. So what they do is they
use this command wire, which runs right from
your ignition, to this heavy duty switch.
It commands your solenoid to engage the positive
from your battery to the positive side of
your starter, thus engaging the starter motor.
In order to diagnose the rest of the system
and make sure it is actually getting the command,
what you do is you remove the command wire,
you insert your test light into it, and you
hook the other lead up to the negative. From
there you?re going to hop in the vehicle and
turn the ignition key to the crank position;
all the way turned. Now as you can see, the
light lit up. Go ahead and cycle it a few
times. What that does is test the circuitry
from this wire from the very point of the
solenoid all the way back through the relays
and to the ignition switch itself. That is
the functionality of a starter solenoid and
the proper way to diagnose the command wire.

Quitar volante y airbag de Chevrolet Sonic en 6 minutos. Remove steering wheel

Vive Tu Sonic:

you do not need a complex team of
tools with these simple
tools we can disarm the first thing
what you have to do is turn it around
complete at the wheel
since in the back there are two
holes let's see if I can
show those two holes
this
and this
out there we're going to put
a screwdriver
and we're going to pry out to
the center to be able to release the air
out towards the center
we introduce
and outside while we pry
we pull in grace out
and already released
in the other hole

out
perfect

there the air is loose
it should be mentioned that before starting
the process disconnect the battery and leave
the car without battery more or less 20
minutes for the trainers of the
airbag will be deactivated leave in total
that will stay totally in stream
good to disconnect the airbag what
we do is lift this first piece
so come out and with a screwdriver
we push these two tabs towards
inside and we pull up the
piecita on both sides
inwards the eyelash is pushed and
ready saleand he is out there

like the air
look how is the procedure these
eyelashes push inward and pull all the spare doing the same
we also disconnect the pacha with the
control of the lights good let's compare a
prompter

with lightning
and we will force him to let go and
we started to rotate highlight in the
screw
we went out
well what I'm going to do is to
ensure the alignment I notice here
there is a brand
both in the thread and that I had
brought corrector to be able to align
perfect but there is not a marquita here
I like this
now if we proceed to
pull it out and it's simply to move sideways to

side the flyer on the top in the bottom part so little by little until

what comes out

I'm not going to risk moving this piece
so I'm going to make a little
and how's it going because if you get to move it
in the bar

this can move whatever you want already
we know what your position is
perfect we have the steering wheel on the outside
how can you appreciate
now we will make the upholstery
