Chevy Sonic Difference Between Hatchback and Sedan

Chevy Sonic Difference Between Hatchback and Sedan

Bob Hook Chevy:

Alright guys welcome to Bob Hook
Chevrolet on this bright and sunny day. I
have two awesome vehicles right in front
of me, and one is the Sonic LT and it's a
sedan and I also have the Sonic
hatchback in the RS model and I'm going
to talk about the sonic first, the sedan
version. And as you can see right up
front, we have the daytime running lamps
which are down there with the projection
headlights. Right up front what you're
going to see is that little camera right
in that glass. That's gonna be for Ford
collision. Now if we come right up here
that's where you're gonna see this
little camera right here.
So as you're as you're realizing this,
this vehicle right here is also chocked
full of some other good safety features
along with this sonic that's right over
here.
But the first thing that comes to mind,
not a safety feature just moreso a
convenience factor, let me show you
something on this other side. So
Chevrolet has a lot of vehicles in the
lineup that are equipped with a thing
called passive entry and what passive
entry does is all you have to do is keep
your key fob around you or in the
proximity of about a body length and
doing so, you press this little silver
button right here. This unlocks the
vehicle. Notice how easy it is to get in
the vehicle and then from there, to make
things even more easier, let me show you
this. Come over here. What you're gonna
notice is this has push-button start. The
sonics in the past did not have
push-button start, so we're really
excited to have that feature. So this
will help me turn on the vehicle. Now
also, the same way to turn on your
vehicle, is the same way to turn off the
vehicle; by pressing the stop button. Now
one good thing to note in doing so, to
start your vehicle you must apply the
brake and then, push this button that's
right next to the steering wheel. And
then from there, just looking at this car
in a glance, what you can see this has a
heated steering wheel, this has Ford
collision which is this button as I was
describing earlier on this camera. You
have standard cruise control. You have
Bluetooth capabilities. You have Lane
Keep assist which is a really really
cool feature. Basically to describe that,
as you're running down the highway what
you'll notice is you can take your hands
off the steering wheel and the car will
correct itself inside the lane. It's
something that along with all the other
convenience of the Sonic, that helps you
get down the road just a little bit
easier. Also in doing so, what I'm seeing
is this has heated seats. This has power
locks, traction control, it has an
emergency brake right here in case
you're on some hills. If you can see this
right here
Vwa- Lah and I'll apply the breakdown.
Also from the outside, let me show you
this. This vehicle has 15 inch rims.
Notice on the size of the vehicle that
it doesn't need really really big rims.
Now this kind of transitions me over to
talking about the 2019 Chevy Sonic
hatchback in the RS model. Now if y'all
follow me over here, notice the
difference in the design right off the
bat. This is what we call a hatchback,
versus the sedan, which was over.
Now some really easy differences right
off the bat that you're gonna see is 16
inch wheels versus the 15 inch wheels.
You still have standard equipped with
the passive entry right here. Now here's
something that I do want to show you.
Notice the difference in the interior?
Notice the badging right there for the
RS? Now a lot of the same features that I
was showing you in that other vehicle
you're going to see in this vehicle, but
the the big thing about the RS is only
an appearance thing. Now if you come
around to the front, what you're going to
notice again is the badging and you're
gonna see the black bow ties which look
really neat. This one also is equipped
with fog lights. You have the daytime
running lamps with the projection
headlights. Now if we run on over here,
what you're gonna notice is this has a
little bit different styling with the
tail, right here. Again, you have the Chevy
part black bowtie you have the RS emblem
right up here. Now notice how the head
the tail lights look very similar to
what you're seeing right there, but again
it's placed inside a hatchback. Something
that's also good to note right here is
this has these little sensors right here.
So notice that there's a backup camera
right below the Chevy emblem right down
there.
This helps with a learning driver as
they're putting the vehicle in reverse,
that you're getting too close to
something.
Now from here, something different that
you're gonna see to let me open this all
these doors. Alright,
so opening up this door, what you're
gonna see is a little bit of different
space configuration. Now give me a second
and let me pull the seat up so you can
see what it's like in the backseat.
Notice that in the RS you have the RS
floor mats, but we have this one equipped
with the rubber floor mats right now. Now
notice that there's no headrest right
here. That's because we have them in the
back space, but I want you to see the
configuration of what you get in the
back seat. Now there's a couple other
cool things on this that I do want to
show you. And first off, if you have
children this does have child locks and
those are right here. See that little
latch right there? if you take one of the
keys and then you turn this over, that
will lock that door so you can only open
it from the outside as opposed to being
able to open it from the inside. Now a
couple nice features that people really
desire, you have the heated seats and you
have again, cruise control for collision,
you have bluetooth, you have your lane
keep assist as I was talking about in
that other vehicle right there. You have
your vanity mirrors right here, check
them out.
Vanity mirrors.
Now let me show you this, this is the
same thing that I was doing in the other
Sonic that you put your foot on the
brake and start the car. Now
the real cool thing about this is the
space configuration inside the trunk. Let
me show you what that will look like.
That's okay. Now as you can see the
little space right there.
Now this vehicle starts at the MSRP just
over $21,000.
There's tons of rebates and incentives
this month so come out and see us and we
would love to help get you in either the
Sonic sedan or the Sonic hatchback. And we also have a lot of
other vehicles in the Chevrolet lineup
ranging from again the Spark, the Sonic,
the Cruze, the Malibu; we have a wide
array of SUVs. Come ask for one of us my
name is Jake from Bob Hook Chevrolet.
Find the dude that's wearing khakis,
that's me right there. If you have any questions and you want to call us, you can call us at
(502) 499-0800
just ask for somebody in sales and
subscribe to our Youtube channel! That's
really important! We would like for you
to also hit the like button when you see
this video but again, take another peek
of the Sonic hatchback RS

2012 Chevy Sonic LTZ Turbo Review / Test Drive = MPGomatic

2012 Chevy Sonic LTZ Turbo Review / Test Drive = MPGomatic

MPGomatic:

MPG-o-Matic 2012 Chevrolet Sonic
Turbo Review Summary: What
a difference a year makes. While the outgoing
Chevy Aveo ranked at the bottom of all the
cars we’ve tested over the years, the 2012
Sonic LTZ Turbo has muscled its way into the
top of the sub-compact class. The sleeping
giant has awakened. While the Sonic Turbo
might not be the golden egg - nor a beautiful
swan - it’s surely a blast to drive and
American-built, to boot.
Hi, I’m Dan Gray for MPGomatic.com and this
is a Chevy Sonic LTZ Turbo.
Available as a four-door sedan and five-door
hatchback, the 2012 Chevy Sonic can be equipped
with either a naturally-aspirated 1.8-liter
or a turbocharged 1.4-liter four cylinder
engine.
The turbo 1.4-liter produces 138 HP and 148
foot pounds of torque and is paired with a
six-speed manual transmission
The official fuel economy estimates for the
turbocharged 1.4-liter 2012 Chevy Sonic are
29 city / 40 highway MPG. The standard 1.8-liter
Sonic is rated at 25 city / 35 highway with
the six-speed automatic transmission and 26
city / 35 highway with the five-speed manual.
We covered well over 500 miles in our six-speed
manual Inferno Orange five-door Sonic LTZ
Turbo review unit and had no problem meeting
the official mileage estimates, achieving
a average of 41.5 MPG on the Interstate highway
and 34.3 MPG combined in temperatures that
ranged from the high-forties through the seventies.
Leave the line a bit too hot, and the turbo
four will provoke plenty of wheelspin.
The monochrome LCD Driver Information Center
provides trip computer functions, an Average
Fuel Economy display, and an upshift light.
We’d like to see a real-time fuel economy
display, added to next year’s model.
The improvement over the outgoing Aveo is
like night and day. It isn’t just that the
Sonic rides and handles well ... it’s genuinely
fun to toss about, whether darting through
city traffic or out in twisties.
Chevy describes the Sonic’s design as being
motorcycle-inspired and that’s clearly evident
in the unique dashboard arrangement. The Sonic
LZ’s interior features a leather-wrapped
steering wheel with audio controls, leatherette
seating surfaces and one-level front seat
heating. The driver’s bucket seat offers
four-way manual adjustment.
A dual glovebox arrangement includes USB input
and audio line-in ports in the upper glovebox,
with provisions to either route the cable
out, or store the phone or media player within.
Bluetooth is standard, with phonebook downloads
to the head unit. The six-speaker sound system
includes XM Satellite Radio and Bluetooth
audio streaming. iPod support is well done,
with full access to playlists, albums, and
artists. Three months of XM Radio and GM’s
OnStar service are standard.
The single 12-volt outlet is located between
the front bucket seats.
The Sonic hatchback’s second row seats allow
38.1 inches of headroom and 34.6 inches of
leg room. The four-door sedan provides slightly
less headroom (37.8 inches).
The five-door Sonic provide 19 cubic feet
of storage with the rear seat up, and 30.7
cubic feet of storage with the 60/40 seat
folded down.
Wish List: The Sonic lacks adjustable lumbar
support.
All-in-all, the 2012 Chevy Sonic doesn’t
just win the most-improved award, it’s muscled
its way into the top of the sub-compact class
alongside the Fiesta and Fit. While there’s
room for improvement when it comes to fuel
economy, there’s never been a tiny Chevy
as fun to toss about, nor as well outfitted.
The Aveo is dead. Long live the Sonic.

2017 Chevrolet Sonic Review | Features Rundown | Edmunds

2017 Chevrolet Sonic Review | Features Rundown | Edmunds

Edmunds:

TRAVIS LANGNESS: I'm Travis
Langness, Edmunds editor,
with an Expert Rundown of
the 2017 Chevrolet Sonic.
On the outside,
the new Chevy Sonic
gets some updated styling,
new LED running lights
and projector headlights.
On the inside, a
rear view camera's
now standard across the
lineup, which is nice.
And the new seven-inch
touchscreen,
which comes with Chevy's MyLink
infotainment system, that
includes Apple CarPlay
and Android Auto,
is standard grade in
this class vehicle.
The cabin's pretty spacious
for this class vehicle as well.
Lots of headroom up
front and in the back.
Excellent crash
test safety scores.
The ride quality's pretty good.
Overall, you get a lot
more from this little car
than you expect.
And it's also pretty
unique in this class
that it's fun to drive.
A lot of cars in this class
feel humdrum, very point A
to point B transportation.
But we actually enjoy
driving the Sonic, especially
with the optional
turbocharged engine.
The base engine doesn't
get great fuel economy.
It's rated at 30 MPG
combined, which is OK.
But top rivals do a lot
better in this class.
Cabin materials are
kind of low rent.
It's what you expect
from this class.
But in context with the rest of
the car, it seems out of place.
The car drive so well, and
it looks nice on the outside.
But on the inside, there's a
lot of hard plastic to look at
and it surrounds a nice usable
interface on the touchscreen,
so it kind of throws you off.
Competitors like the Honda
Fit and the Ford Fiesta
and maybe even the
Kia Rio are going
to have a little bit
better interior quality.
But the bottom line
is the Chevy Sonic
stands out for its
roomy interior, lots
of standard features,
and it's even fun
to drive, especially with the
optional turbocharged engine.

competitors, go to YouTube

2015 Chevy Sonic Review

Markquart Motors:

Hi, I'm Scott Langman, Product Specialist at Markquart Motors, and today we're going
to talk about the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic.
Sonic is a great compact car that's going to get
excellent fuel economy
and yet have room for your friends and
family. With excellent exterior styling
we have a great look to the hatchback. The hatchback actually has a
hidden handle in the back so it does
look like a two-door with four-door
availability. We have a great looking front
end, bold headlamps,
big grille, and we also offer an RS package
which is going to give us a little more styling on the side in the front
with ground effects and great customization. Chevrolet Sonic does come in 2 different body styles.
We have a four-door sedan, and also the five-door hatchback. The five-door hatchback
offers great space. With the rear seat up you have a great amount of room for
groceries and cargo. And you can also fold
the second
row back and have some extra spacing
with the split
folding seat. Sonic does offer two
different engine sizes. We have a 1.8L
four-cylinder engine and the optional 1.4L 4-cylinder turbo.
Turbo offers excellent fuel economy,
increased horsepower and torque,
and is a very fun vehicle - getting up to
40 mpg
in fuel economy. You also have a Chevy Complete
Care with all of our 2015 Chevrolets, which includes two years of free maintenance:
Oil changes, tire rotation, and vehicle
inspections are included in that.
The interior of the Sonic has excellent
spacing. We've got a very high roof line so it's actually very easy to get in and
out of the vehicle. Awesome technology in the vehicle. We have
available WI-FI settings, we have
available
XM Radio, standard OnStar, and also
available remote
start. The instrument cluster is a motorcycle-inspired cluster.
Also unique to the vehicle is the safety. Five-star crash test rating
for a compact car. [Sonic] has 10 standard air bags.
It is also the only vehicle in its class that is made in America.
Chevrolet Sonic has fuel efficiency,
technology,
and safety all wrapped up in a trendy
design. Come see one today
at Markquart Motors between Eau Claire
and Chippewa Falls on business 53.
