2019 Chevrolet Camaro v Ford Mustang Comparison | carsales

carsales.com.au:

[Marton] After 40 years of Falcon versus Commodore,
welcome to the new V8 rear-drive grudge match.
Camaro versus Mustang.
[Bruce] Come on Marty, this one writes itself.
The Mustang is newer, it’s cheaper, it’s
got more gear.
[Marton] Bruce, the Camaro is more exclusive,
it’s got a bigger V8 and it looks the duck’s
guts.
[Bruce] So what are we going to do?
[Marton] Well, one of two things, road or
track?
[Bruce] Well what about both?
[Marton] For once, we agree.
If you’re watching this you’ll know the
latest Mustang is the first global factory
model.
While the Camaro comes to us via HSV which
is converting just 550 examples initially
and that’s why they’re a lot more expensive.
Both are 2018 models but while that means
the Mustang GT is upgraded with a 10-speed
auto and new driver safety aides, the Camaro
misses out on them but matches the Ford for
power and beats it for torque.
At $86,000 plus on-road costs, the Camaro
is almost 20 grand pricier than the Mustang,
but that hasn’t stopped up to 80% of them
being pre-sold.
[Bruce] So Marty, one of the big talking points
about the Camaro is being the local right-hand
drive conversion job by holding special vehicles.
I’ve got to say, I’m pretty impressed.
They’ve done a great job.
It’s almost to OE standard, I reckon.
[Marton] I agree.
You’d be hard pressed to pick at it.
If anything, the Mustang looks more like a
conversion than this because the handbrake
and the volume knob are both on the wrong
side.
[Bruce] Yes, you’re right but I reckon there
are a couple giveaways in the Camaro.
Well, I get the armrest while you get the
cupholders.
You get to put your elbow on the cupholder
which is something that they obviously haven’t
spent the money on.
[Marton] Not ideal.
But something they haven’t been able to
change is the dash, which is plastic.
They’ve left it all right-handed.
It’s plastic.
Something Mustang doesn’t have.
[Bruce] No, Mustang has a higher level of
presentation than this car.
I think the Mustang has an advantage.
It’s got a broader width of capability in
terms of, with those optional MagneRide dampers,
you can go from just toodeling around on them
or wind them up into sport plus mode and you’ve
got a pretty firm riding car.
This car, is just firm all the time.
[Marton] It’s the biggest difference between
them, isn’t it?
This is just tied down, old school.
It’s not compliant like the Mustang.
[Bruce] No, not at all.
No, the Mustang has got an advantage there.
[Marton]It’s the more complete car.
[Bruce] I’ve got to say, I love this Chevy
small-block, it winds and winds, it just pulls
like a train.
[Marton] Enormous mid-range, sounds okay,
only really sounds good up top but the Mustang
sounds good everywhere, doesn’t it?
[Bruce] It does.
And that Mustang, gee, it can even rev so
quickly.
[Marton] And the 10-speed auto, it’s almost
like a dual-clutch isn’t it, compared to
this?
[Bruce] It is so quick and it reacts early.
Braking for a corner, you’re lifting the
throttle and it reads and it goes bang, bang,
two gears.
Whereas the 8-speed in the Chevy, it’s slower.
[Marton] Sure, it’s a bit slower.
It doesn’t always do what you want it to
do.
The Mustang is always in the right gear.
People say it hunts, I disagree.
It’s busy but of course it’s going to
be busy with 10 speeds.
So on the road, these two muscle cars are
pretty evenly matched.
But the bumpier the surface gets, the greater
the Mustang’s advantage.
And it’s also more comfortable to live with.
But as they say in the classics, when the
flag drops, the bull dust stops and the let’s
face it, straight line speed is what these
pony cars are all about.
Despite the Mustang’s dragstrip mode and
the Camaro’s willingness to break traction
even mid-strip, the Chevy was consistently
quicker by about a tenth to a hundredth and
more than two tenths over the quarter-mile.
So just as I suspected, the Camaro is quicker.
[Bruce] Yes, you got me but only by a fifteenth,
Marty.
And I know one thing, I’m going to be more
comfortable than you riding home to Melbourne
today.
[Marton] Well you enjoy that Bruce, because
when I get home, I’ll be the only bloke
in my street with a Camaro.
[Bruce] So you take the Camaro, I’ll take
the Mustang and we’ll agree to disagree.
[Marton] It’s a deal.
Let’s hit the road.

2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS vs. 2018 Ford Mustang GT | Comparison Test | Edmunds

2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS vs. 2018 Ford Mustang GT | Comparison Test | Edmunds

Edmunds:

CARLOS LAGO: In
the early 60s, Ford
introduced a car called the
Mustang that was so popular,
Chevy decided to follow
suit and introduced
its direct competitor,
the Camaro.
And since then, really
not much has changed
MARK TAKAHASHI: No, the formula
has definitely stayed the same.
But man, the total sum has
increased dramatically.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah,
we've assembled
to the latest variants
of these pony cars,
as the way you should probably
order them, with the V8.
Now, these aren't
performance package cars
but these are the
cars most people are
going to end up buying.
We've got them here to see
how these two modern versions
of the pony cars stack up.

[CAR ACCELERATING]
All right, Mark, it's up to you
to sell me on the 2018 Mustang.
MARK TAKAHASHI: It should be
pretty easy because number one,
I can see.
Look, you can see turns.
CARLOS LAGO: This is
true but also listen.
[CAR ACCELERATING]

MARK TAKAHASHI: Oh,
that sounds amazing.
CARLOS LAGO: That
sounds really good.
I swear that's louder
than the Camaro.
MARK TAKAHASHI: It is.
CARLOS LAGO: In this world
of Camaro Mustang, loud wins.
MARK TAKAHASHI: And this has an
active exhaust option for you.
You can do a quiet
start if you don't want
to wake up all your neighbors.
But it sounds so
rad anyway, I think
they'd be cool with it, right?
CARLOS LAGO: But tell
me about this five liter
because I see it's
revving higher.
How does it feel?
MARK TAKAHASHI: It feels great.
You know, it's kind of got
some of that high revving
personality of that GT 350.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Which
I really, really dig.
CARLOS LAGO: Who doesn't?
MARK TAKAHASHI: But
just like the GT 350,
the first time I got in
this and started really
driving it hard, I realized
I was short shifting.
CARLOS LAGO: Really
MARK TAKAHASHI: I could
let this wind way more out
CARLOS LAGO: Because
you've got so many more
revs to play with than you
would traditionally expect.
You're used to a V-8 being kind
of a low revy kind of thing.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Right.
CARLOS LAGO: But then when
you have above 7000 RPMs,
it's fun when you realize
you can play with it.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Oh, yeah.
CARLOS LAGO: So you've got
a big, digital display.
How do you like that
in the day to day use?
MARK TAKAHASHI: I
really, really like it.
You know, and I get that some
people are traditionalists.
They want to see the old gauges.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah and it's
optional though, right?
MARK TAKAHASHI: It's an option.
CARLOS LAGO: OK.
OK.
So you can have traditional
gauges if you like.
But yeah, I like that the
tach moves like a bar graph
when you're in the track
setting, like we are now.
MARK TAKAHASHI: So this
is the new 10 speed auto.
The whole point of that is,
you know, quicker acceleration.
You know, shorter
gears, down low,
teller up top so you
get fuel economy.
I dig that and everything,
but this is a Mustang.
It should have a stick shift,
it should have six gears.
And there's sometimes
this little, weird delay
between when you
hit the up-shift
and when it finally does.
CARLOS LAGO: Oh, so when you're
controlling the gears manually
there's a bit of a delay?
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah, I've
been in paddle shift mode
ever since we set off here.
So, see?
It's not just that immediate.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah.
MARK TAKAHASHI: It's still
really freaking good.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah.
MARK TAKAHASHI:
But there's still
that romance of muscle cars
where you should have a stick.
CARLOS LAGO: You want to
be able to bang gears?
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah.
CARLOS LAGO: That's
how you feel good.
That's when you feel good is
when you just shift it quick.
This is not a
performance packed car.
MARK TAKAHASHI: No
performance options
on this except for
maybe the exhaust.
CARLOS LAGO: And the V8 engine.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yes.
Yeah, I mean I like it.
It's compliant it's
still comfortable.
The way this transitions
out of a turn I really dig.
You get on that
power early and it
starts straightening you out.
It's happy.
CARLOS LAGO: It seems like
it's giving you a quite a bit
over-steer on the power out but
in a really nice controllable
way.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah, I
mean that's the thing.
They tune that
stability control really
well where if you start
getting it a little sideways
but you're still
on the throttle,
it'll let you do it up
to a certain slip angle.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah.
MARK TAKAHASHI: But once
you lift out of it, then it
will snap you
right back in line.
CARLOS LAGO: That's nice.
MARK TAKAHASHI:
Man, I mean I really
like the way this
comes out of turns.
Just a little bit, little
bit and it just starts, yeah.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah.
MARK TAKAHASHI: That
little snap out of it.
I really dig this car.
CARLOS LAGO: How do
those breaks feel?
MARK TAKAHASHI: Solid.
I mean these aren't performance
upgrade brakes either.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah.
MARK TAKAHASHI: The pedal,
it's you know, moderately firm.
Easy to modulate,
that's for sure.
CARLOS LAGO: I just
can't quite get over
the sound this thing makes.
MARK TAKAHASHI:
Isn't that great?
Let's go to like a
normal mode, shall we?
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah, you
get your Rogers mode.
MARK TAKAHASHI:
This is the problem
with this toggle switch.
It only goes up.
It should go down, as well.
CARLOS LAGO: This is quiet.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah.
There's a lot less
bass going on now.
CARLOS LAGO: Ford
clearly defines quiet
differently than I might.
[TIRES SQUEAL]
MARK TAKAHASHI: This mid-cycle
refresh is a little bit more
than the typical
mid-cycle refresh.
I mean, they have the
adaptive suspension,
they have a lot more safety
features, cool options,
like the instrument panel.
I really like this.
[CAR ACCELERATES]

CARLOS LAGO: This
is the 60th annual.
MARK TAKAHASHI: I
know, I like them.
CARLOS LAGO: But because you
can do things like this--
MARK TAKAHASHI: Oh.
[CAR ACCELERATES]
Oh, no lift.
CARLOS LAGO: And on top of
that, it also has red matching.
So it's basically an automatic.
And so this is the Camaro SS
that we all know and love.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Love?
CARLOS LAGO: Love.
That's what makes
a Camaro a Camaro.
MARK TAKAHASHI:
Wait, that's Subaru.
CARLOS LAGO: Ssh.
So we're down five horsepower
and a couple pound feet
of torque, I forget.
MARK TAKAHASHI: It's completely
irrelevant at this point.
460 versus 455.
CARLOS LAGO: Well,
I was also going
to make the point that this
car is about 50 pounds lighter.
So the whole power and torque
deficit comes out about even.
MARK TAKAHASHI: I think so.
CARLOS LAGO: When
you get down to it.
What I like about this car,
what I like traditionally
about Camaros is the
handling balance.
This is a big, meaty car.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah.
CARLOS LAGO: With a
ton of low end grunt.
With a ton of power that you
can do that, which is terrific.
MARK TAKAHASHI: It
just sounds like you're
going to break something.
CARLOS LAGO: Well, you
know traditionally,
you would break something.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yes.
CARLOS LAGO: And so what I
like is that they actually
took the time to build
that into the system
so you don't have to worry
about breaking anything.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Right.
Ooh.
CARLOS LAGO: It's
just so satisfying.
MARK TAKAHASHI: It really is.
That is impressive.
CARLOS LAGO: Now,
getting back to like
the dynamics part of it, yes,
this car has no visibility.
It's basically a
window-less van.
MARK TAKAHASHI: I don't know,
the visibility bothers me.
I don't have a really
good grab handle here.
CARLOS LAGO: Does this look like
the face of somebody who cares?
MARK TAKAHASHI: Fair enough.
[TIRES SCREECHING]
But here's the
thing, do you think
there's a dynamic difference
between these two cars
that is a deal breaker
one way or the other?
Because I, personally,
I have just as much fun
with both cars.
CARLOS LAGO: That's
the truth of it.
Isn't it really?
The difference is the
badging on the hood
and that's basically it.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Right.
So what are we fighting for?
CARLOS LAGO: We're not.
Well, the Camaro is
obviously better.
MARK TAKAHASHI: No, no, no.
It just, no.
No, the Ford is less flawed.
CARLOS LAGO: It's really
one of those things
that like we've always been
at war with Eurasia, right?
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yes.
CARLOS LAGO: It's just
this constant rivalry
that goes back and forth.
But fundamentally, you end
up with the same vehicle
with minor variations.
And so it comes
down to, basically,
what's your preference?
I prefer that, which is great.
But I'm sure there's
qualities in the Mustang
I would also like, as well.
But this is a fine
handling vehicle
that handles with a delicacy
and a light-ness that
kind of belies its size, right?
MARK TAKAHASHI:
Well, the styling,
too makes it look chunkier
and heavier than it is.
CARLOS LAGO: Yes, absolutely.
From the six speed manual to
the red match buttons that
toggles on the steering
wheel, the standard Camaro SS,
I'm going to say,
bare bones, it's
pretty much what you'd
expect in this kind of car.
I like the interior
layout, I like
the way things were arranged.
Like this is a very
classical panel right there
with the double bubble gauge.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah,
and this coved out
section here is kind of you
know, heritage Camaro stuff.
I like the design, I really,
truly like the design.
I think it's pleasing to
look at but in practice, it's
got some issues for me.
CARLOS LAGO: The big issue,
of course, is the visibility.
And then, there's just a couple
of like, weird annoying things.
Like the way the screen
seems to be angled inwards
so it looks like
it's sloping down.
Doesn't effect how you use
it, it just looks weird.
And then you have a problem
with these center vents.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah, they're
really great for cooling down
your knuckles but nothing else.
What I do like is when
you turn that bezel,
it adjusts the temperature.
That's really cool.
I think that's kind of almost--
CARLOS LAGO: It's clever.
MARK TAKAHASHI: --Audi-esque
in its execution.
But they need to be up here.
I mean, they're right
on your knuckles.
CARLOS LAGO: The
important stuff,
like the speedometer
is easy to read.
You have big, analog gauges.
You have a head up display
that's configurable.
All the important controls,
steering wheel, shifter,
clutch, pedals, all fall to
hand and foot really easily.
The drive mode selection
stuff's really easy to use.
It's this stuff like
interior storage
and like the wireless charging
pad being back here, which--
MARK TAKAHASHI: What?
CARLOS LAGO: --is just strange.
MARK TAKAHASHI:
That means you're
going to forget your phone
in here all the time.
CARLOS LAGO: I
don't know why you
would use that because if
you have a nice, smart phone
here you're going to use Android
Auto or Apple CarPlay, which
requires being plugged--
MARK TAKAHASHI: --the USB.
CARLOS LAGO: --into here.
But this compartment
isn't big enough
to fit most modern smartphones.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Right.
From the passenger
side, and I noticed
this when you were throwing
us around on track.
Is the passenger doesn't
have very good grab handles.
There is nothing for
me to hold on to here
and this is hard plastic,
right in my elbow.
That's something
that you don't have
to deal with in the
Mustang or at least
your passenger won't have to.
CARLOS LAGO: So overall,
it's a lot of stuff
that doesn't really matter when
it comes to driving quickly
but stuff that does make
this car a little bit
not so nice on the
day to day commute.
MARK TAKAHASHI: It's not
completely different.
It's a mid-sucker refresh,
they have some new features
here and there.
But most importantly, is this
digital instrument cluster.
CARLOS LAGO: The optional
gauge cluster, right?
MARK TAKAHASHI: It is.
It's so cool.
If you switch drive
modes and it kind of
gets this racy kind of
tack bar across the top.
CARLOS LAGO: I like
that bar graph tach.
That's really cool looking.
MARK TAKAHASHI: It is.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah.
MARK TAKAHASHI: The difference
between this and the Camaro,
I think, there's less flaws.
CARLOS LAGO: OK
MARK TAKAHASHI: Number
one, we can see out of it.
CARLOS LAGO: That's nice.
Yeah, I really appreciate
being able to see
outside of the vehicle.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah.
It doesn't feel like you're
wearing the suit of armor
and you're just peeking through
a little tiny mail slot.
Materials quality, I
think is slightly better.
Like, my elbow points
are nicely padded.
And for you probably
you might be
bumping into that a little bit.
CARLOS LAGO: I like that
I have a grab handle.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah.
CARLOS LAGO: When in panic mode.
I don't have one
on the left side
but I have one on the
right side, which is
I think better than the Camaro.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah.
CARLOS LAGO: But I
like the general layout
of this interior.
It feels a little
bit more airy, it
feels a little bit more open.
And it'sl probably to do with
the increased visibility.
But also the way the center
stack is designed here,
this just has a nice flow to it.
MARK TAKAHASHI: And look,
the vents are up top.
CARLOS LAGO: The vents work.
And they've been
able to you know,
keep the influence of like
the 60s design elements--
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah.
CARLOS LAGO: --in the dash but
also add the modern touches
that still make it work.
MARK TAKAHASHI: The
dual dash thing now.
There are some things
that still bother me,
like this little
dash topper here
and this center
of thing up there.
Those are carryovers and
they really seem out of place
because everything else seems
to be quite a bit better.
CARLOS LAGO: So this
car and the Camaro
both have an optional
exhaust volume options.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yes.
CARLOS LAGO: This one has the
option, the Camaro doesn't.
MARK TAKAHASHI: This one,
compared to the Camaro,
goes to 11.
CARLOS LAGO: I
think it passed it.
MARK TAKAHASHI: This is rad.
[THROTTLES GAS LOUDLY]
(GRUNTS)|
CARLOS LAGO: That's ridiculous.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Even
better is the quiet mode.
[THROTTLES GAS QUIETLY]
Ooh, that's quiet.
You can schedule when
it's going to be quiet.
So between midnight and 7:00
AM, I have it set for quiet.
So no matter what, I don't
have to hit that button.
CARLOS LAGO: Your
neighbors don't hate you.
MARK TAKAHASHI: They
do but not for this.
CARLOS LAGO: What
I really appreciate
is the amount of interior
storage you have in this car.
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah.
CARLOS LAGO: From
you know, you only
have two cup holders
and stuff like that,
but you have center pockets.
And the center console
is a bit bigger.
And just things in here feel a
bit more livable, day to day.
If there isn't like any enormous
performance differences,
it's certainly like more--
MARK TAKAHASHI: Yeah.
CARLOS LAGO: --attractive
for the commuter.
MARK TAKAHASHI: But
in the back, the trunk
is way more usable
than Camaro, too.
It has a lower lift
over, it's a bigger trunk
it's, it's way more useful.

So if there's one thing about
muscle cars that's important,
it's fun.
And in my opinion, both
the Camaro and Mustang
do fun equally well.
CARLOS LAGO: Yeah, I love
the acceleration in both.
They both have
fantastic transmissions
and they're both a lot
of fun to slide around.
MARK TAKAHASHI: That
said, I think the Mustang
does everyday life better.
CARLOS LAGO: I agree.
The Mustang is an easier
car to live with everyday
but for some reason I still
enjoy driving the Camaro more.
MARK TAKAHASHI:
That's what we think.

The Truth About the New Chevy Cruze, Buyer Beware

The Truth About the New Chevy Cruze, Buyer Beware

Scotty Kilmer:

rev up your engines, Kenneth case of
Scotty
I really like my 2017 chevy cruze
premiere RS I never had a problem
throughout my ownership should I keep it
thanks, well it's a 2017 it's only a year
and a half old, you better not have any
problems, you might as well keep it cuz
I'll tell you the truth if you try
selling that thing now, you'll see how
much money you will lose, what you owe on
it versus what it's worth it would be
foolish to sell it now maybe you got a
good one that's gonna last, I never advise
anybody to buy it and I got a customer with
one he's got a picture of Mickey Mouse
in his back window cuz she's sued them
under the lemon lawn for some weird
reason they gave him back three thousand
dollars and that was it, they wouldn't
take the car back so, you know but if it lasts
drive it around cuz you would lose your
shirt if you sold it now, CK says Scotty
I'm looking into buying a 2004 GMC
Canyon with two hundred sixteen thousand
miles from a mechanic should I buy it
okay
well it depends if it was the mechanic's
vehicle and he took care of it, not a
bad idea but if he's selling it for somebody
else
you kind of think now the canyon was
kind of a bizarre truck they weren't
that bad
I mean look that thing's got a lot of
miles it's still running, I just uh
wouldn't pay too much for it, it's a 15
year old GMC pickup truck with two
hundred sixteen thousand miles if you're
looking for a Knockaround truck to haul
a little bit of stuff around why not but
just don't pay too much, it's an old GMC
truck with a lot of miles on it,
Albee says what's your opinion on police
cars mainly 2013 police patrol vehicle
Taurus with the 3.7 Mustang engine with
100,000 miles on it, well that was a fun
vehicle in its time but the thing is if
it was a police vehicle, generally they
drive them like maniacs and they get
the heck burnt out of them, I mean you generally
expect you're gonna put an engine or a
transmission in them in a short period of
time, but if you are thinking about
buying one use, do not touch it until you
get a guy like me a professional
mechanic and gonna check it out with his
computer and road test it and tell you
what kind of shape it's in. you want to
start there if you do want to buy a
vehicle like that, they can be fun to drive
around but of course don't pay much for
it, a used police vehicle the resale
value is not that much, you don't want to
pay much because
you know you're playing with dynamite
you don't know what's left with that
vehicle, why do you think the police get
rid of them every so many years,
Alvaro Tejado says Scotty I got
a 95 volvo 940 when i start it up in the
morning it makes the metallic rattling
sound when I rev it, it goes away for 3-4
minutes, the engine was rebuilt seven
years ago you know what's really typical
with those things, is the catalytic
converters rattle as they age for some
reason they made them crappy inside your
catalytic converter are these honeycomb
pieces that have platinum in them and
that burns hydrocarbons and as they age
especially on those vehicles it cracks
and they will rattle, but then when they
heat up the metal expands and they
stop rattling check that first now, if it
runs okay it doesn't hurt anything and a
new cat for that vehicle cost an awful
lot of money, you might live with it if
it is the cat rattling and it runs okay
when it doesn't run good, the
temperature gauge run hotter and you'll
only be able to go like 55 miles an hour
not any faste,r then you know it's
clogged up and you'd have to replace it
then, US storm says Scotty I have an 07
Honda Civic LX coupe with rear drum
brakes should I upgrade them to disc
brakes, okay here's the thing the rear
brakes on that car are one thing mainly
most of the power is stopped in the
front disc, the rear drums are there
so the car doesn't fishtail when you
stop hard and when you corner and stop for
normal driving those work perfectly fine
and you're not gonna have any problems
with them, it's kind of a waste of money
putting it in a little car like that it
really doesn't need it it's a light car
and disc brakes for all four wheels are
more for racing because they don't fade
when you stop go fast stop go fast stop
go fast, drums will actually stop a car
just as fast one time but in a race they
aren't that's why they were first used
in race cars because they're slamming them on
and hit the gas, slamming them on and
hitting the gas and the drum brakes will
overheat where the discs wouldn't and
that's why they started using them but
on yours are you really wouldn't want to
spend money for that, my Honcho says Scotty
should I put fuel injection on a Dodge
Dart 318 v8 well it's a good question
but depends on what do you want to do
with the thing, if you're planning on
selling it in the future, no because if
it's stock that's a classic 73 Dodge dart
you're gonna lower the value by taking
the factory stuff off,
but if you want it to drive faster
and get better gas mileage, put it on but
save all your old parts, save the
manifold, save the carburetor because
then if you sell it at some point in the
future
you can say to the guy, look I did this
because I like fuel injection you want
to go back to stock here's all the parts
in the box keep them all, don't throw
any of them away, always do that with the
classic car never throw any old parts
away and if you want to modify it to your
heart's content you're gonna keep it for
years go right ahead
just keep the old parts, so if you never
want to miss another one of my new car
repair videos, remember to ring that Bell!

How To Choose A Carburetor

How To Choose A Carburetor

HolleyPerformance:

today we're gonna talk about selecting a
proper carburetor main focus is we're
gonna speak about today are gonna be the
overall size and type of the carburetor
that you're going to choose
so we're gonna start by talking about selecting the proper carburetor size
carburetor sizing is a very important
aspect of selecting the correct
carburetor for your overall combination
one thing you want to avoid doing is
selecting a carburetor that is too large
for your overall combination it's kind of what we
referred to as more's Law lot of people
think that more is better when it comes
to carburetor selection it's anything
but the case it's very important to make
sure you select the proper carburetor to
give you overall drivability, throttle
response, and the characteristics that
somebody's looking for on a daily driver
or even a race application so your
selections gonna depend if it's a race
application or a streetcar there are
some differences in between when we talk
about carburetor size were initially
talking about selecting one for a street
application we talk about selecting a carburetor for a Street application or even a race
application one of the tools that Holley's
provided for you to make it easy and to take a
little bit of the guesswork out of it is
the Holley carburetor selection tool you
can view that tool and utilized by going
to www.Holley.com
it will allow you to put in some specific
information relative to your combination
and it will give you a directional guide
as to available carburetors that Holley
has available at Holley as well as the demon
carburetor line that will figure
specific needs when your dealing with
carburetors there's also a generalized
formula that you can use a common
example would be to take a 406 cubic inch
small block Chevrolet at 6,500 rpm you
take the engine displacement times
maximum RPM it would give you a total of
two million six hundred and thirty nine
thousand you can then take that total
and divided by three four five six it's
an easy for me to remember it's engine
displacement times maximum RPM divided
by three four five six in this case it
would give us a total of around seven
hundred and sixty-four CFM which if you
rounded down a little bit brings in
about 750 CFM now its based at a hundred
percent volumetric efficiency that formula
would be good for a performance
application we are really focus more on
mid to upper rpm performance potential
if you stay a little bit smaller on the
carburetor its gonna give you better low
to mid end characteristics as far as
throttle response and general low to mid
rpm drivability if you look at that
engine at approximately eight what we
refer to as a 85% volumetric efficiency
which you normally have in an Street Stock to
mild application that will put you in it
about a 650 cfm carburetor that general
difference of a hundred CFM can really
make a broad difference when it comes to
the overall characteristics and
drivability of the vehicle
so next we're going to talk about carburetor types we've talked about size now let's
talk about the overall types of
carburetors that are available
what we see before me are 2 commonly refered to as a modular Holley design
carburetor which most people refer to
as a model 4150 or 4160 carburetor
the carburetor down here on the bottom is a
single feed vacuum secondary side hung bull
carburetor this style of carburetor has been on
for years and is a excellent type of
carburetor choice for a average street
application the second carburetor
looking at is a Holley double pumper
everybody knows a Holley double pumper it's
been really the staple for performance
applications for several decades now and
it's still one of the most popular
carburetors we produce today some of the
differences that kind of go on to play
with what we're talking about with
carburetor sizing when we talk about a vacuum
secondary carburetor we talked about
more's Law the Holley vacuum secondary
carburetor will actually self regulate
itself based on engine demand if you were to
look underneath the carburetor if i open
the throttle wide open you'll see the
primary throttle blades open all the way
but the secondaries don't as engine
demand increases the demand for a
additional air flow well increases for additional performance in rpm and the
carburetor when properly tuned will have
a vacuum control diaphragm that will open up
the secondaries where this is really
key is if you do select a carburetor
that's a little bit oversized for your
application it will do everything within
its power to regulate and reduce that
overall amount of airflow to maintain
optimal air velocity and efficiency through
the carburetor and when you get into a
double pumper carburetor what you will
find is when you go to wide-open
throttle the primary and secondary is
automatically open that's gonna give you
the application that requires a rapid
increase in rpm that has the actual need
and ability to handle that rapid increase
and airflow some of the common
differences that you would run into as
far as uses if you have a vehicle thats
heavier weight low to mid rpm Street
drivability automatic transmission
a vacuum secondary car bridge can give you
much better throttle response and
overall drivability and characteristics
when when you deal with the double pump Holley
carburetor it's really key to have this
match to the requirements a double
pumper carburetor is generally good
properly suited for a lightweight
vehicle generally with a manual
transmission with a lot of gear or an
automatic with a loose performance
converted that's going to allow it to
build rpm rapidly without getting too
technical one of the things to kind of
think about carburetor functionality
it's a lot like an aircraft if you think of
a wing of an airplane you need a certain
amount of air speed the generate lift
and sustained flight otherwise the
wings stall the plane crashes a carburetor
works really in the same way the air speed
through the venturi creates a pressure
drop that gives you a fuel signal the
higher the air velocitiy is through the venturi
of the carburetor the stronger that
signal is in the better the overall
performance in response is going to be
the characteristics of that carburetor
so you really want to make sure that you
match the carburetor based on your
specific requirements
one of the other carburetors that we've
released through the demon line is the
Street demon this kind of brakes
conventional a little bit compared to a
modular single feed 4160 and a double
pump 4150 carburetor and the design
character if you look at the bottom of
the carburetor when we open the throttle
you'll see that they physically open
like a double pumper but when we look at
the top you see that the only section
what's up with the choke is the primary
they have an adjustable air valve that's
at the back that based on physical
demand
will open very similar to a vacuum
secondary Holley so their characteristics are
kind of a blend between the two we offer
the street demon in a 625
as well as a 750 CFM
application version these carburetors
are ideally suited to a stock too mild
performance street application to give
you X on throttle response instead of a
conventional moduel on Holly this is a two
piece design there are no actual exposed
fuel services below the top gasket level
and these are really nice addition that
we've created through the Holley product
line
so we've talked about the size of carburetor and we've
talked about from general types of
carburetors one of the things we want to
speak about as well as the choke some
carburetors are equipped with a choke some carburetors are equipped without a choke and are
different types of chokes depending on
the area that you live in especially
relative to climate may dictate whether
or not you need a choke or you may want to have a choke
and there are some pros and cons to
having a carburetor with or without
a choke and different types first type of
carburetor choke we can talk about is
going to be an electric choke alot of
Holley carburetors are designed with an
automatic electric choke it makes for a
simple operation all the end user has to
do with the install the carburetor
is wire a switch 12 volt wire to the choke
housing to the cap and when the key is
on the engines running it will basically
power up the choke as its powered up it heats
up and as it heats up it rotates and
opens up the choke when a vehicle cools off it allows it to close for comfort and
automatic electric choke another type of
choke we have is a manual choke a manual
choke requires a actual physical
connection of a control cable that is
run into the passenger compartment of
the vehicle were can be controlled by
the operator of course it requires manual
intervention for it to function one of the
benefits you can run into with an
electric choke is it kind of takes the
guesswork and the need to manually
operate a cable out of the mix when you
deal with a manual choke it gives you
full control one of things a lot of the times
you see is when you start getting into more
hiring performance carburetor for street
and strip use you start getting into a
carbureted generally is going to either
have a manual choke or we'll talk about
the moment are ultra XP style carburetor
some of our street HP's that do not have a
choke at all
one of the benefits to having a manual
choke for performance applications is a lot of the times
because of the design of the intake
manifold the camshaft you may or may not
need much choke or you may need to give it a
lot of initial choke and then take it
off rapidly and you have that overall
control whereas with an automatic choke
it sorted limits you a little bit you can
adjust how hard the joke is on how fast
it comes off but you just don't have
that finite control me personally if I'm
gonna run a
choke I prefer mechanical choke maybe just
cause I want to have that control over
it but it's generally for me personally
what I would prefer another option that
you can have
would be more of a race Pacific Harbour
that has no choke at all where this can
be a little bit problematic as if it is
a street vehicle you live in a cold
climate the vehicle can be a little
harder to start it can be more
temperamental at cold Operation those of
you that have run a vehicle without a choke
you know the deal you get in there it's
cold you gotta pump the throttle you've got
trying to find the sweet spot you
get the engine the start you got a
feather the throttle and you basically
have to babysit your engine until it
comes up to temperature where as if you're
utilizing a physical choke you don't
have to do as much babysitting automatic
choke will work automatically manual choke is
the engine warms up you physically just
push the choke off you will find that
depending on your climates we've
discussed it's more critical so if you
have somebody that for example I got
some friends that live in North Pole
Alaska they're gonna want to have a
choke i've also got some friends that live in
South Florida chances are they won't
need a choke when it comes to choke
selection and they need for what it
really boils down to personal preference
you just need to understand that if you
do not have a vehicle with the choke
that it can be hard to cold start until
engine gives up the operating
temperature can tend to be a little bit
temperamental and may want to hesitate
could potentially backfire so you need
to understand the difference of having a
choke and not and some of the overall
characteristics when you're selecting a
carburetor
we've talked about size we've talked
about type and we've talked about chokes
let's talk about finish this particular
double pumper has our classic
dichromate finish this is a finish has
been around for decades
characterized by the overall gold type of
appearance to the carburetor this type of
finish is really popular with older
muscle car owners people doing
restorations want to keep that nostalgic
year and period correct apperence for
their vehicle this finish will commonly
be found on our classic double pumper
series of carburetors times have changed
a little bit and people want something
that's a little bit more fancy or
little bit of bling for lack of a better
term one of the features that we have a
lot of a carburetors now is the shiny
finish that's featured on a lot of our
aluminum as well as ours zinc based
Street HP carburetors and it's a tumble
polished finish that gives you a nice shiny
appearance one of the other finishes we have
is the hardcore gray you'll find this
featured on some of our new ultra Street
Avengers the ultra double pumpers as
well as the ultra XP series of
carburetors the hardcore gray finish is
not only there for a apperence and grant it
can't deny that it looks fantastic it
gives you that rugged strong aggressive
look i always talk about black being the
new chrome but it goes beyond overall
appearance this particular hardcore
gray finish is a mil-spec hard coat
anodizing and anodized both externally
as well as internally what that does is as
well as giving you good looks it gives
you corrosion protection a lot of your
newer race fuels are pretty exotic with
some of the chemical combinations in them well as the ethanol chasm pump gas that
can lead to corrosion problem and this
not only gives you aggressive looks it
also gives you protection against those
corrosive properties of a lot of your
modern pump fuels next carburetor brings
them and turn around so you can see it a
little bit better and angle it up is a
combination of a shiny finish as well as
a bright dip anodized metering block and
baseplate combination this particular
ultra Street Avenger is featured with
silver and red this style of carburetor is
also available in silver and blue as
well as silver and black
we do have the multi color combinations
available in the ultra street avengers
the ultra double pumpers the ultra
XPs as well as some of the gen 3
dominators we have available
last finish i want to talk about as we see
here on our 625 as well as the 750 CFM
Street demons it's also a black finish you
will see that the overall appearance is
slightly different this particular
finish it's offered on the street demon
is a black ceramic coating gives you
that rugged look as well as being some
kind of gives you a lot of durability
the street demon is also available in
2 other finishes its available in the
shiny tumble polished finish we talked
about on the modular Holley's as well as a
basically hand polished mere type of
finish that's available on that
carburetor as well some of the other
things to keep in mind when you are
dealing with the carburetor they really
should be talked about on types I just
want to cover really quick is fuel inlet
types in this particular soft carpet is
a single filament which simply requires
a single fuel line from your fuel pump
and regulator and supply to feed the
carburetor when you get into our classic
modular 4160 type of street Holley it
also is available with a single feed its
got a single feed their primary fuel
bonus or transferred to that feeds fuel
to the secondary the other application
and style of carburetor you have you see on the ultra XP is what's commonly referred to as dual feed
the dual feed is generally can also
be characteristic associated with a
center hunger cathedral type of fuel
bowl when you select your cartridges
really keep that in mind that if you are
selecting carburetor that's a dual feed that
when you're looking things up you need
to remember to hook up a fuel line to
both fuel bowls every once in a while
we will get a call on a tech line we get
a customer that went from a single feed
carburetor to a dual feed carburetor
they weren't thinking about it they just
look up a single fuel line and when they open
up that secondary there's no fuel there
well we're talking about that stumble
situation in so just make sure that you
really plan out your installation
matchup your size your type your choke
and your overall finish that really
that really compliments your combination and gives you a
nice rounded out balance for good looks
as well as drivability performance and
cold start reliability

GIANT BOARD GAME CHALLENGE!! Winner Gets Vy Qwaint SECRET Revealed

GIANT BOARD GAME CHALLENGE!! Winner Gets Vy Qwaint SECRET Revealed

Chad Wild Clay:

- All right Spy Ninjas.
If you don't want me to reveal,
Vy's big secret,
then you're gonna have to compete,
in the dangerous board game!
- This is a huge board game PZ9.
Okay, I volunteer to
go (claps hands) first.
- Let's get into it!
Ah!
Roll the dice.
- Don't worry Vy, I'm
gonna win this challenge.
And I will not reveal your secret.
(suspenseful music)
I got a three!
Woo!
One, ow.
- [Vy] Oh my God!
- Two.
Three.
What's blue mean PZ9?
- It represents the color of water,
which you're gonna cross on this,
plank challenge.
But to spice it up,
you're on a scooter.
- What?!
How am I supposed to
ride this little scooter,
on this huge plank?
I'm gonna fall on the water.
- I think that's a fact.
(laughs mockingly)
Look at the wood planks,
they're not even.
Gonna be difficult.
- So if I fall in the water--
- Then you start at the beginning.
(laughs loudly)
You guys are Spy Ninjas.
You guys should not fail.
(laughs loudly)
- Woo! Let's do this!
- [Daniel] Ooh!
- Show off.
- I got a little plan here.
I think it's gonna ride very nicely,
right along this little groove here.
- It's like a train--
- (train whistles)
- Just going on the railroad track.
- You can do it, Chad!
You can do it!
- Yeah, you can do it, Chad!
You can fall in the pool.
(laughs loudly)
- I don't think Regina has
much faith in me either.
She's recording slow motion,
like I'm gonna fall in
the water or something.
You think I'm gonna fall
in the water, Regina?
- Maybe.
- I got my GoPro on,
so you guys can see what I see.
- Everybody ready?
- Ready!
- Three, two, one, scoot!
Oh my goodness!
Oh shoot!
It's bending!
The bars are bending.
(suspenseful music)
- You did it!
- [Spy Ninjas] (cheering loudly)
- Well it was too easy.
Next challenge!
Ah!
Do you need help rolling this dice, Vy?
(laughs loudly)
- I don't need your help.
- It is like half your size.
(laughs mockingly)
- It is, but I'm strong.
(rubber ducky squeaks)
I don't wanna roll a three
because that's what Chad rolled
and it's a water challenge.
And I can't swim.
- Let's get a three!
- What!?
- Yeah, a three.
That's good.
- Is she on PZ9's team now or what?
- It's a joke.
- Good luck Vy!
- [Daniel] Go Vy!
Go!
- Five!
Oh my gosh!
- [Chad] One!
- Two!
- Three!
- Ha!
- (screams loudly)
Oh my gosh!
- (laughs loudly)
- I can't swim, PZ9!
Four, whatever!
- Here's the second half of three.
- Four!
- Five!
- Miniature golf.
- I can do this.
Miniature golf for a miniature person.
I can handle this.
- (laughs loudly)
Cause she's small.
I guess I have a miniature brain.
(laughs loudly)
- He finally got something right.
- (stomps loudly)
- All right Vy.
You ever played golf before?
- Maybe once.
- Okay, it's all in the hips.
Swing it and get a nice strike.
- Shut up already.
You're taking forever.
Let's play!
- Vy, you gotta listen to me.
I'm a pro at golf.
Home run!
- All right, okay.
- Home run?
Daniel!
I don't think he knows
anything about golf.
- What did you say?
- I said, if you think this is a home run,
that's not golf.
That's the wrong sport, buddy.
(suspenseful music)
- [Spy Ninjas] (cheering loudly)
- You did it!
- Oh my God!
- Way to go out there!
- Yeah!
- Who's up next?
Regina!
- I don't know.
Let me roll this thing.
Woo!
- [Chad] A one!
- [Daniel] Oh! (sad trombone)
- Awh.
- [Daniel] Aww, how sad.
(jump squeaks)
- [Chad] One.
- [Daniel] Aww.
- (laughs loudly)
- Whatever!
- [Chad] What does red mean, PZ9?
- It means you move back one space.
- What?!
- Which matches her life. (laughs loudly)
- Hey!
- [Chad] Well, at least, okay.
- I have rolled many dices in my lifetime.
I'm a Yahtzee expert as they say.
Here we go!
What is that like a six?
- [Regina] It got two.
- Seven?
- [Regina] Daniel, you suck like me.
- Not as much.
Two is better than one.
- [Regina] Whatever, go!
- One!
- Two!
- [Regina] Oh, very close.
- Black.
- Black means back to the
start! (laughs loudly)
- What?!
- [Regina] You have to
go back to the start too.
- It's my turn next.
Let's go!
- [Regina] What the heck?
- It's for my Instagram.
- [Regina] It says Tar.
- Tar.
You Tarzan or something?
- Superstar!
Okay.
- [Regina] Six!
- No!
- [Regina] He cheated!
- No.
See you later losers.
- [Regina] Hey!
- (laughs loudly)
Oops.
(laughs loudly)
- You're ruining your own game, PZ9!
- [Daniel] It's four.
Five.
Six.
- Right over here where you belong.
- Get in your six.
What does white mean?
- It's the absence of color, thus,
I don't do anything!
I'm cool.
- You're just making these rules up.
Give me those dice.
PZ9's in the lead.
I have to go pass him,
so I'm gonna go ahead and move this dice.
Oh, come on!
- Come on!
Oh!
- Hey, but at least I'm safe.
- Yeah, and you're closer to me now.
- Vy's turn to roll.
- All right.
Are you ready, Daniel?
- [Daniel] I'm ready!
- [Chad] Come on, Vy!
- [Spy Ninjas] A two!
- Yeah!
Passing PZ9. (laughs loudly)
- [Daniel] (laughs loudly)
- She thinks.
- What's red, PZ9?
- Do you remember when Regina got red,
she went back one space.
Welcome back, Vy!
- I have to share a square with you?
- (laughs loudly)
- I don't wanna be next to you.
Can you move over, please?
- I'm a big body.
- Okay, Daniel.
Your turn.
- Huddle real quick.
Vy, she's with PZ9 where she belongs.
- She's been acting really strange.
She's definitely hiding a big secret.
So we got those two secrets,
but now we need this third one
to read the full sentence.
- I know your secrets Vy.
- You don't know anything.
You think you know, but you have no idea.
- Well say with your Spy Ninjas.
Wait until they find out.
- I'm gonna win this challenge
and no one's gonna know the secret.
- I'm telling you right now,
if I win I'm opening that envelope.
We're gonna find out what her secret is.
- Okay.
If I win, I don't know what I'm gonna do.
What do you Spy Ninjas think I should do?
Should I keep Vy's secret
and not show everybody
or should I show all you
guys what's on that envelope?
I don't know.
- Big number.
- Oh!
- [Regina and Chad] Six!
- Whoa!
- Good job!
- [Chad] You got this, woo!
- Let's go!
- [Chad] One.
Two.
Three.
- Four.
- [Chad] Four.
- Five.
- And six.
Hey, there's not much room for ya.
- Oh this is weird.
- Regina, it's up to you.
Come on.
- I gotta roll a big number.
- Yes.
- Three!
One.
Two.
- Uh oh.
- Three.
What's this again?
(gasps loudly)
- You gotta scooter across the pool.
- Oh no, I'm scared.
- Oh no!
I believe in you, Regina.
- Thank you.
- Unlike when I went and
you were filming slow-mo,
cause you thought I would
fall into the water.
- But it would've been good.
- That's true.
It would've been good.
- I'm nervous.
- You got this.
Hang on, let me get to the other side.
Vy, what do you think's gonna happen?
- I don't know.
She's really clumsy,
so I think she might fall.
- Regina can barely walk.
She's like, oh!
- Jeez dude, jeez.
- Nevermind.
- You can barely stand.
- Yeah, okay.
You don't know.
- She'll fall.
- [Chad] Come on, Regina.
- I'm nervy.
- [Chad] You can do this.
Are you ready?
- No!
(suspenseful music)
- [Chad] You got this, girl.
- (screams loudly)
- [Chad] Oh God!
- (screams loudly)
- [Spy Ninjas] (cheering loudly)
- Good job!
- That challenge I didn't
realize was gonna hurt my ears.
- (screams loudly)
That's me.
- [Chad] PZ9's turn.
A one.
- Oh no, it hit Daniel on the way down.
- [Chad] You go to the red,
and then you go back one space.
My turn!
All right, back up Daniel.
I'm gonna throw it nice and high.
- [Daniel] Okay.
- Whoa!
Four!
- You get,
three chances to land the water
balloon in that blue square.
Make it and you advance.
Miss all three,
go back to the start.
Plot twist!
The three of you will be standing,
in front of that blue square.
(laughs loudly)
- He's gonna hit us.
- I'm gonna throw it over
those three Spy Ninjas,
into the blue square.
- Do your worst, Chad.
- You're gonna film it in slow-mo, Daniel?
- I am.
- Yes.
- Just in case I hit you.
- You can do this, Chad.
- Ready?
- Ready.
- Give me a countdown.
- Three.
Two.
One.
(suspenseful music)
(water splashes)
- It broke before I let go.
I guess I filled up too far.
Try number two.
This guy's smiling.
Oh shoot, he's ready to go.
- [PZ9] (laughs loudly)
- Okay.
- [Spy Ninjas] Three.
Two.
One.
(suspenseful music)
(upbeat music)
(water splashes)
- (screams loudly)
- Shoot, I was a little too short.
- [PZ9] (laughs loudly)
- My leg.
- Third times the charm.
Here we go.
I'm really sorry about hitting
you guys in that last one.
I feel really bad about that.
We got this.
- [PZ9] Do it again.
- Give me a countdown, guys.
- [Spy Ninjas] Three.
Two.
One.
(suspenseful music)
- [Spy Ninjas] (screaming loudly)
(water splashes)
- I made it!
I made it!
- Yea!
- I'm in the blue.
Okay, what is this PZ9, Melvin?
Whatever,
whoever you are.
- He'll find out next
round. (laughs loudly)
- Vy, you're up.
- [Regina] Go Vy!
- Four!
(jump squeaks)
(jump squeaks)
(jump squeaks)
- Woo!
- You almost made it to me, Vy.
- I know, but I'm safe here in the white.
- [Regina] Danny boy's turn.
Big money.
- [Spy Ninjas] Three!
- Okay, see you later PZ9.
One.
Two.
Three.
(fail buzzer plays)
Oh no!
- Black!
- That means go back!
- It does!
- Back to the beginning, Daniel.
Oh!
- It's like I made that square for Daniel.
What a loser, right?
- Yeah.
I mean, no.
No.
- Come one, Regina.
It's up to you.
- Big numbers.
- [Chad] (cheering loudly)
- Ready?
- Yeah, I'm ready.
- It's a two.
- You're supposed to get
a big number, Regina.
- One.
Two.
- Hey!
- Mini golf.
Hole in one.
- Daniel, you said you were a pro at golf.
- What's your advice?
- Regina, Vy took my advice
and you know what happened?
Home run, baby.
You got to do the exact
same thing I told her, okay.
- On the hips.
- Yeah, on the hips.
Go down the alley
and get a strike.
- Down the alley,
strike,
bowling?
- Three.
Two.
One.
- [Chad] Yeah! (cheers loudly)
PZ9's turn.
- See you later.
- Six.
You're in the blue with me.
- (laughs loudly)
- And it's my turn,
so now you're going to explain
what this bridge thing is.
- Just cross over it,
that's all.
- [Chad] Oh.
- You just gotta trust my carpentership.
- This thing does not look stable at all.
I'm gonna fall into the pool here.
This is a bridge to nowhere.
You see how skinny this plank is, Daniel.
Look how shaky this thing is.
This isn't gonna hold my weight.
I'm so heavy.
- We made a fort out of these.
Vy ran into it, no problem.
It broke.
- No, I'm strong and huge.
- You're strong, not huge.
- Use that for balance.
- I've seen circus acts do this.
Okay.
Oh my goodness!
PZ9 you did not build this very well.
- Yes, dangerous, ain't it?
I wasn't kidding.
- Whoa!
Oh!
- [Vy] (screams loudly)
- It's falling apart already.
I don't need this thing.
I'm a spy.
I'm a ninja.
I've got the balance.
Oh my gosh.
- [Vy] (screams loudly)
- [Daniel] Oh my gosh!
Oh no!
- I don't know if it
can support my weight.
If I step right in the middle,
that's gonna fall apart.
I'm gonna try to skip over the middle.
Oh my God!
- (screams loudly)
- Oh gosh!
- (screams loudly)
- Oh!
Yeah!
- [Spy Ninjas] (cheers loudly)
- You did it.
- There's no way PZ9's gonna
make it across that thing.
- Oh my gosh, that was so intense,
I hope I don't get that water one, Chad.
- I hope not either cause you can't swim.
You're not gonna like that one.
- No.
- Two or four.
- [Spy Ninjas] A four!
(jump squeaks)
(jump squeaks)
- Not this one?
- No.
- That looks fun.
(jump squeaks)
- Oh, my lucky day.
I'm safe again.
- Vy's the closest to the finish line.
And that means her secret
might lay in her hands forever.
- You're right.
You're not gonna win Vy.
- Roll a big one.
Yeah, you got it.
A five.
That's pretty good.
- My specialty, golf.
I've won many super bowls in golf before.
Don't wanna get a foul.
Let's do this thing.
- He's embarrassing himself.
- Three, two, one.
Go!
(trumpet plays)
- Daniel, I thought you were a pro.
- You're back at the beginning.
- Oh!
- You don't understand how golf works,
so you hit it past the hole,
it's like eight more points.
- [PZ9 and Chad] (laughs loudly)
- Go Regina.
- Go Regina!
- All right, big number.
- [Spy Ninjas] Five!
- (cheers loudly)
(jump squeaks)
(jump squeaks)
- Five.
- Uh oh.
- What's this?
- You already know what it is.
Jump in!
- Jump in!
Jump in!
- Hey!
- [Daniel and Vy] Hey!
- Shout out to Stephen Sharer, yeah.
- So are you down or not?
- I guess I have to do this,
whatever.
It's hot.
Push me in.
- Okay.
- (screams loudly)
- [Chad] (screams loudly)
(upbeat music)
- It feels good PZ9.
(splashes water)
- Okay, all right.
I get the point.
- You thought it would be a punishment,
but it ended up to be a reward.
I had to cross the bridge,
now it's PZ9's turn.
Ooh.
You're gonna fall in.
You know why?
You ain't got the balance of a Spy Ninja,
to ready to collapse.
- You probably don't
have this much muscle.
I'm probably twice as heavy as you.
(clock ticking)
- Nope.
Oh my goodness.
- This thing is gonna go!
(suspenseful music)
- Uh oh.
- Your foot looks really slippery there.
(suspenseful music)
- What are you doing?
(upbeat music)
- I'll give it to you.
That was a pretty good move.
- Yeah, that's terrifying.
Yeah! (laughs loudly)
- What the heck.
- Regina, you still have a chance to win.
- Yes, I do.
If I win, I think I'm going to expose Vy.
Although, I do know what
it's like to have a secret,
I have the secret room,
so maybe I won't expose her.
But I really wanna know!
I don't know.
- Here we go it is Chad Wild Clay's turn
to roll the dice.
Oh!
A big two.
- That's a very small number actually.
One.
Oh.
And number two.
Oh this looks fun and familiar.
PZ9 what do these sodas mean?
- For ever soda bottle you
cut through in one slice,
you advance that many squares.
With only a couple squares left,
you can win!
- If I can slice through three bottles,
one--
- Then you can be in the square with me.
- Two.
- The black square. (laughs loudly)
- Back to the beginning.
I wanna slice through three.
The end.
- Vy's secret.
I think you oughta know Chad,
of all the Spy Ninjas to know.
- You think I should know the secret?
It's like she betrayed us.
And I wanna see what
those missing words are.
I kinda do wanna know what the secret is.
I'm gonna get through all three of these,
with my futuristic machete.
- Ooh la la.
- Remember this lie detector, Daniel?
- [Daniel] I do.
That was the first ninja
gadget I ever held.
- That's right.
- I got to use it too. (laughs loudly)
It's sharp.
- It's gonna go plonk, plonk, plonk.
(rockets to the sky)
- You gotta find her secret Chad.
I wanna know.
- Me too!
Ninja slice.
Give me the countdown everybody.
- [Spy Ninjas] Three.
Two.
One.
(suspenseful music)
(upbeat music)
- [Spy Ninjas] (cheers loudly)
- You did it Chad!
- You barely got this one.
- Look at that,
I definitely knicked it.
Look at that a soda stream.
Ah!
Orange soda in my mouth,
in my face.
- That really looks tasty.
- Here have a sip.
Have a sip.
Oh!
(laughs loudly)
- You ruined my beard.
- But you know what that means,
I hit three sodas,
so that is a one,
a two,
and a three.
(triumphant music)
Vy's secret!
Yay!
Oh gosh what should I do?
Spy Ninja's comment down below.
Count how many are there open it,
or comment,
don't open it,
or burn it.
I don't know.
- Chad, open it!
- Yeah, open it.
- Open it already.
- Vy, what do you think?
- Don't open it, Chad.
You're my husband.
You should respect what I want to do.
- That's true.
I should respect your
privacy, shouldn't I?
- Yeah.
- Even though I really
wanna know what's on here.
- Remember our vows?
For better, for worse.
For whatever your wife wants to do,
you do it.
- I don't remember saying
that at our wedding.
Vy, I probably should trust you.
You are my wife.
I'm gonna open it like this.
I'm gonna reach into my pocket.
- Yes.
- For my glasses, so I can read the note.
Just kidding.
- No!
- [Daniel] Chad, what?!
- I gotta respect Vy's privacy.
It's the interest to light things on fire,
so we're just gonna go ahead and stomp it,
out like that.
- [Daniel] No, Chad!
- Vy needs her privacy.
If she doesn't want us to see something,
if she's got a secret--
- Yes.
- We should let her have her secrets,
just like--
- Yes
- Regina's got her secret room.
- Oh yeah.
- Chad, that was a really bad idea.
You just missed out on
one of the juiciest piece
of spicy knowledge.
- About Vy?
- Oh yeah.
- Juicy, spicy?
- But I guess it's good.
You guys can continue on
with your regular lives now.
- Chad, we told you man.
- [Spy Ninjas] Hey! Get 'em!
Go!
- Give me back my phone!
- We'll look in that envelope.
- It's only half way burnt.
- Yeah, let's go.
- It's sitting right there.
- Yeah, yeah.
Here's the secret.
- Yes.
- It's finally time to find out.
- See.
(gasps loudly)
Oh!
(suspenseful music)

The Fatal Flaw of Subaru Cars

The Fatal Flaw of Subaru Cars

Scotty Kilmer:

rev up your engines,
Camden, Scotty thoughts on newer Subarus
and CVT reliability if you heard their
cars not of the 90s I'm looking to buy a
Forester okay, Subarus one main big flaw
was their automatic transmissions were
garbage over time and they cost a
fortune to rebuild, their CV
transmissions are no different, they
still have problems and they cost a
fortune to rebuild, you want something
that you're gonna drive forever do not
buy one, if you want a Subaru and
you want it to last a really long time
get a standard transmission and they
are well-built, there are actually
standard transmissions, but do not buy an
automatic transmission Subaru and think
it's gonna last forever, if you have to
buy an automatic transmission go Toyota
they make the best ones, there's no if
ands or buts about it, but if you like
Subarus and you can drive a standard, go
ahead and get one at standard but never
by any of the Subarus with automatics or
CVT s, because they have lots of problems
I rented a Subaru with a CVT and it had
like 8,000 miles and the transmission was
already shifting crappy, so there's no
way that I'd ever buy one of those
things, I'll run them because if it breaks
it's not my problem it's the rental cars
company, and I always do rent different cars
when I go on a business trip or
vacation because I like trying out all the
different cars to tell people what I think
about them, Kevin
rank says, my parents bought
me a 2006 Nissan Altima in October with over
with over 150 thousand miles they bought
it for $2,800 did they pay too much, yes
they did that's a 13 year old Nissan
Altima with 150,000 miles on it, now $2,800
doesn't buy what it used to buy, but I
wouldn't have paid that much for it for
sure because Nissan's are notorious for
having problems, now let's say it doesn't
burn much oil and the transmission
shifts good, if it does, then at least
it's still a decent car but those
engines are notorious for burning oil
and blowing head gaskets for having bad
automatic transmissions, so baby that car
now I know you can drive them fast but
don't take off Jackrabbits and don't do
burnouts on that thing, because then
you're pushing your luck, it's like
playing with fire, they have weak engines
and
weak automatic transmissions, so baby it
change the oil every four or 5,000
miles and you never know, you know
$2,800 these days for car isn't that
much money, but they did pay a little bit
too much for it with that mileage
knowing those, if it had been a Toyota no
but for the Nissan yes that's a bit too
much, Shatty says is high
mileage full synthetic beneficial or is
continuing full synthetic fine if you
have no leaks or burning off, oh yeah
you can just stick with full synthetic
if you've been using that, the high mileage
stuff you know, they claim oh it's
gonna do this, it's gonna do that, there's
no miracle additives, if an engine is worn
an engine is worn, and if you're
not burning or leaking oil and you're
using full synthetic just stick to what
you're using, the reason people go to
these, Oh for an older engine and it
helps them out high mileage is because
maybe they got bad seals and it's
leaking oil, it can maybe rejuvenate them
a little, and it might have additives that can try to lubricate the engine a
little bit better, but if you're not
leaking or burning oil
my advice is stick with the oil that
you've been using and it's working why
change something it works,
Greg D says, I got a 2013 Honda with a
CVT transmission it went out at 125,000
miles, we want to replace it what do you
think is the most reliable car out there,
you had a Honda you didn't say what kind of
Honda you had, let's say you had a Civic
well then go get a Toyota Corolla
they're much more reliable or are you
saying you've had an accord get a Camry
the Toyota Camrys costs more but they're
very reliable cars and they're much more
luxurious, depends on what kind of money
you want to spend you know, I mean
sometimes people ask me, should I buy
this car or that car, sometimes they're
completely different cars, I say it
depends what you want, do you want a
luxury ride a lot of acceleration or do
you want a car that's gonna last forever
and get better gas mileage, you got to
decide what kind of car you want and
then go from there, but regardless of
what type of car you want look for it in
a Toyota, because their still the most
dependable cars out there, and I'm not
being paid by Toyota, I wish I was you
know, they probably got a lot of money
because they make really good cars but, fool
proof
eske says, Scotty I bought a 1993 Honda
Accord with a manual
transmission when I'm shifting gears it
takes a while for the RPMs to drop and
the lag in RPMs can be noticed, car
has two hundred sixty eight thousand
miles on it, okay if you shift and
that takes too long for the RPMs to drop
odds are you need a new clutch and it's
just slipping, any mechanic let them road
test it they'll tell you if the clutch is
slipping, the clutch could just be
slipping and wearing out, it winches inside
the disc and as it's worn, the pressure
isn't enough that the disc gets too thin and
it'll start to slip and then the RPMs
won't go down, so odds are you just need
a new clutch in it, it's you know two
hundred sixty eight thousand miles, the
thing is just flat worn out, so if you
never want to miss another one of my new
car repair videos, remember to ring
that Bell!

The Truth About Buying a New Volvo Car

The Truth About Buying a New Volvo Car

Scotty Kilmer:

Rev up your engines,
Michael says, Scotty I have a 2015 Volvo V60
T5, what are your thoughts on it, I have no
problems so far, I'm curious about issues,
ok it's only a 2015, Volvo used to make great
cars, I had an Aunt that had a P1800, those
little cute sports cars, and and she had over
a million miles on that thing, but this was
in the 1960's,
now Volvos are European high tech cars,
if you like it and you're having fun with
it great,
just realize when it gets older it's going
to turn into a money pit,
all of my customers that bought one in the
last decade and a half never bought another
one if they kept it for long,
because they found out that,
oh my god I have to spend a fortune fixing
this thing and it breaks down all the time,
but yours is new enough and you bought it,
take car of it and drive it,
because if you try selling it now, you're
going to find out how much money you're going
to lose selling it,
I mean you're going to lose probably 70-80%
of what you paid for it,
so don't sell it now, take car of it and you
never know it might last for a really long
time,
it's not going to last you know, 15-20 years
or even longer like the old Volvos and the
modern Toyotas still do,
Sing says, my car's air intake got flooded
with water, it's fixed but it makes a high
pitched sound when I start it, it makes a
metal spinning sound when driving,
ok odds are the engine was damaged, if your
intake got flooded with water, especially
if it was while you were driving,
air and fuel mixture compresses with the pistons,
then the spark plug ignites it to make it
go,
if you get water in there, water cannot compress,
so the water gets sucked in and when the piston
goes up, it can't compress it and the valves
are closed so what happens is,
it bends the piston rod,
you can't see it,
and a lot of times you can't even test for
it,
but when it starts doing that, and then you
get an internal noise, it means the engine
is shot and you'd have to rebuild the whole
engine and as I said earlier, modern cars
cost so much money to rebuild correctly, hardly
anybody does it,
so find a mechanic like me, or make a video
of it, upload it to me, I'll watch it, and
I hear the noise, and if I hear it's the pistons
going, get rid of it, don't even think about
fixing it,
or put another engine in the car,
sometimes guys get lucky and they get used
ones from a salvage yard for $600-$700 and
they put them in and they run good,
but actually rebuilding them costs so much
money it's not really worth it,
Daniel says, do I need to change my front
brakes at 80,000 KM, my brakes have never
been changed, well that's what, like 44,000
miles or so,
if it works ok and it doesn't shake when you
step on the brake why bother,
I've got customers that go 100,000 miles in
modern cars and they haven't worn out yet
so they just leave them alone, leave them
be,
I mean if you're curious, just take off your
right front wheel, that's the one that wears
out first,
and if you see it's still pretty thick, don't
even worry about it, modern braking systems
can really last a long time, they're pretty
well made,
rocket racer says, Mr. Kilmer, what was your
first car and do you miss it,
yeah first car i ever had was an Opel, and
I used to have dreams about it all the time,
by wife said, you're nuts, you're still dreaming
about that car,
I said yeah you know, it was one of those
sports car, and yeah it was me, my first car
was a German car, but I only paid $500 for
it,
so you know it was only like 6 years old,
it only had like 60,000 miles on it so,
and I miss it from that extent that it's sentimental
but hey their nothing compared to Toyotas
I mean,
since then my own personal cars,
I've owned 2 Toyotas you know,
so when was a Corolla SR5 and the other is
the Celica I have now so,
you know you're talking about 30 something
years, I'd rather have the Toyotas by far,
so if you never want to miss another one of
my new car repair videos, remember to ring
that bell!

3D Printed Car Parts!

3D Printed Car Parts!

BTR Justin:

hey everybody my name is Justin welcome back to our BTR garage have you guys
ever heard of 3D printing if you haven't
it is a manufacturing process where you
can make all kinds of different things
in the world
using a 3D based computer model
everything from smartphone cases to
utensil holders to medical equipment
even artificial organs as crazy as that
sounds can be created with 3d printing
now in our use case car parts we're
looking for 3D printed car parts and I
have my first 3D printed car components
that we're going to be installing on the
car we're gonna show you what we've got
and then get it installed
the use cases for 3d printed car parts
is almost endless from door handles to
headlights taillights mirrors clips in
clamps fuel in brake plumbing fittings
it probably goes on and on
now for my 2017 BRZ here what I have is
a pair of these little guys now can
anybody guess what these are just by
looking at them
probably not they are actually
compression canister mounts for my mcs
suspension on the car here what these
will do is allow us to mount the
canisters similar to the way they are
mounted today on those upper strut
braces on the car it eliminates the need
for the stock or other homemade type of
canister mount that you might have for
me I have the MCS specific mounts that
you zip ties and the little metal
brackets these are much cleaner and
better-looking in my opinion and these
come from a company called Rapid 3Design they make these for the mcs canisters
I'm sure you can get them for other
suspension canisters as well that have
remote canisters like this and it is a
true 3d printed part you can tell just
by looking at it the 3d printed layers
all the way down the canister mount
they're very cool little parts what
we're gonna do is remove the MCS kit
that I have on there right now and then
get these guys installed there's a
special little process to get these
installed you have to actually warm them
up in some warm soapy water so they
become a little bit more flexible and
then we'll install them on to the upper
strut brace and then slide the canister
through the large end of the hole and
that should be it removing the old mcs
mount kit was pretty simple I just
clipped the big zip ties on there and
set them aside and set the canister down
to the wayside as well here I had to
clean up some of those old tape that I
put on the brace in order to protect it
from getting scratched and things so
we'll get that taken off as well and
then clean up the residue on the bar
left over by the tape
next we're gonna move the actual brace
grab a small bowl of hot tap water put a
little bit of soap in it and then grab
your 3d printed mount and drop it in
there we're gonna let that sit in there
for about five or six minutes so it
softens up and becomes pliable
you'll also notice I have a heat gun
over here or a hairdryer you can use as
well to heat up the part once it's
actually on the bar here to make it more
pliable when we put the compression
canister through the mounts alright once
that has been sitting in the water for a
little while we'll take it out and then
you'll see I marked the brace with a
little blue tape and with a mark on the
ends so I know which end is the inside
I'm going to slide this over the flared
end of this side of the bar and this is
the most tricky part of the process but
stuff is pretty flexible and pliable and
just kind of get it over the lip like
that and then you can press it over
further
and it will go on slowly but surely once
you get over the flared and there it
slides down the rest of the way pretty
easily and we'll go ahead and put the
bar back into place just a couple of the
nuts and bolts for the moment just so I
can orient the canister mounts there we
go get that into position move our
marking tape and this is where we'll
grab our heat gun and just heat up the
larger part of the mount just a little
bit you don't want to get too hot the
instructions say don't go hotter than
300 degrees Fahrenheit but just use the
heat gun a little bit
to get it more pliable I'm gonna grab a
little soap from the bucket that we had
just put it in there a little soapy
water just to make it slide in a little
bit smoother grab the canister
and then it's just a matter of getting
it slipped through and this is another
one of the tricky parts of it there we
go almost there ah there we go as you
can see once you get it over the initial
hump on the canister it slides pretty
easily in that mount as it starts to
cool off it will shrink a little bit and
then tighten up but pretty much good
there we'll throw our other nuts back on
to the brace here make sure they are
snug down
and after a bit of cooling off these
things are good to go nice and solid
don't move around and I can actually
adjust the compression knob without
touching the cannister with the MCs
kit I actually had to hold the cannister
while twisting the knob because it would
just move too much but these are nice
and salty so there we go everybody 3d
printed shocked reservoir mounts for my
Subaru BRZ from Rapid 3Design you can
check them out at Rapid3Design.com
they also have a Facebook page which
I'll put the links down in the
description below if you want to check
them out and some of the other things
they are 3d printing these days so if
you have any thoughts comments or
questions on my first ever 3d printed
part for my car leave them down below
I'd love to hear from you stick around
for more good stuff coming up here real
soon stay fast out there I am check it
out we'll talk to you all next time

Complete Disaster Interior & Exterior Car Detailing Transformation! Dirtiest Car Detailing Ep. 17

Complete Disaster Interior & Exterior Car Detailing Transformation! Dirtiest Car Detailing Ep. 17

Stauffer Garage:

alright guys so today's detail on Stauffer Garage if you
can't tell already is of a 2017 Honda
Odyssey minivan that has been completely
kid trashed and you guys can tell from
these before shots how bad it truly is
the whole inside is gonna need to be
gutted we're gonna have to shampoo and
wipe down everything I mean this thing
is gonna need a ton of work on the
inside not only you're gonna do the
inside of the car but we're gonna start
first with the outside of the car and
we're gonna do a deep clean of the
entire exterior and we're gonna also use
a spray-on ceramic coating to protect
the paint make it shine because this
actual red maroon color that's on this
paint is actually brilliant it looks
beautiful in the Sun so we're gonna
protect paint we're gonna get the tires
coated we're gonna do a full car
transformation today for you guys so if
you like these sort of videos put a
thumbs up button turn on notifications
since hit that subscribe button below if
you haven't already and let's go ahead
and get started because this one is
gonna take some time alright so for the
exterior of the car I'm starting with
using the foam cannon and the two bucket
method to wash the exterior paint the
foam cannon does a really good job with
kind of saturating the entire paint with
a layer of foam and a layer of soap so
that way when you go back with your
sponge it does give you that extra
lubricity but honestly it's more for
effect and it looks awesome so that's
why I enjoy using it when I get the
opportunity
if you've ever used a foam can and you
know that you can actually probably just
use the wash mitt directly on the car at
that point but for me I like to use a
separate two bucket method as well just
to be precautious to make sure that I
have enough lubricity and soap on my
wash mitt before I let it touch the
paint now if you've never heard of the
two bucket method essentially you're
just using two buckets one has fresh
clean water one is your soapy water and
you're making sure that after you wash a
panel down you're dunking it first in
your clean water to rinse it off so that
way you don't carry contaminants over to
your clean bucket and then I also have a
third bucket that I specifically use
just for rims and tires so that way the
brake dust and everything else that gets
on those do not get on the paint
now when you're washing your car always
try to start from the top and work your
way down to the bottom now on this
Odyssey the front bumper had all those
different grilles and everything that
make it really difficult to wash so
having those detailing brushes
definitely help with getting into those
nooks and crannies to make sure you get
all those spots cleaned as well
now in this video I made sure I hired my
twin several times so you know make sure
you guys stand look out for him he pops
in and out every once in a while
now for the wheels and tires I have
several different tools that I like to
use I use a harder bristle brush to
actually scrub the tire itself and then
I have this softer brush that I use on
the face of the rim that's very gentle
make sure it doesn't scratch or Mar any
of the finishes whether it's Chrome or a
painted or a powder coated wheel and
then for the inside of the drums I have
this special brush that actually allows
me to get inside the drum get that clean
but then it also does Bend so I can get
behind the spokes of the wheel as well
and into some of those harder to reach
spots
but
now that we're completely done with
washing the car I'm going to rinse down
one last time with a pressure washer
before we jump into the hybrid ceramic
coating now there's many different ways
that you get ceramic coat and protect
your car but I've been really keen on
using this spray-on ceramic coatings
lately there was super easy to use they
make it really really quick for a
detailer to get the job done as well and
they do last a decent bit of time
between each wash for this one I'm using
the 303 ceramic spray and for this one
you need to rinse your car panel off
make sure it's wet after you've washed
it and then you just lightly mist it on
and spray it back off again and you'll
get that glossy beaded finish and it
does leave a really really nice shine on
the paint as you can see here in the
slo-mo shot when I'm done with washing
the car and I'm done applying the
ceramic coating I like to use a plain
hose so that way you can make a really
big sheet of water and a lot of that
water drips right off the car
immediately before you use your drying
towel to finish the job the drying towel
that I use is actually super super thick
ply and when I drop it on the car and
literally just can drag it across the
surface that is probably the most
satisfying thing for me when you're
trying to dry your car
it just it literally soaks up any
remaining water that's on the surface
after you put on that coating
now that the outside is completely done
we're going to start moving in the
interior and since this is a super trash
car everything has to come out including
the seats from the front and the back
everything comes out of this thing
because there is a lot of work to do as
you guys can see from these shots once I
pull the seats out the damage was 10
times worse than I initially thought
one thing I always bring with me on
these details is these black plastic
bins that I use and I I just literally
throw everything into them that's not
straight up trash but it allows them to
then sort through all their stuff and
make sure that I don't throw anything
away accidentally
now when I was clearing everything out
of the car I could definitely tell that
there's a lot of debris underneath the
seats in between the armrest and the
seats in the center console so those
seats had to come out and I definitely
I'm glad I picked up those star bits
that you guys recommend I pick up from
all the different details in the past
that I've done where I haven't had the
star bits available to me and they came
in handy for this Honda and I got both
the front seats out as well there's so
much more room for activities in here
honestly the good news though was when I
got all the seats out and inspected just
the carpet besides finding bacon was
that there wasn't a lot of staining and
this is being a black carpet there
probably is some that I could have
extracted but the good news was is there
wasn't anything like roach motel where
he had like milkshake caked into the
fibers and it was just a complete crap
show
when it came to removing the dog here
any fibers from the carpet I use the
lily brush quite a bit in this detail
but if you have a lot of flat surface
area you can just use a regular squeegee
as well to kind of speed up some of
those bigger areas
honestly I haven't worked on a newer
Honda Odyssey but all these different
sliders and panels and stuff for this
middle row actually drove me crazy
because I just felt they were so
unnecessary to have all of these
different adjustments because literally
you just typically have pilot seats or
you have a three row seat I just I
didn't get it but literally it made a
little bit more difficult to clean it I
didn't want to unbolt it completely just
from a complexity standpoint in time but
every panel that I could remove I did
remove to vacuum and get underneath
before clipping it back on
this back third-row area you can see
here how much debris the lily brush
brought up and how much dog hair it
removed and honestly just transformed
the carpet itself just by vacuuming and
using that brush as always guys I tried
to leave all of the links to every tool
that I use in the description box below
for you guys so if you want to check
those out and pick them up they're
listed down there for you
I filled three times the gym
so now the inside is completely vacuumed
and all the dog hair is completely
removed from the car it is time to move
on to the floor mats and when it comes
to floor mats or any kind of carpet
cleaning I always follow the same
process of starting with vacuuming then
moving on to using a lily brush or spot
treating spraying on some spot treatment
with folic and then I have my spray
bottle that I use to completely saturate
the entire top surface of the floor mat
before using my drill brush to agitate
and you guys know I love to agitate my
carpets after that's done I'm using my
extractor which my extractor I just use
plain hot water because I want to
extract all of the dirt along with all
of the soap and chemicals and all the
product that I applied to the surface
out of the fibers to get it completely
clean
one thing I do recommend for you guys if
you are doing this on your own if you
have some sort of folding table or some
sort of elevated surface it does make it
a lot easier to keep the bottom of the
floor mat clean without having to put it
on the ground but also makes it a little
bit easier on your back when you're
doing the job
buzzing dies in their dreams but we
still wake up
when it comes to applying any of your
cleaner vacuuming or using your drill
brush or even your extractor I always
try to do a slightly overlap past every
single time because on the outsides of
every one of those tools it's usually
the weaker end of the actual scrubbing
power or vacuuming or extraction phase
and by overlapping to make sure you
don't miss any spots
now this back third row floor mat was
probably the best one of all because of
the amount of dog hair and just how when
I sped this up it looked like it just it
literally looked like the lily brush was
just floating across the surface when I
got it all out
as you can see in this back third row
floor mat I had a lot of overspray from
the drill brush and when that usually
happens I try to wipe down the surface
before I move on to the extraction phase
because if you start moving the floor
around around all of that soap and stuff
that gets on the outside of it will kind
of soak back into the fibers so I always
try to keep my work area clean when I'm
working so that way I don't cross
contaminate anything
how dirty this car was on the inside in
certain spots I was really surprised
with some of the floor mats with how
little dirt was actually extracted from
them I mean that they were actually kept
fairly pretty clean and there wasn't any
huge spills which was nice to see but I
still have the bucket shot and the money
shot for you guys here and how much dirt
was literally extracted even though I
couldn't see it in my extraction nozzle
now moving back into the interior and
with all of the caked on stuff and the
cup holders in the center console area
and several spots around the car I
definitely busted out the steam cleaner
to do this job
the best part about using the steam
cleaner is it not only helps saturate
any of that caked on stuff but because
it is steam it can heat up and loosen up
and melt some of that you know sticky
residue or whatever it is on the
surfaces of those parts and I'm only
using my shop back here because one it
kind of sucks up any of the water that
kind of condenses after it hits the
surface but also makes it a little bit
easier for you guys to see on camera
without the steam completely just
engulfed in the entire inside of the car
now for the dashboard and the steering
wheel I'm using an all-purpose cleaner
and my bristle brush in a microfiber
towel to get them to all those different
nooks and crannies to get those
completely cleaned also make sure you
don't forget the mir visor and the
little sub window visor thing that they
have on Honda Odysseys and the sunroof
as well those are commonly missed parts
especially if you're just focusing on
that center area and the lower parts of
the car
now for the inside of the car any panels
or any plastic trims the process for me
is I always use my all-purpose cleaner
and my bristle brush to get those areas
clean and wipe down and then I follow up
with my surface protectant and that
could be you know you have 303 aerospace
protectant or you have Chemical Guys
silk shine but for me Chemical Guys silk
shine has been my kind of my go-to for a
while because I really do like the
finish it really does give a nice shine
it makes it look like new
now if your car is as dirty as this car
was I do recommend if you can pop off
your panels and work on them separately
it does make it a lot easier on your
back and also with making sure that you
get every part of them clean they all
usually typically just pop out and pop
back in really really easily and it's
nothing to worry about it's really
pretty easy to do now when it comes to
leather seats there's several different
things to consider most if not all
modern leather seats are not actually
pure leather like you would think they
are they actually all have a protective
polymer coating on them that keeps them
looking nice for a long period of time
compared to leather in the past whereas
if you had plain leather seats and you
got slight water on them it would
essentially stain whereas today that
doesn't happen because of that when I
clean leather seats I always try to use
all-purpose cleaner wipe the seats down
and then I actually just used the
Chemical Guys soap and shine again to
protect them from UV rays and gives them
some sort of you know glossy finish to
them but there's not any conditioning
that has to take place with modern seats
now that the seats are done and wiped
down I'm moving on to the interior
panels the car starting with the trunk
the trunk sill the inside of the trunk
panels and inside of the car itself
around the cupholders and everything for
that third row
I think you guys have probably remember
me saying this in every single video is
I always recommend if you have a super
dirty car get the seats pulled out it
just makes your life so much easier when
it comes to getting everything clean and
making sure you don't miss any spots
when it comes to cleaning glass I just
use invisible glass product and I spray
that on the surface use a clean
microfiber towel to do a single pass
fold it over to another dry site and
then buff it clean to make sure I don't
have any remaining residue
now one trick like this car it had
stickers on the back window if you want
to remove those I recommend picking up a
steam cleaner it's also good if your
kids color on anything with crayons on
any plastic panels the steam cleaner
helps with getting it melted and gets
you know the the glue or residue or
whatever's on there lift it or at least
somewhat pliable so that way you can
wipe it clean with a microfiber towel
it also comes in handy for any doorframe
or door panel especially around some of
the harder to reach spots with a
microfiber towel that have grease
heating it up with steam and kind of
blowing it away and then wiping it clean
I also utilized the steam cleaner for
this second third row plastic region to
get it completely cleaned and then I
made sure that I followed up with
another vacuuming on the inside because
sometimes you can blow like little
pieces of debris Plus with getting him
out of the car cleaning all the surfaces
doing a final vacuum is something I
highly recommend
now when it comes to any seatbelts or
this pull strap on a rear throw using a
steam cleaner makes it really easy to
get those clean because all you have to
do is completely saturate it with steam
and then just use a microfiber towel to
wipe it clean
one thing everybody always asked me is
when it comes to reading in the seats do
you use a torque wrench to torque them
down and I would say that I typically do
and in this case I did use a torque
wrench to bolt down the front seats the
other seats just clip back in if you are
trying to figure out what your torque
specs are I would just search online
there's usually some sort of form or
message board that talks about it and
you can figure out that information and
here are the before and after shots of
this transformation and I do want to say
I am super happy that I did the outside
in the inside it's been a while since
I've done a full car transformation for
you guys and getting the opportunity to
clean the outside use the foam cannon
and protect the paint and then bust out
the steam cleaner kind of was nostalgic
to some of my first videos that I
published for you guys I wasn't able to
get the customers reaction but I will
say they were super super happy with the
end results
so thank you guys for watching today and
if you've made it this far in the video
I want you to leave the comment meatloaf
down below because I will know what that
means but everyone else will have no
idea and I think that would be awesome
to do so thank you guys so much for
watching today if you're not subscribed
go ahead and subscribe hit the like
button as well and I will see you guys
in the next video bye guys pressure
washer you know no pressure washers for
you
never mind at their own anyways but we
have our work cut out today for this
stop it we ever worked it out for us
today guys to the interior and airplane
I had like a window silence there and I
completely botched it hopefully one of
these before
hopefully one of these previous intros
work
