The Tahoe 450 TS is a brand new, compact but
peppy boat that is one metric ton of fun to
drive. Easy to trailer because of its size,
it's no minimalist effort on the water, thanks
to the powerful Mercury 115 horsepower engine.
This is one of Tahoe's brand new outboard
offerings and features a deeper, wider and
longer hull. That means this is a very dry
running boat even if you find yourself in
choppy conditions. The new hull design is
stable but fast, with the 115 horsepower Merc
I pushed it to just under 45 miles per hour
and cruised very comfortably at a peppy 35
miles per hour. Cruising closer to 30 may
be more comfortable or with more weight in
the boat. It pops on to plane quickly with
a 3 second hole shot as a solo driver, and
fully loaded it will be up and running in
a still impressive 6.5 seconds. This size
boat is what I grew up on, boating at the
cottage and running around on the lakes of
Ontario, but this water here on the Arlington
River at the north end of Lake George in Florida
is bigger and busier water. Even still the
450 TS is confident and smooth through turns
and cuts through wakes easily, proving to
be a dry ride with no rattles that older boats
often have. The high wind screen wasn't as
much of a concern on a hot test day in central
Florida at noon, but further north where the
season starts and ends quite cool, it will
be a very welcome feature. So the Tahoe 450
TS is a lot of fun to drive but now that we're
back in the comfort of this shade from the
boat house let's have a look at some of the
comforts on board. Starting with the bow,
the wider and deeper hull means even with
the traditional styling and look of a smaller
boat you get plenty of seating up here. Bucket
seats mid ship that look race car inspired
offer comfort and stability, and on the port
side access to stereo controls and a glove
box, inside of which you'll find an mp3 input
and a 12 volt power source. The helm controls
from gauges to steering wheel also have the
race car feel, upping the sporty look of the
450 TS. In between the bucket seats is a large
hatch revealing a roomy in floor ski locker.
Spacious and accessible storage is found in
the combings, right beside more cup holders.
Grab handles and speakers are on both port
and starboard sides of the rear bench seating
which, like all the seats, are colour matched
to the hull. The bench access is as clever
as it is sharp looking. The starboard side
cushion flips up on its own or with the large
middle cushion you can flip both up, giving
access to the full sized cooler. The transom
sun pad cushions fold up and flip up and can
be unhooked from the transom locker storage
doors. Flanking the outboard motor are dual
swim platforms that have plenty of room to
lounge on and dangle your feet in the water
with the starboard side offering a deep reaching
telescoping ladder. The brand new Tahoe 450
TS is a great boat if you're looking for something
you can trailer or something to be the perfect
runabout for the cottage. No matter why you
want it, you'll be happy you have it.

The crossover revolution has brought about
some excellent vehicles but that unibody solution
isn’t for everyone. Which is why it’s
nice to see venerable SUVs like the Chevy
Tahoe continue to be given new life.GM could
have done something drastic here; perhaps
move the Tahoe off of its truck frame, maybe
go to a turbo V6, but they didn’t. But because
it’s the best-selling full-size SUV, this
redesign doesn’t stray too far from the
Tahoe families and boat owners have come to
love. Despite its more chiseled appearance
and projector-beam headlamps, you still instantly
recognize it as a Tahoe. Aerodynamics have
been improved while aluminum is utilized for
the hood and liftgate for weight savings.Of
course, there’s still a small block V8 under
the hood. But it now incorporates active fuel
management, direct-injection and variable
valve timing to help improve highway mileage
by about 10%.Making more power – now cranking
out 383 pound feet of torque and 355 horsepower
– this 5.3L EcoTec3 engine is rated at 16mpg
city/22mpg highway for this 4WD model, running
on regular unleaded, about 30% less on E85.
It’s a strong motor which fits well into
the Tahoe’s typical itinerary – smooth
and torquey for towing up to 8,400 pounds,
and using only 1 bank of cylinders when not
under full load. A tow/haul mode and auto
grade braking for the 6-speed automatic boosts
driver confidence while an optional Trailering
Package can be specified which brings heavy
duty drivetrain cooling and a 2-speed transfer
case with a 4-low range. Mine however, makes
due with 2WD, Auto and 4 high settings.You
now, it’s refreshing to drive a big, body-on-frame
SUV. You can forget how pleasing and comfortable
they are to drive. Even my height challenged
wife found the Tahoe easy to command. And
it’s a great long trip vehicle with all
of the creature comforts one could want plus
it drives with authority. But just like the
new GM trucks from which it’s based, the
Tahoe still has a bit of truckiness to its
ride.This mid-trim Tahoe LT with its coil
spring rear suspension makes due without GM’s
brilliant Magnetic Ride Control shocks – they’re
standard on LTZ models – and so this otherwise
plush ride suffers just a bit. These 20”
polished aluminum wheels are an option to
the standard 18” set.Though lacking the
freshness of a redesigned model and still
plagued by some less than quality plastic
and other trim bits, this new Tahoe invites
plenty of great technologies into the cabin
including a front-seat center air bag such
as the one used in GM’s 3-row crossovers,
the vibrating Safety Alert Seat and all of
the radar and camera-based driver assistance
goodies. The graphic displays are excellent
and easy to use and the range of connectivity
options all over the Tahoe are exceptional.
OnStar 4G LTE with WiFi hotspot and a wire-free
charge mat for mobile devices weren’t available
on my early build tester.I’m not sure what
took the automotive industry so long, but
the Blu-ray player has finally made its way
inside the car. And that’s a really good
thing because if you’ve ever left on vacation
and your kid grabbed a DVD and instead it
was a Blu-ray and it didn’t play once you
left…it’s not a pretty scene.I don’t
know about you but I grow impatient with some
of the slow-moving power features of today’s
cars like 3rd row seats but I certainly can’t
criticize these in the Tahoe. Like a crocodile.The
power folding feature makes reconfiguring
for cargo a breeze and it’s easy to instigate
no matter where you are…a great convenience.
But the high load floor of a vehicle like
this means the third row is a terrible place
to be.This big boy Tahoe LT 4WD starts at
just under $54,000 and stickers very well
equipped like this for $60,855. Profit margins
are just as huge as the vehicle itself. And
as food for thought, a similarly sized, nearly
as capable and more fuel efficient Mercedes
GL350 is within shouting distance with cache
the Chevy can’t match.

2015 Chevy Tahoe LTZ Cylinder Deactivation
the WNC Powerhouse:
Alright, now we're on the back side of this
mountain. We're coming back down and it is,
as you can see there in the bottom right corner
of my display, it is in four-cylinder mode
which means it's shut off half the cylinders
saving me a bunch of gas on the way back down
this mountain here. That's going to be fantastic.
This car is a really great road-trip vehicle
with the awesome sound system and the Blu-Ray
player/DVD that is ceiling-mounted and in-dash
here. That ceiling mounted one if for all
your passengers in the 2nd and 3rd row. It
even comes with wireless headphones so you
don't have to listen to it up here in the
front, you can be listening to your own stuff,
we've got it on Pandora here. But it'll save
a bunch of gas and the great thing about it
is, just in case something were to happen,
you can flip it back in to V8 mode real quick
just by touching the pedal again or gently
pushing it it'll actually kick back in to
V8 mode and there's not any actual "kick"
to it, I know I said "kick" but it just smoothly
transitions back and forth. You wouldn't even
know if you weren't looking at this.

Today we're going to be taking a walkthrough of this
2015 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ
This is a fully loaded SUV
that has a 5.3L, V8 engine underneath the hood
And as you can see it is a gorgeous sleek black colour
On the front, of course, you have those
daytime running lights and front fog lights
But we also have, as you can see those little circles there
those parking sensors
which is awesome to have
Coming on down the side
you're going to be riding on top of 22" Bridgestone
mud and snow tires
with those gorgeous polo-
polished chrome alloy wheels
four wheel disc brakes and coming on in
you can see there is a fair amount of tread
but also that rock guard
that's always nice to have
Coming on down the side
you'll see more great chrome details around the windows and the mirrors
As well as body matching handles
Running boards down there to help assist you in and out of this vehicle
On the mirrors we do have
blind spot monitoring as indicated by that little
logo there
as well as turn light indicators
they are power mirrors
and you can just control them from the inside
I'll show you that later
And we do have roof rails up there as you can see
Well there is a multitude of features on the inside
so if you stick with me, I'll show you them now
Helping you into this 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe
is this handy key fob
so you do have, of course your
your lock, your unlock buttons, your remote start
and your, uh, power tail gate releases
as well as a panic button
But what's nice about this, is that
In case you don't want to pull your keys out of your purse or pocket
we do have just the proximity key here
so just pressing this button will unlock
and it will lock it as well
So coming on in
We have all those power options that I was talking about
so for your power windows, mirrors and locks
And on here we have our memory settings for our power seats
And coming on down
we have that very luxurious Bose stereo system
And coming on in, you can see that the design of this
Tahoe
is just exuding luxury
We got those great wood grain, simulated wood grain details
We've got these luxurious
um
leather, bucket, front seats here
with some great stitching
And the power down here
so power height adjustable
There's the recline
and the lumbar support here
Which is lovely to have so when you do have those
settings all figured out for you
you can use those memory buttons down there
that I did show you before
And coming on to the steering wheel
it is power tilt and telescopic
which is absolutley fantastic
This vehicle is truly customizable
On here: our traction control, our adjustable pedals
our parking sensors, like I said
our lane departure warning
that you can set
which is wonderful to have
So that if you do drift out of your lane
it will give you that alert there
The four-wheel drive here, our trailer
controls
And, of course, our automatic lights
so you never have to worry about that
So just coming on in
and just having the keys, you know, either here on the center consol
or, you know, just in your pocket
you just press the brake
and press the start button
it will start up for you
We have your ABS brakes, traction control like I showed you before
tire pressure moinitoring system
So as you can see we are facing South
We only have 24,960 kilometers on this Tahoe
And just using the buttons here on the steering wheel
We can go through a couple of the options
We have a couple of trips
We have your fuel range till empty
Your oil life
Your tire pressure monitoring system
Your fuel economy
Your engine hours
and just back there to the beginning
So as you can see we have this gorgeous ergonomically designed
leather wrapped steering wheel with the custom stitching on the inside
which just adds that little extra details there
We have our cruise control options of course
but we also have our, um
front
collision alert here
So if there is a, you know, a pedestrian
or a vehicle slows down in front of you
and you arn't paying attention exactly
It will give you that alert, those lights and the hepatic feedback
in your seats
So that you will be able to, um
brake and avoid a collision there
Your heated steering here as well
which is lovely lovely in those winter months
Keeps your hands nice and toasty
We do have on the other side
our volume controls
and like I said, those controls there for on the dash
If I do turn up the volume just using the
there's paddle buttons back here
Just pressing this once will mute the audio
and pressing this button here will activate the Bluetooth
"Command please"
Cancel
"Goodbye"
So as you can see there's all those commands there
to keep your hands on the steering wheel
and eyes on the road
Coming on to the middle we have a
a bunch of technological features here
We have our Sirius Satellite radio, our AM and FM radio
too as well
as
along with
uh
Navigation which is absolutely wonderful, you'll never get lost
Coming on down we have our options here for our, uh
CD player, our radio once again
There is a ton of other features on here
just go onto your home button
So you can connect your phone
if i click the right button there
sorry guys
that's for the video

you have all the voice controls there
um
various other settings and Onstar
Your dual climate control
We have our
Well I guess it would be a tri-zone climate control here
Your rear climate is down here
on the bottom to be able to control the tempurature for your passengers
And we have

more wonderful features here
for your heated and cooled seats
both passenger and driver
And tucked away under here
Laaaa
Like magic
There are two USB ports so you can charge your phone
there's that 12V outlet
cupholders here that just tuck away
nicely like that
Coming on to the center armrest
Very very deep, lots of storage
There is a light down there illuminates everything in there at night time
so you can see
Down there
uh, we have
SD slot, two additional USB ports and an AUX imput
and on here another 12V outlet
You can see all the gorgeous details in this vehicle
that really make it feel very very luxurious
very roomy
You definitely can sense the style
when you come in here
Our locking glove box with owners manuals of course
And coming up, once again that OnStar button there

What's a lovely lovely features
on such warm days as today
Is this tilt and
tilt and sliding
uh
sunroof
So there is the button here for your tilt
just like that
And also the button for your sliding
so when you do
wanna go for a cruise and have the sun shine
coming on in
Nice breeze going
Always wonderful to have
And there is that shade here so
on those days that you do not want to have the sun shining through
And if I just put it into reverse
there is a back-up camera there
so
Once again just a ton a ton of technological features in here
to make your ride just as comfortable as you would want it

well
there are more features in the back so if you'll join me I'll show you them now
Coming on into the back your going to see that
you do have additional wood grain, simulated wood grain details
there on the door, as well as your speakers
But what is a really nice feature of this Tahoe
are the captains chairs here
They give it a really,
I keep saying luxurious but it truly
that is truly the feeling that you get
when you climb on in to this vehicle
On the back of the drivers and passengers
chairs
We have the vinyl backing
so it is easy to clean if little feet do kick back there
map holders
and just folding this on down
You're going to see the third-row seating back there
which is a 60/40 split with all the child safety locks and anchors that you will need
So you can comfortably comforably fit
up to seven people in this wonderful Tahoe
Coming on to the center here we have that
um
The "tri" zone part of the climate control
so the rear climate back here
Heated seats which is wonderful
We have a power outlet there
a 12 volt outlet
as well as
the SD slot, USB, AUX input and output there
And coming up, up *laughs* coming up
You're going to see we have a DVD player
What a wonderful feature to have to keep the little kiddos entertained
You know that no matter where you go in this Tahoe
that you are never going to hear "Mommy and Daddy are we there yet?"

and this is an expert rundown
of the 2017 Chevy Tahoe.
For 2017, the Chevy Tahoe gets
a new collision warning system,
teen driver management
system, and a reminder
to check the back seat for child
occupants when you get out.
You know, it's got
all the great things
going for it that
you'd expect out
of something that's this big.
It can seat up to
nine passengers,
it can tow a lot,
up to 8,600 pounds.
It's actually got some
pretty good off road
capability, especially
with the Z-71 packages.
But, you know, as you'd expect
with a big SUV like this, body
on frame you're going
to get something that's
not necessarily as efficient
as a lot of the crossovers that
are out there.
Fuel economy is going to suffer.
And actually, when you
consider how big this Tahoe is,
it's not as roomy on the
inside as you'd expect.
The cargo capacity
is a bit limited,
that lift over
height in the rear
is kind of difficult
to get big heavy items,
strollers over, maybe when
you're going out, you know,
shopping, and picking up a
lot of stuff at the store.
Trying to put it in
the trunk there's
going to be a little bit harder.
And also, that nine
passenger configuration
is only available on the
base trim of the Tahoe.
So as you see on the
inside of this one,
there's three seats in the third
row, two in the second row,
and two in the front.
So you're going to be
a little bit limited
as to what standard and optional
features you can get if you do
want to have a car
that seats nine people.
Up front though, the
fit and finish is good.
The interior of the
car feels nice enough.
The Chevy MyLink system is
a good operating system,
works well with voice commands.
There's a lot of
small item storage.
IF you've got a lot
of kids, and you're
going on a long
road trip, there's
a lot of places to
store stuff in here.
Up front the knobs,
the dials, all
work well with gloves on,
big chunky steering wheel.
But another downside
of a vehicle this big,
it's not as nimble,
doesn't handle as well as
some of the
crossovers out there.
Bottom line the 2017 Chevy
Tahoe has a lot of space,
room for up to nine,
and big towing capacity,
but it's going to
be less refined
than some of its rivals.
You might want to check out
competition like the Toyota
Sequoia, or the Mazda CX-9.

2015 Chevy Tahoe In Dash and Ceiling Mounted BD and DVD Player
the WNC Powerhouse:
Something else that's really awesome about
this is the in-dash and the ceiling-mounted
DVD players they come with [LTZ trim level
option] which is a really great rear entertainment
system for your kids. Even while you're parked
you can sit here and see the same thing! When
you're driving, it's got these wireless headphones
that your kids can wear so that you can be
listening to anything else that you want.
So you don't get distracted by the DVD it'll
shut that off. However, the sound system is
nearly theater-quality! [movie sounds play]
This is my favorite part, hold on. Anyways,
thanks for watching! One thing I forgot to
mention a second ago is, you've got this really
awesome remote that will let you control this,
it actually doesn't work in the front seat,
it probably wants you to keep your eyes on
the road here but if you're right here in
the back... it will go ahead and play it just
fine, if I hit the button correctly... [movie
sounds] Pretty cool little feature to keep
your kids entertained!
