The First 5 Silverado Parts You Should Buy For Your 2019 Chevy Silverado - The Haul

The First 5 Silverado Parts You Should Buy For Your 2019 Chevy Silverado - The Haul

AmericanTrucks Chevy & GMC:

Hey, guys.
It's Sara with americantrucks.com.
And in this episode of "THE HAUL" we're gonna
check out the first five mods that I picked
for the 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500.
There's been a lot of buzz about the 2019
Silverado and its new look that really stands
out in the crowd of pickups.
Now this new design looks and functions great
but good luck telling us not to modify our
truck to make it even better.
So without further ado, here are my pics for
the 2019 Silverado's first five mods.
Most trucks have a slight rake from the factory
which means the back of your truck is going
to sit a bit higher than the front to aid
in towing.
So those of you who don't like this look or
don't plan to tow on a daily basis, a leveling
kit is a great solution to the factory rake.
A leveling kit, as the name implies, brings
up the front of your truck so it sits level
with the rear.
Also if you're looking to comfortably add
larger tires to your truck, a leveling kit
will ensure you can run larger wheels and
tires by giving you that much needed suspension
lift in the front.
Now a lift kit will also remove the factory
rake and will allow you to run larger tires
but they can get much higher price wise because
they require additional parts and a much more
involved installation process.
A leveling kit is a great entry-level and
much more budget-friendly solution.
So with that in mind, I chose the Pro Comp
Suspension 2.25-Inch Leveling Kit because
it's a relatively simple and budget-friendly
way to prepare your truck for larger wheels
and tires.
This leveling kit allows for the addition
of up to 33-inch tires while still leaving
plenty of room for clearance when driving
and eliminates that factory rake.
This kit consists of two strut spacers for
each side that will increase the front of
your truck 2.25 inches, giving your truck
a more level appearance.
The spaces are constructed from billet aluminum
and the kit includes a top and bottom spacer
simplifying the installation process.
Because of the way this kit is designed with
two spacers instead of just one large top
spacer, install can be completed without dropping
the lower control arm.
Although this leveling kit is considerably
less complicated to install than a full lift
kit, you'll still need a professional alignment
afterwards.
And because this kit features direct bolt-on
installation, there's no permanent modification
to your truck if you choose to go back to
stock or upgrade to a lift down the road.
Lifts or leveling kits just beg for aftermarket
wheels and tires, so now that our truck is
level, let's move onto our next mod, wheels
and tires.
I chose this 20x9 Fuel Maverick Wheel in Gloss
Black wrapped in this Nitto Terra Grappler
G2 All-Terrain Tire.
It's a 275/60R20 which is equivalent to about
a 33-inch tire.
I went with an all-terrain tire because it
really is the best of both worlds.
You get the upgraded look and function over
an all-season like the ones that come factory.
These are going to give you more grip in off-road
situations but the all-terrain isn't going
to be as noisy as a mud terrain so you can
still take your truck on the highway.
If you're looking to get the best of both
worlds and you're planning to take your truck
off-roading on occasion or you just want to
add some performance to your daily driver,
these tires are an excellent choice.
This 20x9 wheel features one-piece aluminum
construction with a gloss black milled finish.
They have an offset of only plus one millimeter,
so they sit flush with your fenders similar
to stock but the 20-inch Fuel wheel is a nice
appearance upgrade over the factory 18s.
The wheel style really does come down to personal
preference and I like this particular set
because it delivers that upgraded look without
being too over the top.
This setup fills the wheel well nicely and
still leaves room for your suspension to travel
without hitting or rubbing.
A set of side steps is another popular first
mod for truck owners and for good reason.
Side steps make it easier to get into your
truck especially if it's lifted and allows
you to add a bit of side protection and some
of your own style in the process.
There are a ton of options out there for side
steps but I pick these Barricade HD Steps
because of their unique drop step design and
the black powder coat that goes nicely with
the look of our truck.
The Barricade HD steps feature a drop step
which brings down the stepping surface and
comes in handy especially if your truck is
lifted or leveled like ours.
These Barricade steps feature a tubular steel
construction with a textured black powder
coat finish and with the raised steel step
pads to provide easy access to your truck
in all weather.
These are a great option because they deliver
the aggressive look of a high-end drop step
while still leaving some money in your pocket
for other modifications.
Stock exhausts are almost always lacking soundwise.
With large restrictive mufflers from the factory,
you can barely hear the 5.3-liter engine roar.
One of the first modifications that most truck
owners do is swap out the stock exhaust for
something that is sure to wake it up and make
the drive more enjoyable.
I chose the Corsa sport system because of
its great fit, high-quality materials and
it delivers an aggressive sound.
I'm giving it a four out of five on the loudest
meter and here is a quick before and after
sound click.
This exhaust is designed for those who are
looking for not only an upgrade in sound overstock
but also an upgrade in appearance.
This Corsa exhaust features mandrel-bent 304-stainless
steel construction with twin 4-inch gloss
black tips.
The black tips are an upgrade when compared
to the factory slash exhaust that really is
lacking any tip at all and they compliment
the wheels that I've chosen pretty nicely.
Don't let its sleek appearance fool you, though.
This one packs a punch as one of the louder
options for the new Silverado.
We had a lot of fun with this exhaust.
Corsa really hit the nail on the head with
this system.
It produces that aggressively loud growl on
the outside and you still get some dude exhaust
sounds in the cabin with no drone when cruising.
You want to be able to hear your exhaust without
being overpowered by it while driving, and
this Corsa sports system delivers just that.
Many truck owners choose to add a tonneau
cover to their truck to protect the contents
of their bed from the elements and would-be
thieves but they also deliver the added bonus
of a more sleek appearance.
There are many different styles of tonneau
cover and they all have their pros and cons.
I think the tri-fold styles combines all of
the best features we would want out of a tonneau.
So let's get into why I chose this Undercover
Ultra Flex Tonneau for our first five mods.
Tri-fold tonneaus are one of the more popular
styles of tonneau because of their design.
This folding hardcover not only provides protection
from the elements but because it is a hardcover,
it provides more protection from would-be
thieves as well.
This tonneau is constructed from heavy-duty
aluminum and features a textured black finish
with a light that slides into the rail system
as an added bonus.
In addition, the tri-fold style folds all
the way up to the back of the bed in seconds
and locks in various positions so you can
still haul larger cargo.
This undercover tonneau does all this while
adding a sleek appearance with its flush design
that compliments your new Silverado.
So that's gonna do it for my first five mods.
I want to hear what you guys think or what
you would pick in the comments below.
Don't forget to like and subscribe.
And remember for all things Silverado, keep

2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500: First Look – PickupTrucks.com

Cars.com:

this is our first chance to see the 2020
Chevy Silverado heavy duties right next
to me is a 2500 LTZ and you can look at
it and tell that this is an all-new
pickup truck powertrain design interior
everything has been completely redone as
far as powertrains the carryover Duramax
diesel is gonna come to the new 2020
Silverado HD s what you have here are
some Auto Show cables so it might look a
little bit different but still the exact
same carry over engine 445 horsepower
910 foot-pounds of torque but now has a
10 speed heavy-duty Allison transmission
made it up to it also the big news in
all-new 6.6 liter direct injection v8
engine 401 horsepower 464 foot-pounds of
torque now that new gas engine is also
made it up to a revised six-speed
transmission and also one thing to
consider here if you're doing any work
on your engine on these new heavy duties
they're a little taller than they were
before so when you're trying to reach
for this hood it's a little difficult
inside everything is going to be very
familiar to the Silverado half-ton
pickup truck regular extended and crew
cab is going to be larger more legroom
especially for rear passengers but the
inside - very very similar to what we've
already seen on the half tons dual glove
boxes this is the LTZ package very nice
organic looking center console plenty of
storage here in the middle and also a
uniquely designed gauge cluster for the
driver another feature we like an
all-wheel drive capable transfer case on
a heavy duty vehicle that's a segment
exclusive here at the back of the truck
we love the fact that it's got the rear
view cameras push button tailgate drop
does it automatically you also have four
fifth wheel or gooseneck hitches you've
got the 4 and the 7 pin hitches here on
the inside also a three-prong 120 volt
plug here on the opposite side and then
you've got almost 7 inches of extra
width in the beds and the longest beds
in the segment no matter what the cab
configuration
and then because this has the auto
dropout a lift tailgate one push button
and it'll send the tailgate right back
up and closed
there's obviously tons to talk about
with this new vehicle and we will be
talking more about this after we get
some time behind the wheel but to call
out just two features that we really
like the DEF tank is right here at the
fuel filler and the fact is that every
single duly equipped Chevy heavy-duty
Silverado 3500 with the diesel will be
able to tow over thirty five thousand
pounds for more information go to pickup

The First 5 Silverado Parts You Should Buy Under $500 For 2014 - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado - The Haul

AmericanTrucks Chevy & GMC:

Hey, guys.
Adam here with americantrucks.com, and on
this episode of "The Haul," we're taking a
look at my top 5 starter mod picks under $500
for the 2014 and newer Silverado.
This list can obviously differ from person
to person.
This one's gonna be a little bit well-rounded
with a variety of different categories included.
And before we get started, make sure you subscribe
to our YouTube channel to stay up-to-date
on all things Silverado and Sierra.
So the first one I wanna start off with is
arguably one of the most common truck owners
will first do, the side steps.
Now, these are Barricade's 4-Inch Oval Bent
Side Steps with the body mount in black.
Now, there are a lot of side steps in the
category, all of which do essentially the
same job, so it is hard to pick one right
off the bat.
So it comes down to exactly how much you're
looking to spend and what kind of styling
you're going for after all.
Now, this one, as you can see, has that bent
end design that mounts directly to the body
and frame on both sides in the powder-coated
black finish that gives it that corrosion
and rust resistance layer.
The two-stage precoating obviously helps with
that as well.
Now, the biggest thing I wanna point out here
is the ABS plastic textured matte finish with
the tire tread pattern on the slip-resistant
pads.
Now, this will help you get in and out of
the truck safely no matter what the weather,
rains, snow, slid, or shine, and it's definitely
gonna be a reliable way, especially if you
have a lifted truck.
Now, these come in just under the $200 mark,
making it an extremely budget-friendly price
tag and the perfect mod for our top 5 under
$500 list.
Now, this one installs pretty easily.
The brackets go directly onto the frame.
The bar mounts right to the brackets.
No drilling or modifications required.
Now, it's really a no-brainer as to why this
made our top five list today.
So next up on my top five starter mods list
is something that plays a huge part in functionality
as well as styling on the back end of your
truck, and it's gonna be the tonneau cover.
Now, there's a number of different tonneau
covers on the site in the category and all
over the aftermarket world, but TruXmart has
really taken their tonneau covers to the next
level, making it so much easier to use.
Now, they have the Tri Fold, which is exactly
what we have here today on this list, but
also the Quattro Fold, Smart Fold, and Smart
Roll.
Now, all of them have a smart latching system,
and they're all under the $500 limit to fit
this video today.
Now, these are all some of my personal favorites,
and let me tell you why.
Now, TruXmart introduced their smart latching
system, which is essentially gonna make opening
your bed a lot easier.
So you drop the tailgate, and there's a clamp
on each side of the end of the tailgate allowing
you to open up or unlatch your system and
fold it right back.
In this case, it's the Tri Fold, so your bed
cover is gonna fold back at three different
sections, giving you access to your bed in
portions.
This is super useful depending on what kind
of cargo you're hauling, but you also might
want to check out the Smart Roll or Smart
Fold options as well depending on how you
want your bed to be accessed.
Now, all of this actually offers another big
functionality by giving you superior aerodynamics.
Now, when you don't have a bed cover on your
truck, there's a lot of wind resistance against
the back tailgate, which can actually shed
a mile or two off of your fuel efficiency.
Now, when you have a tonneau cover on the
back of your truck, it actually gives you
a lot better aerodynamics, and it can actually
save you some money at the pump.
Now, TruXmart does make this very durable
and very reliable as far as construction.
The UV-resistant black vinyl on top won't
fade in the sunlight, so it does stay pretty
fresh-looking at all times throughout the
years.
Now, the frame rails going across here are
aluminum and help support any weight that
does go on top of the tonneau cover here.
If your snow is piling up in the wintertime
if you're on the East Coast, like we are,
this will hold up to all that added weight.
And, finally, it will protect all of your
cargo inside the bed, thanks to the weather-stripping
going around.
You don't have to worry about water getting
in and damaging whatever you got.
Now, this cover comes in right around the
$300 mark, which, I think, is super affordable,
and it makes it so easy to add it to our top
5 list today.
The installation is gonna be pretty simple.
You just attach your bed rails and clamps
to the side of your bed.
Now, the smart latching system kinda hooks
on to the bottom of those clamps and makes
it easier for you to unlatch in just a couple
of seconds.
Obviously, a no-brainer for our starter mods
list under $500 today.
Now, next up on the mod list here is something
that almost all truck owners have thought
about at one point or another, and it's lifting
your truck.
Now, a lot of guys might be scared off by
price tags, thinking that it's one of the
most expensive things to do to your truck,
and that's actually not the case at all.
Now, if you're looking to stay on a budget,
like we are here, under 500 bucks, this is
a good way to do so, and what I've chosen
for this list is the Rough Country 3 and 1/4
Inch Suspension and Body Lift Combo Kit.
And you can pick it up for yourself to get
the look that we have here.
It's a good way to fit some bigger wheels
and tires, of course, if you want some 33s
like these, and it's obviously a good way
to get a more aggressive and meaner-looking
truck overall.
Now, this particular kit comes from Rough
Country with 1 and 1/4 inch rear lift spacers
as well as 2-inch strut spacers for the front.
Now, the rear lift spacers are gonna be a
superior fiberglass-reinforced construction,
very durable stuff there, and, of course,
the spaces in the front are also gonna be
the same way.
Now, this lift also levels out the truck here,
bringing your front end up a little bit to
match the rear.
A lot of guys do wanna get a leveling kit
and a suspension kit all put together in one,
and this does just that.
Now, the cool thing about this is you are
gonna fit 33-inch tires or up to 33-inch tires
comfortably with no modifications necessary.
Now, that's also gonna be a good thing with
your ground clearance, because bigger wheels
and tires, bigger lift kit on your truck does
give you some off-road capabilities that you
otherwise would not have with the stock setup.
Now, with that said, this entire kit, the
body lift and suspension combo, comes in just
under the $300 mark for everything you see
here.
It's a perfect match for anybody looking to
get a small jump in ride height without going
too tall and obviously being able to hop in
comfortably, especially for guys like me,
if you're vertically challenged.
Now, the installation here does require some
modifications under the body, but I definitely
don't think it's the hardest thing in the
world.
I would have recommended having a cutting
tool on deck that you are most comfortable
using.
This kit does perfectly fit with our top 5
under $500 because of the added ground clearance,
the bigger wheel and tire configuration, and
just a more aggressive look here.
It's definitely one of the first choices if
you're gonna lift your truck on a budget.
Moving on under the hood, we're actually gonna
talk a little bit about performance here.
Now, we've got the AIRAID MXP Series Cold
Air Intake with the SynthaFlow Oiled Filter.
Now, a cold air intake in general is typically
one of the first mods you would do to a truck
or a car, just because it is so damn easy.
Now, the AIRAID 1 is one of the more well-known
brands in the category, because they've been
reliable and pretty trustworthy for years
and years, decades even.
So this particular kit here is gonna completely
replace your factory airbox, which is pretty
restrictive.
They kinda open things up and give you a better-breathing
engine.
This will lead to a small bump in horsepower
and torque as well as throttle response and
even fuel efficiency.
Now, the way that works is you actually get
a black polyethylene tubing, which is gonna
help with completely unrestricted airflow
straight into the manifold, and on the other
end of that, you have one of the most reliable
and well-known air filters on the market.
Now, the filter here is made from one of the
highest quality synthetic materials with a
cotton gauze and a diamond wire mesh pattern
on the outside, some superior filtration capabilities
keeping out everything you don't want, like
dirt and dust, but pulling in cold air to
kinda give you that engine performance that
you need and expect out of this.
Now, this entire kit here is gonna be running
under the $400 mark, which is a great price
for anyone looking to stick with a budget-friendly
cold air intake that does not require a tune.
Now, if you're looking to kind of increase
those gains, you would definitely wanna pick
up a custom tune on the side, but that's gonna
be left for another list of mine coming in
the future.
On top of that, the air filter is washable
and reusable, so when it comes time for routine
maintenance, or if it just gets a little dirty,
pop it out, wash it, re-oil it, and throw
it right back in.
It's as simple as that.
The installation for the entire kit is pretty
simple as well, just a couple of bolts and
clamps as well as hoses and plugs, and you're
good to go.
Overall, extremely simple stuff and exactly
why we want it on our top five list.
So, to round out our list here, of course,
I had to pick up an exhaust mod for the truck,
which is actually kinda tough to pick one
under the $500 limit, but we did manage to
pick one up.
This is the MBRP Installer Series 3-Inch Cat-Back
Exhaust with the split rear exit design as
you see here.
To do it any justice, we had to get the truck
on a lift.
Now, this is gonna help with a small bump
in horsepower and torque, but, more importantly,
it's gonna be a huge sound upgrade over the
stock cat-back.
So let's take a listen to the sound clips.
As you just heard from our clips, this isn't
gonna be the loudest exhaust available, but
it is gonna give you a noticeable change.
It's a little bit more aggressive at idle,
and it's definitely gonna bark at wide open
throttle with little to no drone inside the
truck on the highway at those speeds.
Now, this one is gonna be made from an aluminized
steel, so it's not the highest quality option
on the market.
When you're sticking onto the budget, this
is gonna be one of the ones that fit under
the $500 limit.
Now, MBRP does offer more premier options,
like the Pro Series with 304 stainless steel
builds, which is gonna be more suitable for
the guys out there in wintry weather areas
seeing a lot of road salt, as it will be a
little more corrosion and rust-resistant.
This aluminized steel is gonna be sort of
the entry level option here to keep the budget-friendly
levels down, but it's a great option for guys
just looking for a sound change.
To top that off, it does have dual 3-inch
stainless steel tips coming out the rear as
you can here with that split rear exit design.
MBRP does offer a couple of different exit
styles, but this one's gonna be my favorite
for the more American muscle styling.
Now, because of the aluminized steel construction,
the price does stay under the $500 limit right
around 460 bucks, so it's perfect for our
list here.
Well, guys, that wraps up my top 5 starter
mods under $500 for the 2014 and newer Silverado.
We wrapped into one nice little package power,
styling, appearance, functionality, performance,
kind of a very well-rounded starting build.
Now, if you guys are looking for inspiration
to start your own build, I hope this video
helped out in any way.

Down here on the back of this console is additional
cup holders.
We have rear reading lights.
And folding this down, if I can grab it.
There are additional cup holders if you are
not wanting to have three people back here.
And just using the sheer strength of your
muscles you can fold up that 60/40.
Sorry if you can't here me there is an alarm
going off in the distance.
Just try and ignore it.
Any way, all the child safety locks and anchors
that you will need back here.
Coming around back we have bed rails that
are also chrome.
It has a chrome appearance package as you
can see from those tail lights.
We have a trailer (hitch receiver) with 7
pin hook up.
There is also a spare tire mounted back there.
And another wonderful feature that this truck
comes equipped with is a bed liner.
So that is going to protect your box from
getting any scratches or damage to it.
You can see how this would be a really great
work vehicle.
Its very flashy, very gorgeous I think.
Has all the capabilities of tackling any job
you throw at it.
Coming into the back once again, your passengers
are going to have as comfortable a ride as
you are.
And into the front.
But you don't have to take my word for it.
You can come on down to Sherwood Park Chevrolet
yourself and take her for a test drive.
We are just a click or a call away.
I want to thank you guys once again for watching
my videos.
My names Dakota I'm down here at Sherwood
Park Chev.
There is an alarm going off once again.
Sorry about that guys.
I can't control the environment.

Thanks and have a great day.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (LTZ Z71): REVIEW

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (LTZ Z71): REVIEW

Dilawri Group of Companies:

Chevrolet is one of a few brands that
absolutely dominates the North American
truck segment. Today we're getting in, or
climbing in if you're my height, the 2018
Silverado 1500. The truck that we have
here is equipped with the LTZ Z71 trim.
The Silverado is available with a
regular cab, a 4-door double cab, as well
as a crew cab. Today we have the
full-size crew cab with the 5'8" short
box. Keep watching for our overview and

Chevy is offering three different types
of engines for the Silverado. There is a
4.3L V6, a 5.3L V8 and a 6.2L
V8. Today we have the 6.2L Ecotec3 V8 paired to an 8-speed
automatic transmission. It makes 420 horsepower and 460
pound-feet of torque. Depending on
whichever configuration you're going for,
this is either available as a two-wheel
drive or a four-wheel drive truck. This
is the 4x4. It gets 16.0L/100KM city and 11.7L/100KM highway. The
Silverado is a great looking truck. It's
masculine and aggressive with defined
lines across the hood and the body. The one we have today is in Summit White. You do
get body coloured front and rear bumpers as well as full LED headlights and tail
lamps on this trim. Wheel sizes start
from 17" but you can upgrade to 18"s,
20"s like these or 22" wheels. Back
here you can see that this has a
spray-on bedliner for ultimate
protection for the roll-formed
high-strength steel bed. There are also
lights here so you can see your cargo in
dim lighting. It is incredibly spacious
and the wheel hubs don't take up too
much space. There are a plethora of
accessories for your truck depending on
what you need, including things like
tonneau covers, bed extenders and more.
This truck has a maximum towing capacity of 12,500 lbs. and a maximum payload
of 2,150 lbs. The LTZ Z71 comes standard with a trailering package and a locking
differential. You can also hook up
parking lamps, backup lamps, right and
left turn signals, and more.
Let's explore the interior-- but before we
do, the Silverado does have remote start
which is a really convenient feature. The
interior of the Silverado is nice and
spacious.
The Z71 trim adds a few interior
features like gauge clusters and door sills.
This is the jet black leather interior. The front seats are heated and
ventilated. The heated steering wheel is
available on this trim and the Silverado
also comes with dual-zone automatic
climate control. What's great about this
truck is that there is a lot of storage
space from the center console to the
glove compartment which has two separate areas. As well, you'll notice a few power
outlets for your convenience. You'll also
see this four-position knob that allows
you to manage four-wheel drive control. Auto allows you to stay in two-wheel
drive until the system detects rear
wheel slippage. And of course the sunroof
is an additional option and perfect for
days like today. This truck comes with
Chevrolet's MyLink audio system with an
8" infotainment system. It supports
AM/FM radio and Sirius XM radio, as well
as Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android
Auto. Wireless charging and the Bose 7-speaker premium audio system is
available. Now, this model in particular
comes with the Z71 Off-Road
package which includes Rancho monotube shock absorbers, a high capacity engine
air filter, hill descent control, a
transfer case shield and exterior and
interior Z71 accents. You can also
pick your rear axle ratio: 3.23 or 3.42
for heavy duty towing. As well, when it
comes to comfort the Silverado is really
nice to drive. The seats are very
supportive, the visibility is great, and
for someone shorter like me the power
adjustable pedals are incredible. When it
comes to safety the rear vision camera
is standard along with the Stabilitrak
electronic stability control system
which includes electronic trailer sway
control. This truck has the enhanced
Driver Alert package which includes
features like lane keep assist, front and
rear park assist, and forward collision
alert.
Chevy is also offering their Teen Driver
technology which can limit certain
features and provide an in-vehicle report
on your teen's driving habits.
It seems like there are an endless number of ways
to configure the perfect Silverado for
you. There are about nine more additional
packages for you to choose from so you
can really customize this to your liking.
The Silverado is a great truck. The 2019
model will be out shortly as well so
make sure to stay tuned for another
video on that from Canada's Largest

2019 Chevrolet Silverado - Review & Road Test

2019 Chevrolet Silverado - Review & Road Test

Kelley Blue Book:

When Chevrolet first revealed their
fourth-generation full-size Silverado
they dangled it from a helicopter onto a
massive stage.
Hey, our reveal is just as extravagant.
Okay so maybe we need more helicopter
budget, but we're on dirt and those used to be pine trees. So here it is the
fourth-generation Chevy Silverado.
Okay, I can't.
You know I'm not sure this looks that
different from the previous model. There
are four grille options, this is one of
them and it's bigger and beefier than
the previous generation, but other than
that it looks pretty much like a
Silverado. It does have a steeper
windshield and adds a roof spoiler for
better aerodynamics, but also rides an
inch higher than the third generation.
Thanks to its new bigness the second row
in the crew cab expanded. There are three
more inches back here of space for your
legs, but if you prefer to haul stuff
inside the 60/40 seats fold up. There are
a lot of cool storage spaces.
Check out that cubby. It's pretty neat.
This is bigger than some apartments I've
lived in.
Bed size also benefits from the
Silverado's expansion to the tune of
seven inches of width thanks to GM now
stamping the beds into pieces. It's also
stronger, which is a good thing for tough
payload.
Even the 12 standard tie-down loops are
stronger, and there's an optional power
tailgate, which we think is cool. The
Silverado comes in eight models. The Work Truck
comes with vinyl or cloth seats
and 17-inch wheels, remote keyless entry,
a USB port, seven-inch touchscreen and
Chevrolet's Infotainment 3 system with
Apple CarPlay and Android Audo. Optional
safety features include front and rear
parking assist, lane change alerts with
blind zone warnings, and rear
cross-traffic alerts. Those are some good
options for a base model truck. The
Custom trim adds 20-inch aluminum wheels
and LED tail lights. The Trail Boss adds
a 2-inch lift and the optional Z71
off-road package, which of course
requires four-wheel-drive and includes a
locking rear differential, skid plates,
and 18-inch Goodyear Duratrack tires
for off-roading. Step up to the LT trim
and there's the aforementioned
optional off-road equipment, an
eight-inch touchscreen comes standard as
well as a step up to the 8-speed
automatic transmission from the 6-speed
in lower trims. Hill descent control is
also a good option for when you're
coming down from all those mountains
you're driving over. The LT Trail Boss
includes the off-road capabilities of
the custom Trail Boss. Looking for a
sporty or Silverado the RST trim
includes body coloured exterior trim LED
lighting and 22s.
This high country is at the top of the
Silverado trim mountain, and it is swank
at the summit. Everything is covered in
leather and it's pretty comfy in here in
a truckie kind of way. Both front seats
are heated and ventilated and the
driver's side has 10-way power
adjustment including lumbar. Micah!
It's wireless charging capable and the
storage in the center console is so big
you could probably fit a whole bucket of
fried chicken in there. The Bose audio
system is awesome, you know what, if I
went camping I would probably just stay
in here. Six powertrain choices are
offered on the Silverado. Those larger
two are new options and include GM's new
dynamic fuel management system which is
able to use as few as two cylinders
cutting fuel to the rest for improved
fuel economy. The diesel option is new too. Some EPA numbers weren't available for
various power trains at the time of this
videos making, but here are those that
are.
The 4.3-liter V6 offers up 285
hp and 305 pound-feet of torque.
The 6.2-liter V8, which is in this High
Country crew cab I'm driving has 420
horses and 460 pound-feet of torque. With
a curb weight of 5,000 pounds, a payload
capacity of a little over 2,100 pounds,
and towing capabilities of 12,000 pounds
I'd say that power is going to come in
really handy. That's cute.
Incidentally that's less towing capacity
than a similarly powered Ford F-150 but
more than the RAM 1500 and the same as
the GMC Sierra, which makes sense because
they share power trains. But how does it
drive I hear you ask? You know what? I
have a really good way to find out. Why
thank you.
On the road the Silverado feels sturdy
and solid but surprisingly un-trucky. It
actually drives like a much smaller
vehicle. That might be thanks to Chevy
shaving off up to 450
pounds depending on which Silverado you
drive. The Silverado makes easy work of
curvy mountain roads and is maneuverable
enough to not get you in too much
trouble when parking in relatively tight
spots. The High Country's more refined
road manners are partly due to a 10-
speed automatic transmission with which
it is equipped. Shifts are quick and
smooth. It's tight ratios keep the engine
closer to peak power when at full
throttle. It also makes for easier
operation when towing. It's too bad this
transmission is only an option on the LT
trim and above with the diesel or 6.2-
liter engine. The cabin is quiet. I don't
hear the road and there's no notable
vibration or noise coming from the
engine when that DFM system is doing its
thing. You know if someone was looking
for a midsize crossover alternative with
more utility and towing capacity then
the Silverado drives nicely enough that
it should be considered an option.
Base price on the Work Truck will cost
you around $31,200 including
destination. Our tricked-out High Country,
which is at the top of the spending
spectrum is more like $67,000. This one
also has the Deluxe package that
includes safety features like forward
collision alert, lane keep assist with
lane departure warning, low speed forward
automatic braking. It also has a sunroof,
all-season tires, as well as the Tech
package that gives us the surround
vision camera and head-up display. Those
safety features come in handy especially
in a big truck like this. Sometimes
little things like Miatas or cyclists
are really hard to see. You know, I kind of
feel like the blind spot warning is
pretty much on all the time in this
thing.
The purchasing sweet spot though is
probably the LT trim that starts at just
under 40 large and comes standard with
the 5.3-liter engine and the 8-speed
transmission, but is optional with the
diesel engine mated to the 10-speed. It
also opens up more optional packages
that include tilting and telescoping
steering wheel and navigation. If you're
in the market for a full-size truck the
fourth-generation Silverado has a lot of
competition to check out including the
F-150, Sierra, Ram 1500 and even the
Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra,
but the Silverado has a lot of great
qualities to consider. It's well equipped,
nicely powered and a good-looking truck
that rides nicely on the road. See no
splashy helicopter entrance necessary.

2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss // It's Called the BOSS for a Reason!

2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss // It's Called the BOSS for a Reason!

Car Confections:

What's going on YouTube
So as you guys know even as hot as crossovers are right now in the u.s
They are still no match for the sales figures that the big three pickup trucks produce
That's why we're spending the day with the latest 2020 version of the Chevy Silverado
This time in the LT Trail Boss configuration, which is one we didn't get to check out last year
Of course. We do want to take a moment to specially thank our friends at Sutherland Chevrolet in Nicholasville
Kentucky for giving us access to this Silverado and if you're in the market for any new Chevy
Make sure you stop by their dealership or visit them via their website, which we provided a link to in the video description
So with that all set, let's see if this version of the Silverado is the one to buy

So beginning things here on the outside as always the trail boss is going to stand apart from the other trims immediately
Now obviously the biggest change is that the entire front is rendered in a metallic black both the grille and the bumper areas
As far as the grill itself
The LT trail boss uses the more traditional Chevy design before it's painted wide
Whereas if you go for the cheaper custom trail boss it gets the version with Chevrolet spelt out across it
Just something to consider if your cross shopping the two
By continuing on with this LT trail bus it comes with the full LED headlight arrangement that comes in three distinct sections
the turn signal is not LED, but the fog lights are
And while we're down here, I will mention that the trail boss has a two inch lift over the regular models
Which brings the total ground clearance up to a very nice ten point eight inches
Now continuing around to the rest of the truck the mirrors and door handles
Are finished in that same metallic black and of course you do have Trail Boss brand
The back looks pretty similar to the other trims with LED taillights and dual exhaust tips
But the bumper is metallic black just like in the front
So overall, the trail boss certainly stands out is the most aggressively styled Silverado in the lineup
But I expect nothing less from something with the word boss in the name
Now turning our attention to the wheels the trail boss offers two different options
These are the standard blacked-out 18-inch alloys
However for 800 bucks you can get larger 20 inch alloys with the same spoke design just with a brighter finish
Checking out the mirrors they are power adjusting heated and we have the blind spot monitoring system, which is included in the safety
And speaking of safety systems the trail boss can only get safety package 1
So that does mean it will be missing out on forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection
Lane Keeping Assist
Automatic high-beam headlights any new adaptive cruise control system for 2020
Finally the last two things to discuss are towing in the bet
for the former
We're looking at 9300 pounds of capacity with this 5.3 liter v8 crew cab, since the max trailering package is not available here
The rating would be 100 pounds less with a 6.2 liter
and
As far as the tailgate
It is remote releasing and easy lower and once it falls down you can get in easily with the integrated bumper step
The bet itself is made from high-strength steel and you have 12 different tie-downs each rated for 500 pounds
LED lighting and a household power outlet
Anyways guys that's it for the exterior. So now let's check out the inside before taking it out for a drive
So on the trail boss silverado you do have Chevrolet smart entry system as well as their remove start system
And then we're walking out to the vehicle itself, there is no sense of repairing the handle so you just press the little silver button
All right, so taking our first look inside the 2020 trail boss Silverado
What you'll notice as the cabin is pretty much the same as it is on the other trim levels, though
The interior does come with a couple different configurations. You start out with the bench seating
However, we have opted to have the bucket seats
And then you've got a couple different options. You have jet black or Gideon gray color schemes
The standard seat is cloth. However, we have the optional leather
Now turning over here to your door trim, it is nicely appointed
We do have a soft touch armrest with the stitching detail and it is soft touch above it as well
And we do have this kind of wood
carbon fiber looking trim
As far as your windows, the drivers is One Touch auto up and down, the others are auto down
And then checking out these seats here these are the 10-way power
Adjusting seats. These are also optional and you'll come standard with a 4-way manual seat
Now as the trail boss we're looking at a 2-inch lift, so this is a pretty tall truck
However, we do have a nice running board along the bottom here and a driver side assist grip
So getting in is actually pretty easy now
Of course this is just one year removed from a full redesign
So you will notice all that stuff will carry over for 2020 including upgraded cabinetry
Now across your upper dash here you do have a hard touch plastic but all through this area you have a leatherette material
As far as down on the lower areas, we've got more of that
Trim and then this stuff is hard touch. However, everything does fit together really well and feels very solid
Now standard on trail show boss you do have push-button start
That's taking a look at your gauges here this is the analog setup
So you do have the gauges at the top as well as the 4.2 inch multifunction display
This does have all the same information as the fancier 7 inch display version that comes on the higher-end trims
Then coming back to the steering wheel it is nicely leather wrapped on all of the trail bosses, even the ones with cloth seating
However on this specific one. We do have the optional heating
As far as the wheel itself it is always manual tilt and telescoping
Now let's go ahead and talk about storage since that is one of the main reasons you're gonna get a truck that's this big
Silverado is gonna have you covered so you've got this little area on top of the center console
Of course, the console itself like every truck is absolutely massive. You can fit just about anything in here
You do have a regular USB a USB type-c and an aux jack inside
Up in front of that
You've got two big cupholders and then you have another gigantic vent right through here storage along the side
Of course, you have storage and the doors and you even have storage up here on the top. So you have storage pretty much everywhere
And one of the reasons that is true is because
We have a column mounted shifter. This of course is on every single Silverado
And you can't shift manually with these little toggles if you want to of course
Like all the other Silverados the buttons that used to be down here on the end here like your tomo
Those are relocated over here
So you've got your different your tow mode as well as your other drive modes with this knob your four-wheel drive controls right through here
You also have your headlight and bed lighting controls right there
Now turning into reverse here, of course you are going to have a standard backup camera
However on this specific example, this is the optional HD version which comes in the convenience package
So it's just going to look a little bit crisper. You do have your trailering
view as well and the ability to line up your trailer and your active trajectory and then a
360-degree camera system that's going to be reserved for the higher-end trips
There is also an electronic parking brake located right over there
Now as far as the controls that are located right here you do have another USB type-c standard USB 12-volt outlet
And then on this
Specific example we have the household outlet that's part of the convenience to package
Of course, we've got our trailer brake controller right here. And we do have a row of other buttons located right here
Now checking out the climate control this obviously is the dual zone automatic setup
It does not come standard on the trail boss. You actually have a manual setup that comes standard, but this is optional
Obviously, you've got three big knobs to control most of the functions and then all the other things are located physically, right?
Here we do also have the three-stage seat heating and of course in typical Chevy fashion
You can choose to heat your back and butt separately
All right, so now that brings us up here to our audio system
Just like many of the things in this vehicle. You start out with the basic six speaker sound system
however, since this one here has about
$10,000 of options
We do have the upgraded seven speaker Bose sound system with a sub woofer. So let's go ahead and take example of that
Overall sound quality definitely seems very strong and very bass heavy
Okay, so that brings us here to our Chevy infotainment 3 system
What you're looking at is the 8 inch display. This is standard on the trail boss
And we do have the upgraded system, which I'll get into in just a second
We also have standard apple carplay and android auto but you will not find integrated navigation on this model
Now I'm now going to go into a whole bunch of details about this system because we do have a dedicated
tech help video available
For those of you who want to learn more about it a link to that detailed video is in the video description
Now moving on up here we just have a manual dimming mirror
And you will also notice that here on this example, we actually are lacking a moonroof, that's a
$995 option
So that would be an additional charge
Going back here. I do want to point out that we have home-like universal remotes, even though we don't have a always aiming mirror
And you will notice this button here. This is not for the moonroof
Obviously since we're lacking it, this is for the optional power rear window
But anyways guys that is going to sum up the front areas of this Silverado trail boss
Now go ahead and hand it off to my brother Mason who will head out to the back areas
Now turning and looking at the rear door trim of the Silverado trail boss it is nicely designed
So you do have all this area with the stitching as well as on the armrest
Some more trim and down below that of course, this is a truck. So you do have a lot of door storage
Now here in the center the Silverado does give you two cupholders at the top a little storage bin in between and
underneath of that you will also find standard where air vents on this model as well as a
Regular charging USB a USB type-c in addition to a 12-volt power outlet. These are actually standard equipment
and turning over you do have a fold-down armrest just have cup holders inside some more storage and
Up top you do have some Headroom cutouts, your coat hook and some LED lighting
Now as far as the leg room is concerned the Silverado trail boss is only available in the crew cab
Configuration so that of course means that you are going to have a ton of space
The technical measurement comes in at forty three point four inches of rear legroom and forty inches of rear headroom
Which does place it on par with
Many in the class like the f-150. It's almost identical to that. However, it is a little bit behind the new RAM
But besides that, you know in terms of space behind your seating position
I have probably I would say at least a foot if not more of
Space between my knees in the seat back and my feet can easily sign up underneath the seat. It's fantastically spacious back here
They're looking at the seats themselves, of course they are very
utilitarian here in the Silverado
So behind the actual seat cushion itself, you do have the signature feature of a little bit of storage
So you just pull this strap and that
does reveal
actually a pretty decent amount of storage space you could definitely hide a lot of stuff back there if you didn't want it seem and
Of course, you can also just lift the seat up and then that will reveal
Even more storage spaces down here. So as you can see it goes all the way across the floor
You could definitely fit a lot of stuff back here
And if you folded both seats up, you could definitely store something a larger maybe a lawnmower
Bicycles, whatever you need back there in case it's raining and you don't want to put it in the bed
and
Also in addition to that you can't also fold the seats down with that
Looking at the passenger seat. It is manually adjusting even on this model
And in front of the passenger you do have the signature two-part opening glove box
So you have a little storage right up here storage down below that
Definitely lots of storage spaces in the Silverado
And up top. You do have a Sun Visor with
Mirror, however, there is not lights on this model
Now it does also detach as well as extend
But anyway guys that sums up all the features of this Silverado trail boss now
Let's go ahead and take it out on the road and see how it drives compared to its competition
All right, so getting up to speed here in the 2020 silverado trail boss
This is the 5.3 liter v8 and power
Definitely feels very good
Looking at
355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque
It definitely feels more than adequate for this type of truck, makes good sounds too
you would think it'd be almost a little bit sluggish a sluggish, you know with a giant truck like this
You know how giant this trail boss is but you know taking off from that was about what 0 to 60
Definitely did not have any issues and this is the base engine
That's right. Very important for 2020
We you can now choose to get the 6.2 liter v8, which you know
A lot of people would be interested in that was previously reserved for just your high country, I believe
So now you can get that on this cool-looking Trail Boss
420 horsepower
460 pound-feet of torque
So some serious series performance. We have driven it in the both the high country and
Denali Sierra and
Definitely this great engine a great engine
Even more powerful than this and even better sounds
And now that we're just here at cruising speed I do want to talk about this cars ride quality and overall this ride experience
This car is very this truck is very very quiet
You know
One of the things that I'm noticing is that there's really not too much difference from this model to like the high country
From what I remember
Really with these full-size Silverados. They all just ride really nicely
And you're gonna have a lot of comfort a lot of space
And also, you know with the LT Trail Boss, we were I don't know if we mentioned it in the actual exterior portion
But it is raised 2 inches and you can definitely feel that in your driving dynamic
What Drew mentioned earlier was that it kind of feels like driving almost like the heavy duty version the Silverado
Yeah, and so you are getting that extremely commanding presence here in this LT trail bostrom
I have to drive them back to back
just to know for sure but
I'm thinking that there's a little bit more tire noise on this just for having the off-road worthy tires
All right, so let's go ahead and talk about the transmission situation now, this is one of the things that has changed for 2020
And that's the chevy is now giving you the 10 speed automatic transmission
paired with this 5.3 liter v8
Previously you had the 8-speed automatic
but now in
2020 for just this
Just this Trail Boss LT Trail Boss and the high country those the only two trims where the ten-speed will now be added
With the 5.3 liter v8
The 10 speed automatic was already on the 6.2 to so that does continue on for 2020
That being said definitely a very smooth transmission as we've experienced in the past
It basically shifts its you can't tell at all I mean it's very very smooth
No hesitation
Doesn't seem confused or anything like that
Now will you know, I've noticed a big difference from with the eight-speed last year? I
Don't know
you have to drive them back to back but
nevertheless
Definitely still good that you're getting the latest and greatest from Chevrolet here on the trail boss and
Now also worth noting is that this trail boss trim is only available in four-wheel drive
So that means the fuel economy for this trim level is going to come in at 16 city 21 highway
18 combined for the 5.3 liter engine and the 6.2 liter has actually not been rated
For this trim level, so I'll be curious to see how much of a drop that is. From what I remember
I don't think it's too big of a penalty. I was I believe it's one combined
Yeah that dropped from like the rst with the same engine
So they might expect something similar, with the trail boss equipment added to the 6.2
Now last thing I wanted to mention is just the steering setup here in the Silverado, I really like the way this is set up
It has a really pleasant
combination of lightness but also
It responds accurately. There's no dead spots
And you do have a good sense of where the wheels are placed. Which overall like I said is very
Important for a big truck like this, you know that you have a sense of of what's going on
While also still being light enough that it's easy to maneuver around at low speeds
But on all the driving characteristics of this trail boss are very pleasant
Like Mason had hit on there's really not a huge difference between this and the
High country the rsd the other silver autos we've driven
And that's a good thing. It just has a
Pleasant driving dynamic, it's it's just easy to live with
Even for someone who's used to driving a sedan like myself
and you know all in all I think it
Definitely is a good overall package being tough looking at all, but still driving
in a polite way
All righty
And now that you've seen the attractive package that the trail boss has let's go ahead and discuss the pricing of that model
So you can go for what we have here
Which is the 5.3 liter LT and that's going to start at forty eight thousand five hundred dollars now newly offered as a 6.2 liter
engine option and that's going to be fifty thousand nine hundred ninety five and
As with pretty much any truck, we do have quite a few options selected on this model
So we have the convenience package with bucket seats for one thousand five hundred and eighty dollars
the convenience package too for fourteen hundred and twenty
We also have the leather package for nine eighty five the safety package one four eight
Ninety, the black assist steps for seven fifty the bed protection package for six eighty five
Advanced trailering package for four ninety. And then when you add the destination charge of one thousand five hundred and ninety five dollars
You're going to come in at fifty six thousand eight hundred ninety five, which is a pretty good value for the Silverado lineup
It does pretty much situate it in the middle of the pack price wise
you can definitely get some that are almost seventy grand as well as cheaper ones, of course since it is a
available work truck
Well guys we've been good watching the first in-depth look at the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss

CarGurus:

hi I'm Chris Wardlaw for CarGurus and
today we're going to talk about the pros
and cons of the 2015 Chevy Silverado
now this is a Full-sized pickup truck it
competes against the Ford F-150
the RAM 1500 and the Toyota Tundra let's
get right to it
and talk about my three favorite things
about the Silverado
now it's true that my LTZ Z71 test truck
is pricey and over fifty seven thousand
dollars but
when you spend that kind of money you're
getting a lot of equipment in return for
example
full leather interior in terms of the
seats heated and ventilated front seats
you got this fully functional my-link
infotainment system complete with
navigation
and a wifi hotspot you've got a Bose
premium audio system dual zone climate
control
sunroof and more now you're probably
wondering why have these gloves on
the reason is I wanna show you that
chevy's designs truck to be used
when you have gloves on all these buttons
and noms are big enough to be used when
you're wearing gloves
in fact even the touchscreen is
touch-sensitive
when you are wearing work gloves so you
push that nav
icon the navigation system comes up go
back to home push this
audio icon the audio system comes up so
that's really nice
very thoughtful of Chevrolet to do
that now the front seats are super
comfortable
I've got no problem and the great thing
is when you get the crew cab
there's plenty of room for your crew in
the back
you can fit three adults my size easily
in this backseat
loading a Silverado is a breeze too
because it's got these
handy corner steps and
my test truck has the easy lower and lift
tailgate what you see here's a spray in
bedliner that's a new option for 2015
now my test truck is equipped with the
biggest engine you can get in a
Silverado 1500
this is a 6.2 liter v8 it makes 420
horsepower and 460
pound-feet of torque now this year this
engine is paired with a new
eight-speed automatic transmission and
it ups fuel economy by one mile per
gallon each
in city and highway driving so according
to the EPA
this version of this truck should get
15 in the city
and 21 on highway now one reason they
can get 21 miles per gallon on the
highway is the
Active Fuel Management system that is
included
with all the Silverado's engines and
basically what that technology does is
it shuts half the cylinders down when
you're
not needing the extra power so if you're
steady-state cruising on the Interstate
or if you're coasting downhill or you're
coasting up to
a red light now during my test driving
I got 15.8 miles per gallon
out of the truck just short
of the EPA's 17 MPG rating in
combined driving
now another great thing about the
Silverado is its got class competitive
towing and hauling ratings
this is a four-wheel-drive crew cab with
the Short Box
it's got the 6.2 liter v8 engine and so
it's rated to tow
eleven thousand eight hundred pounds and
tackle a payload weighing up to two
thousand sixty pounds
now the Ford F 150 matches
this Silverado when it's equivalently
optioned
in terms of towing capacity the Ford will
haul 20 extra pounds and its bed
but otherwise the Silverado's numbers
beat the RAM 1500
and a Toyota Tundra so those are a few
of the things that I really like about
the Silverado
but find out what I'm not so crazy about
now one of the things I was thinking
about the whole time I was driving the
Silverado
was how great it would be to have a
diesel engine option
and then I realized that in most parts of the
country gas is really cheap
diesel engine options are really
expensive so forget that that's not a
con
right now what is the con is that
when you've got the z71 off-road
suspension
and all the things that go along with
the z71 package
this truck should be off road ready but
it's not
and I'm going to explain why you see this air
dam down here
it's designed to improve airflow and
aerodynamics for better fuel economy you
try to go off roading with that
installed
gonna chew it up in no time the second
problem is that my trucks got these
optional step rails
what these do is they serve to ruin
your break over angle completely
and I speak from experience on this
front because I've driven
a Silverado z71 off-road and I've gotten
the truck damn near high centered
because it had those rails otherwise the
truck is brilliant
when you take it panned really difficult
terrain just make sure to get rid of
that air damn
and don't get the step-rails
now even though the Silverado's got
a long hood and these thick windshield
pillars
it's fairly easy to see out at this
truck and these wide side mirrors are
part of the reason why
Chevy thoughtfully provides this convex
section
of the driver side mirror to make it
really easy to see your blind spot
but while this truck comes with forward
collision warning and lane departure
warning systems
you can't get a blind spot warning
system the matter how much money you
have to spend
that makes me a little bit crazy because
in my opinion
blind spot warning systems are one of the most
important safety innovations in the past
fifteen years Chevy needs to offer that
as an option
soon as possible
now I'm holding here basically a blown-up
version of my truck's window sticker
and you'll see right here that this truck was built in Mexico and that 52
percent of the parts content
came from Mexico now I think some truck
buyers might take issue with that
in fact according to several respected
made in America indices
the Silverado is actually the least
American full-size truck you can buy
aside from its corporate twin the GMC
Sierra
and the Nissan Titan so what's the
verdict when it comes to the Chevy
Silverado
should you go test drive one right away
if this truck a work in progress
or should you just cross it right off
your list well
I think that as long as you like the way
this truck looks and that the towing and
payload ratings meet your requirements
you're probably not going to regret
buying this truck be sure to check my

and thanks for watching up
