Hello and welcome back to another video walkaround by myself Dakota
down here at Sherwood Park Chev
Today were going to be taking a walkthrough of this
2011 GMC Yukon SLT
This is a 4 door, 4 wheel drive, SUV
that seats up to a whopping 8 people
Under the hood we have a 5.3 litre V8 engine
that kicks out 320 HP
and 335 lb-ft of torque
On the front: daytime running lights of course
front fog lights
front tow hooks, and that gorgeous chrome grille
Coming on down the side your going to be riding on top of
17 inch Bridgestone mud and snow tires
With 4 wheel disc brakes, those gorgeous alloy wheels
And coming on in you'll see there is a fair amount of tread left
and of course that rock guard all the way around
Coming down the side you'll see body matching handles and body side moldings
to prevent your doors from getting any dents and dings in them
Those body side moldings do have those chrome details on it as well
We have running boards to assist you in and out of this vehicle
Folding side mirrors with the turn light indicators
And coming up to the top
roof rails to help you mount anything that you want to take along with you
Well thats not it
There's a multitude of features on the inside
So if you'll join me I'll show you them now
Helping you into this 2011 GMC Yukon is this handy-dandy key with key fob
So you do have the lock, the unlock, the remote start, and the trunk releases there
as well as your panic button which I will not demonstrate today
Pressing unlock once to unlock your drivers door
twice to unlock all your doors
Coming on in you'll see that the door does open up nice and wide giving you
alot of access to that drivers seat
Storage on the bottom
9 speakers all throughout
This simulated wood grain detail which just adds a little level of luxury
to this vehicle
You're power windows, mirrors, and locks
Your heated and memory settings for your seats
The interior of this vehicle has a great feel to it
very comfortable. The light tan leather upholstery bucket seats
are just great
We have the power adjustable
so
you can set your vehicle *laughs* your seat to whatever height
whatever settings are the comfiest for you
the back lumbar support there
We have a tilt steering wheel
Your setting there for your automatic lights
and 4-wheel drive
Coming on in and starting her up for ya
You'll see that we have the ABS brakes and traction control of course
The odometer reads only 90,456 kilometers
We have an external tempurature display of 15 degrees outside
and we are facing South
So just using the buttons over here on the side
you can go through a couple of the settings
So you have a trip, your fuel range till empty
Your average fuel economy, fuel used
there's a timer
Transmission tempurature, instant economy
and back to the beginning
You have your oil life, your units, your tire pressure monitoring system
your engine hours, and then just a couple of setting you can change there
Coming on to the ergonomically designed leather wrapped steering wheel
with the custom stitching
We have cruise control options here on this side
as well as audio options on this side
Turning up the radio
and pressing this button once
will just mute the audio
but pressing and holding it will activate the Bluetooth
"Ready?"
Cancel
"Cancel. Thank you. Goodbye"
So some great features to keep your eyes on the road
your hands on the wheel

We have AM/FM radio, CD player, AUX input
As well as tri-zone climate control
So you can change the tempurature
For yourself
or your passenger
but you also have the rear climate
Air conditioning, two 12 volt outlets
Adjustable pedals, parking assist, and traction control
Additional storage down here, cup holders
In the center armrest we have a very deep storage
You can see the headphones, and controlers there for the DVD player, which I will show you later
USB and an additional 12 volt outlet there
We have a locking glove box

And coming up to the top, OnStar of course, but what
my favourite feature is, and what my favourite feature in any vehicle is
if they have it
Is a tilt and sliding sunroof so
On days,
probably not today, it's a little bit rainy out
but on days that are nice and sunny, you can have that open
Go for a cruise, let the sun shine in
and
there is the shade there if you are not wanting to have that open
Alright, well there are a bunch of features in the back
so if you'll join me I'll show you them now
Coming on into the back
you are going to see that you have plenty of space back here
for your passengers
Once again that gorgeous leather upholstery
On the back of the driver and passenger seats, is this vinyl backing
with the map holders. But of course
One of the great features that this vehicle does have
are the DVD players
So your kids are going to remain entertained
You don't have to worry about hearing "Mommy and Daddy are we there yet?"
Rear reading lights
and a 60/40 split folding rear bench
with cupholders here in the center
And folding it down
you'll see that you do gain access to that third-row seating
so like I said once again
you have room to fit, potentially up to 8 people in here
Coming on to the back
You'll see we have those parking sensors
a back-up camera
as well as
Just using this key fob once again
Pressing and holding this button will release the window
but pressing and holding this button here will release the back hatch
Just like magic, folds up like that
If your not wanting the third row seating
or if you are only wanting a part of it folded down
You simple pull these buttons here and it will fold up
Which I can't really demonstrate with you
demonstrate to you, because I only have one hand
but it does fold up, giving you alot of versatility
You'll still be able to haul a bunch
a bunch of stuff in this Yukon
So just pressing this button up here
Folds it down just like that
You have a tarilering, er you have a hitch back here
With the 7 pin and there is the
spare tire just tucked away underneath there
You can really see how this will be a fantastic family vehicle
haul the kids or whatever
toys you want to take away for the weekend in here
Once again that back seat
Looks absolutely gorgeous
You can really see how
you'll be able to fit anybody else in here
I can't remember if I mentioned but there is that climate control back here
the back seats in here are heated as well
So absolutely lovely, what a wonderful feature

2017 GMC Yukon XL Denali - Hammes Family Vacation Review | TestDriveNow

It's been 4 years since the last time the
3 of us packed-up and headed south for a little
R&R.
Now, this may come as a surprise but I don't
really relish driving over 22 hours on I-95
even if it is to sunny Florida.
But just like last time, I've summoned the
help of a GMC to make the voyage a little
easier…or in the case of the Yukon XL Denali,
a lot easier.
Winters are long in upstate New York and spring
blooms pretty late here.
I’ve seen snowstorms in mid-May, so visions
of South Florida beaches have been dancing
in our heads for many months.
I’ve done this drive more times than I care
to remember and the older I get the less tolerance
I have for it.
So I felt relieved when I read through the
specs of this fully loaded 2017 Yukon XL Denali.
It literally has every feature I want for
this type of driving; blind spot monitoring,
adaptive cruise control, head-up display,
navigation, Apple Car Play, Wi-Fi, a Blu-Ray
rear entertainment system with an abundance
of connections and of course, lots of cargo
room.
Those are my priority points.
The fact that it also packs in tri-zone climate
control, heated and cooled seats, auto wipers
and high beams and just about every other
safety and creature comfort means all I have
to do is babysit the steering wheel.
And that’s what I-95 driving is…a never-ending
game of traffic chess.
This isn’t enjoyable driving, so anything
to soothe the nerves and calm the temper is
welcome and this Yukon has that angle completely
covered.
It’s massive with an extra 20” of length
but slicing through traffic is remarkably
easy.
GM is the authority on making big trucks drive
like cars and even Lara felt comfortable taking
the helm.
Parking can cause some heartburn but with
power folding mirrors, front and rear park
assist and a backup cam it’s manageable.
A 360 degree surround view camera would make
for a nice addition.
When I first learned our vacation vehicle
was going to be a Yukon XL, I thought it was
way more than the 3 of us needed.
And while we have an abundance of space, it's
this GMC's other attributes that make it the
ultimate road warrior.
Magnetic Ride Control is a boon to whatever
GM vehicle receives it and these special shocks
do wonders for both ride quality and body
motion control.
There’s no slop here when you’re aggressively
overtaking and everything beneath the tires
seems to just disappear.
It’s that smooth.
And I can’t believe how effective the active
noise cancellation is, especially considering
this is a huge rig, with a brawny V8 and 22”
tires.
I've averaged over 20mpg and highway passing
with this V8 is never an issue.
Our biggest surprises; it's library quiet
and the ride quality is wonderfully soft and
composed.
This 6.2-liter V8 makes 420 horsepower and
460 pound-feet of torque yet with new front
active aero shutters and a V4 mode, this 4X4
scored us stellar mileage and the driving
range is off the charts…almost 700 miles
on the highway.
I’ve put in the recommended premium gas
but it’ll run on 87.
Arriving to our destination as rested as possible,
the Yukon did its job admirably.
A couple of suggestions for add-ons would
be speed limit information and queue assist
for the adaptive cruise control so in crazy
stop and go traffic you wouldn’t have to
even lift a foot.
The boxy, angular design isn’t particularly
modern and for a Denali I’d like to see
even more differentiation, particularly in
the cabin where aesthetics take a 3rd row
seat to functionality…it’s easy to use
but doesn’t look like an $80,000 SUV.
And with just about every option, that’s
where this one lands, at $80,890.
That’s no doubt big money but I can’t
get over how many of these I’ve seen on
the road so GMC no doubt has a willing customer
base.
So GMC and the Hammes’ are 2 for 2.
There’s no better way to get to know a vehicle
than to basically live in it with your family
for 2 weeks and the Yukon Denali exceeds expectations
in every regard.
As we say goodbye to palm trees, water slides
and 80 degree temps, home is calling.
The family truckster has matured exponentially
since I was a kid and some might say we’ve
gone soft with all of these fancy comforts
but driving isn’t what it once was either
with congestion one of our country’s biggest
problems and a vehicle like this can be the
difference between arriving
calm and going cuckoo.

When the Escalade is a little too rich for
your blood and a Chevy a tad too plebian,
GMC is right there to perfectly meet your
large SUV needs.
The all-new 2021 Yukon and its extra-long
brother the Yukon XL have plenty of new tricks
up their sleeves including an even more luxurious
Denali model and the addition of the more
rugged AT4 trim.
Families will appreciate the Yukon’s nearly
5” longer wheelbase which substantially
expands 3rd row legroom and max cargo volume.
The Yukon XL also grows in those regards but
more modestly.
A new sliding 2nd row seat makes getting in
and out of that 3rd row easier than ever.
Of course, the new independent rear suspension
also plays a role in the smarter packaging
as well as elevating the Yukon’s ride sophistication.
If you’ve ever driven a GM vehicle with
Magnetic Ride Control you know how amazing
these shocks can be at controlling the body
and furthering handling while an available
air suspension should really take the edge
off and provide an additional 2” of ground
clearance when off-roading.
The big 6.2 V8 puts out 420 horsepower while
the standard engine is the familiar 5.3 liter
V8.
Rounding out the offerings is a new 3.0-liter
turbo-diesel which GMC says will lead in fuel
efficiency.
A 10-speed auto and new 4-wheel drive system
aim to improve traction, handling and overall
control.

supports off-road capability with an up to
32 degree approach angle, recovery hooks,

that can slide back up to 10” for expanded
