MyChevrolet App: Overview

MyChevrolet App: Overview

Bachman Chevrolet:

In this video we're gonna be looking at
the MyChevrolet App.
So here's the app a new open it. A grid of 9 apps total.
First app is roadside assistance. It
shows and pinpoints your car and gives
you a number that you can call for
assistance. Next we've got a parking reminder.
Again, shows you where your car is, it allows you to add a photo as a reminder,
so it opens up your camera so you can take a picture of your car.
And you can also set a note, so you can
remind yourself in words.
For example, "it's over there"...not
very helpful, but that's where your car is.
Next we've got the schedule service, so you can find which dealer you want, what cars
coming in,
what kind of service you need, when you
need to be in a now and out. Then to find a
dealer you can
use your current location, search by zip code, search by dealer name,
or set your preferred dealer.
The next icon is Chevy's current offers
icon and it allows you
to look through all of Chevy's current offers on service and maintenance.
Next is the owner's manual and it's a
digital manual
for your vehicle, so you can look through everything that you would
be able to look through in the physical
manual in your vehicle.
You've also got the lights and indicators
tab that shows you all the different lights
or indicators that may pop up
on your dashboard that you wouldn't know and it gives you a description of what they mean.
Next you've the profile settings, and that
allows you to custom
and tailor the app to you and your
vehicle.
Finally, one of the coolest features is the
OnStar remote link.
Now you have to have this setup with
OnStar,
but it allows you to look through your
wifi connection in your car,
hands-free calling. The map setting
allows you to find where your car is and
pinpoint it, and you can also send
directions.
So I wanna go to Starbucks; I can find it.
I can either call them
or send turn by turn to my car.
Next I can look through my vehicle status
and that shows me my fuel range, my oil
life,
and my tire pressure.
Also it shows me my fuel efficiency.
So over the lifetime the mpgs, how
many miles I've gone,
but the coolest feature is the key fob. It allows me
to lock, unlock, remote start, cancel the start,
turn on the horn and lights, and stop
the horn and lights.
So we'll show you a small
demonstration of the key fob feature,
which is everyone's favorite.
So here we have our Malibu and I just
remote locked it.
So there it's locked, now I'm gonna hit
remote start button.
Now it will take a moment considering
that I'm actually sending the signal to
a satellite
an OnStar satellite in space and
sending it back to the car, but it's
really cool.
There you can see it locks,
and the other lights turn on to show that it just started. Alright now, I'm gonna cancel that start.
I didn't really mean to turn on my car.
So now it's gonna send that signal
again and there it
went, it turned off.
Okay so now my mother-in-law called
me and told me that my car,
somebody's trying to break in my car,
while I'm at the airport so I turn on the horn
and lights.
Pretty helpful.
Now they've run away and I don't
wanna leave it in an airport parking lot
honking,
so hit the button and it turns off.
So that's how to use the MyChevrolet
app and
the accompanying
the OnStar remote link app.

How To Use Android Auto Phone in 2017 Chevy Silverado

How To Use Android Auto Phone in 2017 Chevy Silverado

Will Tinney:

One of my favorite features in the 2017 Chevy Silverado is the ability to connect
and use, Android Auto!
Android Auto is an app that you will want to download from the Playstore and install on your phone.
To get started with Android Auto, all you have to do is connect this cable right here (USB cable)
You'll notice that the Android Auto icon pops right up.
This is Android Auto.
In the center we have the home screen button
and the we have your music and playlists.
and then we can quickly return to the Chevy MyLink system if we choose to do so.
If you're ever lost in the app, just select Android Auto home button.
You have your phone icon right here that takes you to your smartphone and contacts.
the menu display, you have your voicemail, a dialer, call history and missed calls shown
It's like your phone.
And you have directions (GPS) which is basically Google Maps!
One of the most fascinating things about Android Auto is it uses the Google Now network.
Say: OK Google
Directions to Gerald R Int Airport
-- Android Auto: Google listens --
Android Auto says: Gerald R International airport is 18 minutes from
from your car in light traffic --
Just like that, there is your destination mapped out (showing Google Maps in Android Auto
We'll select the quickest route
Texts messages in Android auto is just as easy!
You can listen to the message just by tapping on it.
Android Autot says: Here's the message.
The proposal looks great -- says Android Auto
You can press the voice button and and say reply.
I hope you appreciate this video.

How To Connect Your Apple CarPlay in Your Chevrolet Silverado

How To Connect Your Apple CarPlay in Your Chevrolet Silverado

Will Tinney:

Another tech-savvy feature in the Chevrolet Silverado
Is the ability to be able to connect both Android Auto
and, as I am going to demonstrate in this video, Apple CarPlay.
Notice this projection icon.
That's the icon you're going to want to pay attention to while setting up your phone for Apple CarPlay.
Setting up your iPhone for Apple CarPlay is easy!
You're going to use the lightning cable that came with your iPhone.
Once inserted into the phone you may notice a blue bar on top.
And, your iPhone will say Apple CarPlay.
You'll also notice that this tile icon now says Apple CarPlay.
And, the Bluetooth is disconnected.
When using Apple CarPlay it is very similar to using Chevrolet MyLink
However, the experience is much like that of any Apple device.
You'll notice that the layout and icons are very similar.
You have your Home button, you have your signal strength to your iPhone or if you are connected to WiFi,
You Also have the time,
Then you have the layout of your iPhone... Phone, Music, Maps, Messages,
what's playing now, if you have Podcasts saved on your phone,
Audio books,
and other related media.
One of my personal favorites in CarPlay, when using the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, is
is the ability to summons Siri to get directions to just about anywhere.
For this example I'm going to push the Voice Command button which is located on the steering wheel.
Beep - Find the nearest Starbuck's coffee - beep
Siri says: The nearest one I found is Starbucks on health drive SW.
Let me know if you want more information
With one touch of a button and one single voice command
you can find the Starbuck's, using Apple CarPlay, nearest you.
If I want to go here I just hit "Go"
One thing you'll notice is that any of the app's when open
when they are open, their icons will be stored over here.
So if you want to get out of one app and be able to go back, let's say your music
you can see what's playing here
but instead of just hitting the back button, I can go
I can go right to here, in this Apple CarPlay app, and it'll use Apple Maps to take me to the destination I was going.
This is handy if you're traveling and you need to bounce between several apps
and different things such as the radio
and also GPS
Another great thing about using Apple Maps in CarPlay, is that other
destinations that you may have used before in the past
are going to be stored from your iPhone
because it's pulling it into CarPlay from your iPhone
Driving while staying connected is great when using Apple CarPlay.
If you receive a text message.
You'll simply see the message right here
You don't even have to respond to it, but you'll know at least you have a message.
When you have time though,
You can select the SMS message
Siri says: You have a message from someone with a 616 area code.
Siri reads the Apple CarPlay text in the 2017 Chevy: Thank you for the email
Siri asks: Do you want to reply?
Beep, Yes... Siri says: Go ahead...
No problem!
I'll send you another email when I get to the office: Apple CarPlay SMS text demonstration.
Siri reads back from Apple CarPlay the text message: Ok, it says...
No problem, I'll send you another email when I get back to the office.
Siri will then ask you, in Apple car Play, if you want to send it.
What I like about that is you can make corrections to a text in real-time using Siri in Apple CarPlay.
It's just like using your iPhone, but you're not being taken away from, or distracted from driving with what's going on here on the Chevy's MyLink touch screen.
I hope you appreciate this video

Will Tinney:

To access Apple CarPlay, select the Apple CarPlay icon.
From here your infotainment system works like any other App device.
For example, in the lower lefthand corner you have the home button.
Above that is going to be your signal strength and your time.
Next to that is the phone icon, music icon, maps,
and then messages.
Below you have now playing, podcasts that might be saved,
audio books in your library and
other features that may be associated with audio files
To access Siri for things like directions, push the
push and hold the talk icon on your steering wheel.
To get directions simply tap on the maps selection shown.
Once the map opens up, all you have to do is select go.
When receiving a text message in Apple CarPlay
all you have to do is select on the message.

How To Use Android Auto Phone in 2017 Chevy Colorado

How To Use Android Auto Phone in 2017 Chevy Colorado

Will Tinney:

Congratulations on your new 2017 Chevrolet Colorado.
In this video we are going to show you how to pair your Android smartphone using Bluetooth
To the Chevrolet MyLink.
We'll also show you how easy it is to connect Android Auto.
Here's how to pair your phone using Bluetooth.
Step one, select the phone icon.
Step two, select pair device.
Now, select the settings icon from your phone.
Go to Bluetooth
Under Bluetooth, you'll see Chevrolet MyLink pop-up.
Select that.
Select OK to Bluetooth pairing request.
Select yes on the screen.
Now your phone is successfully paired to the Chevrolet MyLink system.
Once your phone is successfully paired
You can now send and receive calls as well as send and receive text messages.
For example, when a call comes in, you won't have to touch your phone at all.
Other great features when your phone is paired by Bluetooth
Is the fact you can access all of your contacts. Select the phone icon.
You'll see your contacts listed... You can also go to recent calls.
You can also go to voicemail.
And you can pair other phones or see what other phones in the family are paired.
To pair another phone, you can go to pair device.
And follow the steps in the beginning of the video.
The current phone that is connected is listed under the connected icon
To disconnect that phone, you'll want to select the "X"
It'll then ask if you want to disconnect your device
When your Android phone is successfully paired to your Chevrolet MyLink system
in your new 2017 Colorado
You can send and receive text messages
without ever looking at your phone.
At this point you can listen to the message
view the message,
or dismiss it.
In this case we'll listen to the message
At this point you can reply by selecting the reply icon
or call the person back.
For this example we are going to reply.
On an Android phone you can use
pre-selected text messages.
such as, call you later,
or driving and can't talk right now.
You could also add
new predefined messages by selecting that
The first thing you need to do to use Android Auto is to download the app from the Playstore
Once downloaded, please accept the permissions.
This will allow Android Auto to work seamlessly
In your new 2017 Chevrolet Colorado
What's Android Auto is connected it works just like Google Now.
All you have to say is OK Google
Show me directions to Kent County Airport
Google Now talking back
It's that simple
Similar to when you pair your phone by Bluetooth to your
2017 Chevrolet Colorado
Android Auto also works the same
hands-free calling features
Another similar feature is that you can also access voicemail,
call history, missed calls,
or even dial from Android Auto.
Real quick we will cover the icons at the bottom of the screen in Android Auto.
The first one in the lower left corner is for directions, which is basically Google Maps.
The second one is the phone icom
which allows you to access all of the calling features we just discussed.
The next one is going to be the home botton.
which anytime you get lost in an app, just hit the home button and it'll take you back to the home screen.
Next is the music app
Next to that is the icon to go back to Chevy MyLink
Using the music app in Android Auto is just like using it on your phone.
You can select through your playlist, select a song
And thumbs-up it or thumbs down it.
Thanks for watching the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado MyLink and Android Auto how-to video.

Onstar | General Motors

Onstar | General Motors

Tixuz:

Hello friends I´m Sergio Oliveira, and here we have
Eduardo Vargas. As usual, and today we also have a good friend here
Alfonso Monreal from Onstar Mexico
we have known each other for
maybe lets not say how long,
but for me he is Poncho, how are you poncho? very good thank you
I´m really happy to be with you guyes here today
thank you again,
we had the
squad for stolen vehicles from the police station
for Zapopan and we asked about ways
that people can use
to protect their investments, in this case their cars
and i mentioned Onstar and they looked at me
very confused as to what type of food that is.
so from there we got the idea for you to come
and explain to everyone
about Onstar, what is Onstar?
thank you, Onstar is a service
for communication and safety which is personalized
from General Motors, for General Motors

its a combination of technology
and support service that
is integrated
in the vehicles, how does it work?
its very easy to operate, the control
is in the rearview mirror
there are 3 buttons, a blue button, a red button
which make the connections and a
white or black button
which is useful when driving
from there the vehicle counts with
basically having an integrated phone
from there you make a connection by
pressing a button
and they answer in
a core center which we have developed
for these kinds of services, this all has
history with very old technology
were talking about 20 years of technological developments
from a long time ago
for the things we have developed
Onstar had its 20th aniversary a few days ago on the 26th of September
the objective for the development of Onstar was
to help people who use cars
a little bit more
than what you could get by local assistance
and that is where the idea came from, to use technology
to get information on the vehicles
ll the time, we know that
vehicles have a computer
or many computers for transportation, they have
sensors everywhere and what General Motors did
to say we are going to use those sensors
we are going to use that information
but were also going to put someone there to help you
use that information, and from there comes the idea for the point for communication
once we press the button
and the connection is made, we are answered by an adviser
this is avaliable 24 hours a day
any day of the week
and since its personalized they can ask you how you are by name
and how can i help you? and generally speaking clients are refered to by their last name
but what they do is know in what vehicle you are in
they know where you are
they know if you are moving, and at what speed your going
-Big Brother which Orson wells
was talking about, in 1984, he missed the year
Its important to know that its not a Big Brother
because it happens only after you press the button
but it doesn´t have a camera right? it does not. So you can´t see in there
with your girlfriend or any of that? That does not happen
Its only a phone, but what does it do?
what is its function? you have 3 buttons there
and you press it and they answer and then what?
i saw a comercial with a mokey in the back
that hit the robber
a little mokey came out and cleaned the windshield
something like that. Lets say that at the moment
that you make the connection they ask you what
they can do for you, it works because
your somewhere and want to find a place that you don´t know
or a point of interest
a point of interest could be a gallery
a bakery - thats something a GPS does isn´t it?
but here a person does it while your driving
and you don´t have to stop and
input the information into the GPS; you just press the button and the person
answers and asks how they can help you
i want to go to this adress
or im looking for this or that
or i want to go to this place
and that can be in a city or anywhere
in our country, for navigation. That is an advantage
i understand what that is worth
i was also doubtful of it before using
the system for the first time
but what Alfonso is saying is true because
your driving and many times
its not that you don´t want to stop its that
you can´t and if you do stop, you might not know how
to operate it
in an efficient way to be
able to find a specific bakery
and here your not going to talk with a computer
which is preprogramed
with information and
if its not there then too bad, your talking to a real person
which has a GPS
which help from google maps
or anything else, and they can help you find your way
and they are going to tell you where to go
but if halfway through you say
you also need somethign else, they can send you
the route through GPS
but the GPS system from Onstar is only
one of their services
but as you asked, whats it good for?
i told you about
the location part and to be able to know other things say
your going on the highway and you don´t know the current state of the car
and one of the lights on the dashboard goes on,
you press the button and ask them what it means
and they give you a disgnotic of the vehicle - thats awesome.
so they make a diagnostic for the vehicle ask for
a minute or two to get results
so it sens a message to the system for information
and it tells you that the light that is on
means that you have to check the transmission
If you didn´t fill up on gas, your clearly not going anywhere
which is something that the person on the line might not tell you- yeah they won´t tell you that
but they will tell you
an oil change, transmission needs to be serviced
the ABS need to be checked
the Onstar system needs to be checked. So you can take it to your mechanic before goign out? yes
you know how they say
if your going out on the highway
take it to your mechanic, but you wouldn´t need to, you just press the button
and you have a mechanic there to tell you of any issues
you have a scaner avaliable 24 hours a day
its a scaner, not a mechanic a mechanic
might be able to fix any issues, but lets go
to a short break and we´ll be back shortly
that okay? yes, okay then. We´re going on a short break, don´t leave.
We´re back boys.
very well we are back and will continue talking with Poncho Monreal about
Onstar which is a service
from General Motors, we talked about
the navigation service and diagnostics,
the diagnostics
at the momment when the caer presents a failure
which could happen anytime, sometimes
we can´t recognize some problems
with the vehicle, if your husband or mom is around
i have something here,
that looks like rain
so what does that mean?
and by having the disgnostic
you can know if its a serrious problem
i recommend looking- before they recommend
anything they offer to make an appointment for you at the distributor
which you put in your registry - or the nearest one
or the nearest one if your traveling
so you can go to the distributor, so they make that contact for you
and they program the service, maintenance
and repair for the problems the diagnostic
is presenting and what
other uses does it have?
we have a mobile application
on smart phones, in which you can
see how much fuel you have as well as efficiency, and you can also
see the vehicle from there, start the
vehicle from there, turn on the lights
from there, and why? because
if your at a parking lot
and you don´t remember where you parked. Its happened to me before, i had to use the car alarm
so it would make a sound. So from there you can
open the application and make the lights and alarm
go off and you can locate it from there
saying oh its a floor below, or above
or on the other side- but in a lower one you wouldn´t get any signal
it would have to be in one that does not have a roof right?
we´re had experiences where it can be a level lower
or even up to 2 levels below. it goes that far? yes.
In some - its not GPS necessarily
its actually a signal. Okay.
so the car sends a message
its not like satelite music
where you lose the signal in a tunnel
or a bridge or something like that
because this is the combination of GPS, and data signals
VIA a phone line
how many times does it happen where you have a few bags in your hands and you press
or you don´t even use the key to open the car that much
just by getting close you open the car
open the trunk, put everything in close it
and realize you forgot the keys inside, it doesn´t happen as often now
but it does happen
can i open it with the phone?
you can open it with the phone, obviously
there is a code you need, which is what i was about to ask about, if they steal my phone can they take my car too? No
because there is a security code
you decide what you want your code to be, like a pin number with a credit card

and you do that on your phone
and after that you can acess it
no real problems there. And then we have the subject of accidents

thats where i was going, these are the services
for assistance the services for emergencies
which is the red button is the topic that
for us, is the most important
greater added value
why? because in an accident
you crash, and the vehicle sends the information
from the accident
and by all the information i mean at what speed you crashed
the real speed, not the speed of travel
the speed of the impact
the location, and it sends details of
GPS coordinates as well as maps
a map like the one you would see in google maps
which everyone knows. Who do they send it to?
to our advisor, its like the car made the phone call
because of the impact. The car says
hey we crashed im right here
to you guys, and what do you do?
at that momment the call
comes directly into the vehicle to ask you
if anyone is injured, how many people are in the car
to know the situation inside the
vehicle, because at that time our advisor
knows where you are, what kind of car it is
at what speed you were going
if the airbags shot out, if there
multiple impacts, all of those things
is reflected by the system. If it was something
sorry for interupting you, if it was something
very dangerous and the system saw
that there was an accident, it calls and there is no response,
what do you do in that case? in that case
the advisor asks if
your alright and if anyone is injured, and if there is no response at that time
it connects the call to the authorities
- police, fireman, ambulance- our opening is the 911 which is
was recently changed last week

that has not happened here in Jalisco yet. I´m not sure

its 066 -but the reality is that
its a transformation to concentrate all of their operations
044, sorry i mean 066 which is where
the emergency system transforms into
911, but they
will start to concentrate that even further
for all emergency services
which they already have,
but they want to further integrate it
so if im in an accident, they would call me
and ask if everyone is fine and how
can i help you? its as if you took your cellphone and called
a friend to come get you
or a tow truck or something like that
if anything is wrong, they we call the authorities
and tell them there was an accident and they are not
responding
we assume there are injured people, we cannot say with certainty
because many times
people get into an accident
and the first thing they do is get out of the vehicle
its what we all do. and many people stay in the vehicle
and are shocked, and there are many people that do not know what to do
who do they call, where are the insurance papers
who do i have to call? You get very nervous
saying fuck, and not knowing what to do
what our advisors do is tell them not to worry
that they will call the insurance company and the police
would you like me to call a family member?
who shall i call? give me the number and i´ll call
i´ll make the connection, what we do in that sense
is to make things easier for the person
in the vehicle
keep them company, help them calm down, and resolve everything for them
doing everything we are able to do, we have
very strong connectiong with all of the authorities
in the country, and thats why Jalisco is a state that
-well, is that true? because the police
told us they had no idea about that
and really tell the truth because then people
will say that its not true. Cevrolet also has
Onstar from about 2 or 3 years ago
you´ve worked with them as well
do you get the reports from Onstar? do you know
what im talking about? no, not Onstar. I´m going to say yes
our point of entry has always been the center for emegency
services
they are the ones who make the connections
with all the coorporations
the first example of a vehicle which
was stolen was right here in Jalisco
from a person who came from Sinaloa
they stole a Chyenne truck from him
and the Authorities from Jalisco - he literally keept asking about the cheyenne.
but that is something else
you were talking about accidents
does it also work
as a locator, as a tracker, like
Lojack so everyone can understand
does it have that system integrated?
within that system there are multiple systems, such as GPS to locate the vehicle
there is a very simple process, if they steal your car
and you call us and tell us they stole your vehicle
we pass you over to the authorities and
legally we have to go through
a process where you make the report and i connect you
and they will generate code for you
and from that moment on you have an official report
that your vehicle was stolen within
their system and then you have to
go to the public ministry and do all that.
yeah, but it was stolen, I´m asking if you can help me find it. I´m not going to help you
and i´ll tell you why
because you are reporting the vehicle
I´m not going to help you find it
im going to help you get it back and im going to help the authorities
to find it, its a little separated because
-there are risks involved,
lets say its in the back street, you go there and

you could be in danger. Exactly, and
we don´t want to put you in danger, so we tell the authorities
the vehicle is here or
is moving in this direction
and we apply two different tools
at the time we get that number for the report you made
which i helped you to make
i start treating it as officially
stolen, at that time
i send a signla to the vehicle
which blocks the enginge from running
you can block it from far away? we can block it remotely.
which is something people don´t understand.
so if i call you guys and say my car was stolen
you can turn it off wherever it may be?
you can do that in some circumstances. Let me explain this so you don´t get confused, when a car is blocked
after the car is turned off, the car can no longer
be started,
and they have to turn it off sometime- they do
even to just go to the bathroom, its not like they would leave it on,
unless its stolen from the people who stole it from you
and the other thing is that we can
also slow down the car, but we only do that
in coordination with the authorities
im talking to them
and telling them, its nighttime by the way
and its a black cheyenne and at nightime all dark
colered Cheyenne will look black, i send a signal
to the vehicle which make the
back lights turn on without the
passengers knowing. Like saying there it is.
like saying this is the vehicle you want to follow
because there might be a few of them
or maybe you don´t know exactly which one it is
and that is how we identify it, and the police tells us they have located it
its on this road and we see it, at that time we
send a signal
which stops the vehicle from accelerating any further
everything works, the breaks as well as
steering, you could stop and put it in neutral
with what your telling me, i feel like
your telling me about a movie from the United States
and everything that heppens there, does this really happen in Mexico?
do the police really go and you guys
are in contact with them, has that really happened? yes it has
deacceleration is a topic
that we have yet to apply here
but what is blocking the motor has happened and thaks to that tool
that first tool we have recovered
all of the vehicles that have Onstar
which hhave been stolen. Thats something i wanted to ask you about
and by all vehicles
you mean the expensive ones right?
or do the cheap ones have it too? yes, well, not all of them have it
not all of them but we do have 27 models
within the 4 brands of General Motors and from
the smallest one which today is the Spark Activ
and the biggest one is the Sport Utility from Cadillac

The escalade and once you get
past all of these the one
with the biggest volume is the Chevrolet Trax
of all the Models we have
the ones that have the Onstar system the most on the streets

is the Chevrolet Trax. its the one that needs it the most, you know
how they get all hysterical, but its not the
most sold. Its not the most sold
but its the one that most frequently has Onstar.
it is, and we just announced
the Sonic not too long ago,
the Cruze. But here comes the part
which i don´t think anyone will like
its all sounds very nice, but is it expensive? yes of course
how much does it cost? really its not a big cost. but for who? how much is a big cost?
for people like you that make alot, but for the general public
like us, how much does it cost? here ya go, when you buy a vehicle with the Onstar system, its already integrated
its not an acessory, its not something they sell apart.
do all of them- the ones that have it, have it
the ones that have it have it. from the fac- let me interupt you
a little bit, its not-
from a certain point
i wouldn´t know how much money exactly
but above 350,000 pesos, all of them have it
on the lower part of the spectrum
a bit lower than that, for example a Sonic
Only the Premier version has it
for now. yes, at this time. the most likely thing
is that it is going to keep going and its going
to get into all of them, or i don´t know, in the United States
all of them have it. Yes, they all do. So at some point
its going to be like that here too, i understand that
people can be a little skeptical
as lalo will understand, but let me remind you that
the first time Onstar tried to get in
Poncho Monreal was not with General Motors at that time, it was with a Chevy
there was a chevy with which they tried it
and it wasn´t exactly Onstar
but it was a base from of what Onstar would later
become, they used the same
buttons- like the first phase- exactly, so the first test
that General Motors Mexico
was with a Chevy and it will eventually go
where I´m going with this is that
if you are thinking of buying a car from General
Motors, or own one from General Motors, i think it would be good
to look around
especially if its in the lower bracket, whether or not
it has onstar, because that can make a huge difference
lets get to the price
which is the important question, you buy a vehicle with Onstar and
you get 1 year with no costs
now your convincing me
im liking this. And that is for you to try it out, get to know
it, and for you to press the button all the time
there is no difference in cost if you
press it once, or if you press it 200 times- thats what i was going to ask about.

its the same thing. Like your secretary
there is no limit. Its the Siri for GM
and you can also combine it with Apple Carplay
and Android Auto, all of those things.
at the start of the second year we invite you
to continue with the service and it costs
450 pesos a month, for the entire service
and if you pay it anually
then instead of charging 12 months, we only charge 10.
that would be 4,500 pesos a
year
thats more or less alright, because
how much does a Lojack cost? just to give everyone an idea,
7,000 8,000 or up to 12,000
I have no idea but i also have to say
after you finish talking about
with the comander of the CRIS, the vehicle recovery center
and vehicle identification for
Zapopan
he said, aving Lojack is
better than not having anything at all
but its the slowest of all the systems
a GPS is much faster. Yes that is what they say
the distance is greater and its harder
to get them back. Yes and as he was saying we might not
know them directly
and they don´t know us directly

we have spoken with the prosecution
and before we spoke to public safety for the
state
after it changed over to prosecution
our point of entry
has always been the 066 and they are the ones
distribute the information to all of the coorporations and
and they are our connection to all of that. Have you thought
about working with insurance companies
and for your insurance- there is a plan- your basically saying
i have my insurance with x company, if you have Onstar
they do it for less money - they also insclude- we as an insurance
company, by paying your insurance the service for Onstar is uncluded in the price
so people would definitely want a service like that
something like that, or just lowering the price
does that exist? we have some work developed with many insurance companies
for exactly that reason
we´ve been operating in Mexico for 3 year and these years have been
good for developing history
so that insurance companies know that stolen cars
will be recovered
the average time of recovery is
up to 4 or 5 days and the fastest
has been in 40 minutes, and all of this has been a negotiation
which is being made with insurance companies
so they can get to know us
and for them to know how it works
because not only is it a benefit
for the insurance companies, but also for the owner of the car
its just that, if they say, if your car has Onstar
your insurance policy will be cheaper, and then the service is basically free
Or course. are there companies that will do that?
there aren´t any yet. Is that something which is seen in the United States?
there is also a plan with many insurance companies as well
in the United States. Because its logical, your lowering the risk
for them, and if your decreasing the risk, then they should lower the cost
for the client. Exactly, and the part for assistance for stolen
vehicles has alot to do with it
the development, contact with insurance companies
and especilly continued contact with the authorities. That doesn´t seem expensive
to me, but its also not super cheap
but if in one of those occasion
they can find your stolen car,
then its worthwhile. What would you say
is a fair range of expenses for what
you get with Lojack, Lojack gives you
a very specific service
and we give you a much wider range of tools, not only for
when its stolen. But really
people are willing to spend money
is to take care of their car, because having a secretary
-But its something that you could use - maybe for you since you like having a secretary and-
I don´t like talking with the car
even if its with another person
i don´t like that, but that service has a much wider scope
what about when you talk on bluetooth? well yes, i do talk on the phone
but for example, giving orders to the car
telling it to play a particular song, i don´t like that
it makes me feel like an idiot, or more of an idiot than i already am. Its a personaly thing.
yes i know it is, we all have our problems
I was going to say something else because
the video is already like 20 minutes long
and they will all fall asleep
i think the most important things we have talked about are
the services, which are navigation
diagnostics, motor servicing,
and the others which are more important
is because Onstar can literally
save you life, in an accident where
you don´t know what to do or can´t do anything
or your in the middle of the road
it can literally save your life. But does- well
what if there isn´t any signal?
is it through a satelite? its a combination
both things are avaliable. Exactly
satelite, and through the phone
so the signal will go through? your god knows where and the signal will go through?
a short time ago we had an example of someone
who was coming from Monterrey and was going towards Toluca
and the highway was going towards San Luis
pasing Matehuala, around a mountain
range
and infront of them a truck flipped over
and nothing happened to them
its also very important
for people who have a vehicle with Onstar
and you see something going on around you, you can also report that
so when this person saw
the accident was trying to make a phone call
on his cellphone but he didn´t have any signal
he pressed the Onstar button and he
reported what he saw infront of him
thats really good. Yes of course it is. two questinos very quickly
is there another similar service in Mexico? No
the competition from other brands don´t have anything? no

not even Mercedes? Johnathan had told me- No
no they don´t, they do have on the road assistance
but a wide range service like Onstar, no.
we are the only company
which have it installed from the factory
and we have twenty years of experience that we can apply here in Mexico. Another quick question
those 4,500 pesos a year
or 450 pesos a month is the cost
whether it be a Sonic or an Escalade? its the same thing, and
the service is also provided in the same way
wheather it be someone fdriving a Sonic
or for someone driving a ATS, CTS
a Buick Enclave
I´m sorry Enclave still doesn´t have that avaliable, but a Buick Regal
there is no difference
depending on which car you have. One final question
the show is focused on Mexico
but we are seen throughout Latin America
do you know if there are any plans
for going into other countries? or are you already in other countries?
Yes, we are already in another country.
To let our friends here know in which places they can look for them
we recently launched it in Brazil
as well as Argentina
because they have many variables
which are adapted
for that same market, its not everything that we have here
but its there and
it will continue to evolve, the first country with all the
services apart from the United States
and Canada is Mexico, and then Brazil and Argentina
and they will continue to grow even more
but for now its Brazil and Argentina, Brazil was
last year and Argentina was this year
and it will continue to extend to other countries
they have less options than we do
the service profile is a little smaller? yes, exactly.
well at least were beating them in something
we´re not winning in safety, we´re not winning in airbags
but at least we have something.
well another thing- No, no no. Poncho thank you very much

Thank you for having me Sergio. Thank you everyone, goodbye.
