2013 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ | In-depth Video Walkaround | Sherwood Park Chevrolet
Sherwood Park Chevrolet:
Hello and welcome to anther video walkaround
by myself Dakota down here at Sherwood park
Chev.
Today we are going to take a look at this
2013 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ Ultimate GFX
edition.
This is a four door, four wheel drive, crew
cab short bed truck in a white diamond that
seats up to five.
Under the hood we have a 5.3 liter V8 engine.
On the front: daytime running lights, front
fog lights, front tow hooks, that fantastic
chrome grille, and a Stampede hood deflector.
Coming down the side, you are going to be
riding on top of 20 inch Bridgestone mud and
snow tires, four wheel disc brakes, alloy
wheels.
And coming on in you can see there is a fair
amount of tread left.
Coming down the side, I'll show you in a second
as I let this car go by.
Coming down the side we have body-side mouldings
to prevent your doors from getting any dents
and dings in them.
We also have power running boards which I
will demonstrate to you in a minute.
Coming up top we have roof rails to assist
you with mounting anything you desire up there.
And our folding side mirrors have turn signal
light indicators on them.
Alright well there is a multitude of features
on the inside so if you'll join me I'll show
you them now.
Helping you into this 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche
is this handy-dandy key with key fob.
So you have you're lock, unlock, remote start,
and panic button.
Pressing unlock once to unlock your drivers
door.
Twice to unlock all your doors.
And coming on in, once again I had mentioned
those running boards.
Just as I had promised, there to assist you
in and out of this vehicle.
On the door we have power options for our
windows, mirrors, and locks.
As well as memory settings here for our power
seats that are both heated and ventilated.
On the bottom of the door, there is additional
storage.
We have WeatherTech floor mats which are specifically
engineered and designed to withstand tough
spills and messes.
And coming on into the interior we have Katskin
premium Tuscany "Amaretto" full face leather
front bucket seats that are 8 way power adjustable
including two way power lumbar support.
Tilt and telescopic steering, automatic settings
here for our headlights and our four wheel
drive controls, and trailer controls.
And coming on in, doing this as gracefully
as I can.
Starting her up for you.
The odometer reads only 121,832 kilometers.
There is an external temperature display of
22 degrees Celsius.
There is a compass as well.
We are facing South East.
And just using the buttons.
Hold up.
I lost myself for a second.
Sorry using the buttons over here on the side.
We have a couple of trips, fuel range till
empty, average fuel economy, fuel used, speedometer,
timer, transmission temperature, instant economy,
and right there back to the beginning.
Remaining oil life, units, tire pressure monitoring
system, trailer output, engine hours, and
a couple of other options there that you can
calibrate yourself.
And coming to this gorgeous, leather wrapped
steering wheel.
We have cruise control settings on the left.
It does come with heated steering.
So it's going to keep your hands nice and
toasty warm during the winter time.
On the right we have audio settings which
does include voice activation.
"Ready" Cancel "Cancel.
Thank you.
Goodbye.".
So keeping your hands on the wheel, eyes on
the road.
You'll see that all throughout this vehicle
we have dash appointments that are set to
match the leather upholstery.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Just gives it a very nice finished look to
it.
That is part of the Ultimate GFX package.
A variety of technological features that we
have in this vehicle, includes a colour touchscreen.
That does come equipped with SiriusXM Satellite
radio and AM and FM radio.
WE have navigation that does go into
a split screen.
Which is
absolutely lovely.

Lifts & Levels: 3.5” Rough Country 2008 Chevy Avalanche
Custom Offsets:
(upbeat music)
- Hey guys.
Brad here with Custom Offsets.
Got an episode of lifts and levels.
Another three and a half
inch Rough Country kit.
And I know you're probably thinking,
we've done a million of these
and you're right, we have,
I didn't want to do this
one, but Lawson's making me.
This one's different because
it's for an Avalanche.
Okay, so, three and a half
inch kits from Rough Country
for the Chevy Trucks are
pretty much all the same.
They're pretty much just
a glorified leveling kit
with upper control arms to
handle ball joint angles.
This kit's no different,
but it's for an Avalanche
so it is different.
On the Avalanche truck,
you got coil springs
in the rear rather than leaf,
so there's no blocks or
anything in their rear.
You got these spacers here,
which are gonna be your coil
spring spacers for the rear
to lift the rear of the truck up.
I believe they are an inch and
a half spacers for the rear.
I should probably measure that
now before everyone gets mad.
So, an inch and half spacers for the rear.
So you're gonna lift
the rear inch and a half
and the front three inches.
These are the spacers for the front.
These are gonna go on the struts up front.
By the way, I probably didn't mention
this is for an '07 and up Avalanche.
So, no torsion bar Avalanches,
these are for the strut trucks.
These are the front strut spacers.
You're gonna lift their
front three inches.
Their control arms for the front here.
The one thing that I really
am not crazy about with
Rough Country's three and a half inch kit
is the whole point of
these upper control arms
is to correct or handle
the new ball joint angle
better than factory arms,
and for most cases we see,
they really don't that
great of a job of it.
But we'll see on this one
if it's any different.
Also, you're gonna get your
sway bar endlings for the rear,
being that Avalanches have rear sway bars
because they're coil sprung.
And they float all over the road,
so you need a sway bar in the rear.
You got the front differential
skid plate here for when the
front diff gets lowered down
on that tiny little bit
that they do on these kits.
I believe that these are
the front diff spacers.
So, it does not get dropped down much.
'Cause there's no cutting
on the cross member or anything like that.
But it does get dropped down somewhat
to help with CV axle angles.
That's another thing that's
not really crazy about
on these three and a half
inch Rough Country kits.
And then, last but not least,
shock spacers for the rear.
You reuse factory shocks.
on pretty much all Avalanche
lift kits out there,
this one's no different.
So, you actually have these brackets,
which will bolt in place
of the factory shock
and then the factory
shock will get, literally,
as you can see just moved up to here.
That's how that works.
So, you're gonna reuse the factory shocks.
That's why you see no
new shocks in this kit.
So, that's pretty much it.
Three and a half inch Rough Country kit
for 07 and up Avalanche trucks.
That's it.
(upbeat music)
Hello everyone,
we got the three and a
half inch Rough Country kit
installed in the truck here,
just like the other three
and a half inch kits
you've seen for Chevys,
it's gonna be the same thing up front.
Although this is an Avalanche kit,
so you got your upper control arms here,
which you can see are
quite an aggressive angle.
But the truck is up in the air.
So what really matters is
once it's on the ground,
and all the weight's on it
and the suspension's loaded.
But right now it doesn't look so great.
Looking at the tire rod
and the CV axle angles,
in the air pretty maxed out.
You could see the strut spacer up here.
That's what's gonna provide
a lift on the truck.
And then you can see,
you can't really see it.
Under the truck, the front diff is lowered
on these kits a tiny bit
with those plastic spacers.
Here, come under here.
Okay, so the diff is dropped
a little bit on this kit.
Actually, you saw those plastic spacers.
They almost look like a body lift spacer.
They're gonna be about
an inch and a half spacer
and that's what they're
gonna use to drop the diff.
And then, so you do actually
have to cut on this kit here.
You'll actually have to cut
the lower cross member here
that ties the control
arm pockets together,
the factory ones.
Because you're gonna need some clearance
for the front diff when
it's dropped down there.
So there's two cooling
fins up here on the diff
that you have to actually cut off.
So you've got to cut
the diff a little bit,
and then that cross member as well.
So, it's definitely not a no cut kit,
but you got to do that stuff
when you want to lower the
front differential down
and have good CV axle angles.
On this particular one, the
truck was rusted together,
as you can probably see.
And so we had to cut the
old control arm bolts off,
got a new cams in here, you
shouldn't have to do that,
unless yours are destroyed
like ours were here.
And then in the back,
since this is an Avalanche,
these are coil sprung in the rear.
So, you probably can't see it now,
but Lawson will gets some pictures.
There's gonna be the coil
spring spacers up here.
It was on the bench before you saw it.
And that's going to lift
the rear of the truck an
inch and a half overstock,
so you're doing three inches up front,
inch and a half in the rear.
And then the extended
sway bar links as well.
Because these coil sprung
trucks are kind of sketchy
once they're lifted,
so you definitely want to have
the rear sway bar on there.
And no shocks or anything like that
because each kit used the shock extension
that we mentioned earlier.
You can see it here.
So that you can reuse
the factory length shock
and then you're not gonna overextend it
or anything like that.
And that's pretty much gonna be it
for the three and a
half inch Rough Country
for '07 and up Avalanches.
Peace.

2009-2014 Chevy Escalade Avalanche Silverado Suburban Tahoe Sierra Yukon Cold Air Intake Airaid MXP
JEGS Performance:
Hey, we're back with another edition of AIRAID
TV. And today we're excited to show you our
MXP Series Cold Air Intake System for the
2007 through 2012 Cadillac, Chevrolet, and
GMC trucks and SUV. Now come on over, and
let's take a look at what comes with our kit.
We have our one-piece fully roto-molded complete
air box, roto-molded intake tube, 1700-CFM
washable and reusable air filter, urethane
coupler, urethane hump hose, six inch velocity
stack, blade style weather strip, and our
hardware pack, with detailed step-by-step
installation instructions, and everything
needed for complete installation.
Now it's time to remove the factory intake
system, and I'm gonna start with the intake
tube. I'm gonna remove the factory breather
line, loosen the hose clamp at the throttle
body, at the mass airflow sensor, and at the
air box. Let's get that tube out of the truck.
Now that the intake tube has been removed,
we can set aside the mass airflow sensor,
and now remove our factory air box. This air
box is held in only by grommets, so I'm gonna
rock it back and forth and remove.
Now it's time to take out the factory mounting
plate. I'm gonna loosen the four 10-millimeter
bolts, and remove.
Now it's time to install our AIRAID Cold Air
Intake system. I've already gone ahead and
installed our 6-inch velocity stack. Now let's
put the box in the truck. You just want to
align the box and tighten down the factory
hardware.
Now it's time to reinstall the factory mass
airflow sensor. For 2007 and 2008 trucks,
you'll take your factory mass airflow sensor
and slide it right over our filter adapter.
For 2009 through 2012 trucks, you'll receive
this filter adapter that has a provision for
your mass airflow sensor.
Now it's time to install our AIRAID intake
tube. I've already gone ahead and installed
our barb fitting, our urethane coupler, and
our urethane hump hose. Now let's put the
tube on the truck. And you just want to align
the tube, and tighten down with the hose clamps
provided.
Now it's time to install our AIRAID premium
filter. You just want to slide it over the
velocity stack, and tighten down with the
hose clamp provided.
Now it's time to install our blade style weather
strip. You just want to press firmly against
the box, and remember to keep the flap out.
Well, our installation's almost complete.
You just want to double check and make sure
all your hose clamps are nice and snug, reinstall
that factory breather line, and reinstall
your factory beauty cover. Now let's hear
how this baby sounds.
Well, thanks for joining us today. Be sure
and check us out on the web at airaid.com
and follow us on Facebook, and let us know
that you like us. We'll see you next time
on AIRAID TV.

Last 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Black Diamond Edition for Gail and Steve presented by Scott Colan of H
Handy Chevrolet:
Hi Gail and Steve Scott Colan from Saint Albans
Vermont Handy Chevrolet I know I promised
you a quick video on the 2013 Avalanche it
is the Commemorative edition the black diamond
edition to mark its final year in production
so I wanted to point out a couple of things
in the front here, first off you have the
matching front and rear bumpers to the color
of the body you also have the chrome grille
and you have the fog lights okay so you've
got everything nice color match nicely with
the chrome
and then if you notice you have 20 inch polished
aluminum wheels okay real nice feature that
really accentuates the Avalanche plus you
have the 6 inch chrome assist steps and up
top you notice you've got your power heated
mirrors with the signal already inside the
mirror itself plus they are power folding
which makes things convenient
and on the roof you have the luggage rack
and an electric power sun roof makes things
nice on a summer day so in your center console
you have your climate and audio controls.
Your radio which comes with Sirius XM as well
as the opportunity to listen to through an
auxiliary port such as an MP3 player and in
the hidden away in the center console is the
USB port so you can actually have some music
on a thumb drive you have dual climate control
features there plus you have two DC power
outlets your pedal controls so you can adjust
the pedals you can turn your rear park assist
off and your traction control off when necessary
plus the best part about this is it comes
with Bose speakers and you get to listen to
your favorite radio station such as mine right
now which is the Billy Joel channel now you
have high back leather bucket seats that are
both heated so that will be a nice comfortable
ride for you and if you look on the you have
the power adjustments both driver and passenger
electronic auto track with rotary dial control
so you can dial your four wheel drive or two
wheel drive or 4 wheel low and if you look
a little bit below that there is integrated
trailer brake so if you are towing something
you've got that your steering wheel is leather
wrapped with the cruise audio and Bluetooth
control mounted on the steering wheel Thank
you for taking the time to view the video
I hope you found it informative don't forget
its the last one of its kind I tried to make
it unique to this vehicle I know you already
have an avalanche but I wanted to make it
unique to this and don't forget any questions

here's an example of an episode you missed last
week
This Dirt Everyday
Extra, it's the
return of the Ultimate Avalanche you
guys remember this from when we went
snow racing in it this truck has been
around the block and we went snow racing
and completely destroyed it not really
completely but we did destroy a lot of
things the front bumper got some big
gashes in it rubbed all the paint off
from squeezing around trees the tires
did pretty did really good in the snow
but we did gouge them a little bit on
the firewall here the fenders where it
was rubbing it full stuff the brakes are
leaking it seems like one of the brake
lines runs really close to the shock
tower and they either touched or rubbed
or something and now I don't have very
good brakes in one end of the truck so I
need to redo some hard lines we replaced
three of the four doors the doors are
pretty similar they're basically a Chevy
truck or suburban door so I just got
four black doors so now we have almost
all new doors on the truck I put some
new taillights in I found some
taillights this type of body damage here
I'm not really that concerned about the
truck had that before and it just kind
of adds character Plus this truck is
just going to be it's always going to be
kind of an ugly beater truck but we try
to make it at least we can close the
doors and turn on the air conditioning
for when we're bombing around the desert
this is a problem so this door got
really hammered and we actually couldn't
even open the door to take the old door
off so we ended up like cutting out the
outer skin of the door prying it out of
the way undoing all the latches and
beating the door open so we got the door
off then when I had the new door and
went to put it on I realized that the
hinges did not line up there's actually
two hinges there's this one and there's
this one yeah so this would sit in here
like this
so the hinges all need to be in line the
bottom one is no longer in line with the
top one and I decided you know what if
we can just get the door to sit on the
top hinge then at least I can close
or seal it up and figure out how we're
going to fix this so we got medieval on
the thing we cut this whole hinge out
and hoping that we could hang the door
just on the top hinge well it turns out
this is all warped the entire b-pillar
is not straight anymore so the whole
bead pillar is going to have to be cut
out and replaced all new hinges put in
or patched and squared up so basically
now I have a three door avalanche I'm
trying to figure out how we're going to
do this I'm looking for another B pillar
I have a buddy from a body shop that's
going to come look at it and give me a
professional opinion because my amateur
opinion got me a giant hole cut in the B
pillar and I'm still sitting here with a
truck that has no door all the squirrels
and rats and everything I live in the
neighborhood want to come live in here
so that is most of the damage but
there's more underneath here and it's
kind of hard to see the entire frame is
warped a combination of hitting the rock
slider is hitting the front suspension
hitting the frame has kind of bowed out
the frame rails right underneath the cab
and my same friend that has the body
shop that's going to look at this B
pillar he's going to come give me an
idea of what it would take to straighten
that do we need to put it on the frame
rack can we just like heat it and beat
it and clamp it and try to get it
straight or is all to an avalanche on
the chopping block I got these doors
pretty inexpensive from a friend of mine
so I'm not really concerned about the
investment I've already put into
repairing it but it may be eventually
time to pull all this drivetrain out the
really cool big 8.1 liter the 4L 80 the
Atlas transfer case high pinion dyno
track front axle 14 bolt in the rear all
the nice bypass shocks spring under
leafs all the five link suspension pull
everything out and put it in something
new at one point I considered doing a
body swap on this frame like put a
suburban body or another avalanche body
on this frame now with the frame being
bent and who knows what it's going to
take to fix that everything's an option
at this point
cut it all up throw it all away sell it
as it is start over put it on something
new cool and different what do you think
I should do send me a message on
Facebook at the Dirt Every Day Facebook
page say Fred you should do this to the
Avalanche and if it says give it to me
I'm probably not going to do that I'm
probably going to keep it and put it in
something because I'm dumb and I like to
keep all my trucks but give me some
ideas of what you would like to see
maybe we will bring the Avalanche back
again for the third or fourth time and
stuff it all into something else or
maybe we'll just fix it and throw our
cooler in the back go to Baja and have a
good time if you need more Dirt Every
