2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray: The Best Sports Car | Edmunds Top Rated 2020

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray: The Best Sports Car | Edmunds Top Rated 2020

Edmunds:

[MUSIC PLAYING]

ALISTAIR WEAVER: By changing
the formula of America's most
iconic sports car, Chevy took a
big risk, but one that we think
will pay huge dividends.
The 2020 Corvette
Stingray offers
an unbeatable combination
of performance and value.
In moving the engine
from under the hood
to behind the
cockpit, the Corvettes
gain the kind of poise,
agility, and balance
you'd expect from
an exotic super car.
And that engine is a naturally
aspirated V8, the only one
still available in a
mid-engine sports car.
It's super responsive and
delivers a deep bass rumble
when you jump on the throttle.
CARLOS LAGO: The Corvette
nails the performance figures
and the driving
experience, but it does so
with a base price
that's just $60,000.
And Chevy isn't
sneaking one by either.
Adding the options to make the
one you actually want to get
and the one Edmunds has on order
bumps that price to $75,000.
And the Corvette is
a highly usable car
during the commute, an often
overlooked but crucial part
of sports car ownership.
The ride isn't just
comfortable enough,
it's borderline luxurious.
When you take it
to a racetrack, you
find it has responsive
steering and nimble handling,
and a transmission that rivals
sports cars costing twice as
much.
With the 2020 Corvette
Stingray, Chevy hasn't just
built another sports car.
It's delivered a thrilling
driving experience
with super car presence
at a real world price.

Small SUV: 2015 Chevrolet Trax Review, Test Drive and Specs

Small SUV: 2015 Chevrolet Trax Review, Test Drive and Specs

CarPreview.com Expert Car Reviews:

The 2015 Chevrolet Trax is the best car for
you if you're a member of Generation Y -- as
in, "why would I want a regular car?"
New to Chevy's US lineup, the Trax competes
in a rapidly expanding new category - the
subcompact crossover SUV. It's aimed at young
buyers on a budget who want the room, maybe
the all-wheel-drive, but certainly the image,
most subcompact cars can't provide.
Is it right for you? I'm Chuck Giametta. Join
me for a CarPreview video review of the 2015
Chevrolet Trax.
[music intro]
Already on sale in more than 60 other countries,
Trax arrives here to compete with the Nissan
Juke and the new Fiat 500X, Honda HR-V, Jeep
Renegade, and Mazda CX-3. Toyota and Hyundai
may also be considering entries, and the popular
Kia Soul is in the mix, too, though it stands
out by not offering all-wheel drive.
All these crossovers are a size smaller than
compact SUVs like the Ford Escape and Honda CRV.
And with prices starting in the low-$20,000
range, they're less expensive too.
Buick already sells an upscale version of
this Chevy. The Encore is almost identical
beneath the skin, though it costs about four-thousand-dollars more and offers features the new Chevy doesn't,
like leather upholstery and a power memory
driver's seat.
That doesn't mean the Trax is bare-bones.
Chevy knows the target audience and makes
available a tasty menu of digital features,
including 4G LTE connectivity that makes this
a rolling Wi-Fi hotspot.
That should appeal to shoppers the automaker
will try to reach exclusively through social
media and experiential marketing. Trax won't
be advertised on TV; Chevy believes this active,
urban demographic doesn't watch traditional
television.
The midline LT model should account for about
two-thirds of sales. Like the base LS and
top-line LTZ versions, it comes with a seven-inch
touchscreen and Chevy's MyLink hands-free interface.
iPhone owners can use it to talk with Siri.
And anyone can contract with AT&T for high-speed
4G LTE service that enables wireless Internet
access for onboard tablets, laptops and the like.
GM's well-designed OnStar assistance is standard.
It can provide verbal directions, but downloading
the BringGo navigation app puts real GPS mapping
on the touchscreen.
LT and LTZ models have remote engine start.
Lane-departure warning isn't offered, but
every Trax comes with a rearview backup camera.
And to the usual cocoon of airbags Trax adds
standard torso-protecting rear side airbags.
All versions of the Trax use the same engine:
a small turbocharged four-cylinder also found
in the Encore and in Chevy's Cruze and Sonic
small cars. The only transmission is a six-speed automatic.
Front-wheel drive is standard. Chevy thinks
just under half the buyers will opt for all-wheel
drive. It's a basic system, meant mostly for
traction in snow.
It adds fifteen-hundred dollars to the price
of an LT or LTZ. It's a fifteen-hundred-eighty-dollar
option for the LS because it replaces 16-inch
steel wheels with the LT's 16-inch alloys.
Exclusive to the LTZ are 18-inch alloys.
Road manners are a fine match for Trax's role
as a city and suburban crossover.
At just over 9 seconds, the zero-to sixty
sprint is on the slow end of the spectrum.
Turbo lag causes momentary delay from a dead
stop. But there's surprising scoot after that,
and you won't lack confidence to pass slower
traffic or merge onto a freeway.
Highway cruising is stable and a high seating
position and good outward visibility invite
you to exploit this crossover's impressive
low-speed maneuverability.
But fast cornering triggers lots of body lean
and noseplow. The LTZ's low-profile tires
contribute to slightly better grip and response
but they don't absorb bumps nearly as well
as the 16s.
Every Trax suffers some choppiness on broken
pavement, but the LS and LT ride more comfortably
than most vehicles this size, no matter the
category.
That friendly but less-than-sporty performance
is reflected in the styling.
Chevy tacks on simulated skid plates and dresses
up the LTZ with big wheels. But Trax is shorter
in length than a Honda Civic, yet taller than
a Subaru Outback, so it's saddled with some
chunky proportions. It's a success inside,
though.
The tall body pays dividends in a fairly spacious
cabin. You sit upright with good headroom.
Rear-seat room is very good for a vehicle
this size. The door openings aren't terribly
wide, but we suspect the older among us will
appreciate that you can just step in without
having to climb up or drop down.
Nothing in the cabin feels cut-rate. LTs are
upholstered in a pleasing blend of cloth and
leatherette while the LTZ's full leatherette
is a fair imitation of real leather. Both
get a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The dashboard is well-organized, though the
analog tachometer and digital display for
speed and other readouts is a little hokey.
Storage is a highlight, with dual gloveboxes
and plenty of bins, drawers, and crannies.
Cargo volume behind the rear seat is about
average for this class. Most rivals exceed
Trax's 48.4 cubic feet with the rear seat
dropped, but a folding front passenger seatback
lets you haul objects eight-feet long.
As for pricing, an LTZ with every option is
twenty-eight-thousand five-hundred dollars,
well into compact-class territory. But the
average Trax should retail for around twenty-three-five.
That's your "why not" alternative to a subcompact
car.
Trax won't compete with the Honda HR-V or
Mazda CX-3 as eye candy. And extroverts will
still head for the Nissan Juke.
But its middle-of-the-road approach appeals
to a range of buyers looking for something
a little different in a little package.

My New Chevy C30 Crew Cab Dually Shop Truck

The Fab Forums:

whats up fabrication nation we are as
I alluded to you in a previous episode
we are on our way to add a new vehicle
to the family like like we need another
vehicle
but whatever were gonna make it happen
there isn't a back
I havent really mentioned what it is we're
going to get so if you've been a long time
viewer of channel you see a long time ago
I did a video of a 71
chevy dually, not 100 percent because trucking
awareness but I did that stroke going to
get we're driving to Nasheville to meet the
guy that owns the truck he's actually coming
from Arkansas I believe
gonna meet in Nashville, spend the night
and I think of the trunk of them also so
got like two hours left this ride
made it to the room staying at the
indigo Hotel in downtown Nashville this
place is cool but never stated thing to
go it's an old style hotel me over part
of downtown Nashville anyway
think today or this evening we're just
going to experience downtown life hang
out with the guy that owns the truck
currently and just do the Nashville
thing and then tomorrow hopefully we
won't feel too bad we'll get up do the
paperwork on the truck and then head to
the house
(music)
(more music)
(and even more music)
I totally over did it last night and now
im having to drive home feeling like crap
alright guys I made it made it back long five
hours when you hungover some Nashville
party but anyway so I'm going to show
you the truck I'm just going to kind of
do a walk around real quick show you the
truck kind of show you where it is right
now maybe give you some ideas of what I
plan on doing with it immediately and
maybe in the future and I don't have a
name for it either so it's got any good
ideas as far as a name for this thing
let me know it's currently called the
Hughley because I got it I got it from
his name with Hugh and good name but you
need something with some more character
so anyway a roll pan
its got the Alcoa's already on it got four
buckets we've got four bucket seats
things these things are out of like it's
kind of import maybe like a Integra or
something and actually not that bad
there feel pretty comfortable I think
will be cool
maybe find one more of these and then
have like three buckets in the rear and
two in the front maybe have them
recovered some kind of fabric that kind
of ties into the theme of truck maybe
like a all gray with red something I
don't know
front same thing got the dual bucket the
front and
like I said maybe I don't know maybe
some kind of red and gray combo or like
a burgundy and gray combo where con ties
with the red there's the - there so this
truck is a 78 78 and so the first thing
I want to do obviously is I want to fix
the - so probably going to do a - cover
redo the gauges do some painting of the
needles and the bezel itself kind of
like I did on the Black Pearl I'll do
that the truck may get carpet like run
off the bat may go with like a dark grey
carpet or or black and really like the
two big things I'm going to do right you
know right from the hit besides just
cleaning that color thing so like I said
78 78 trucks are obviously carbureted I
think most of them are like big blocks
this is not this has a lt1 swap in it it
was done by the guy who built the truck
who actually lives locally that's how I
knew about this truck I actually wanted
it when he had it he sold it to the guy
that I got it from the guy that I got it
from headed in Texas and Arkansas and
all over the country and decided to sell
it and so anyway doesn't look too bad
under here just probably clean up a
little bit
paint some of the stuff that needs to be
painted
all the modern amenities have been
transferred to this truck in a way that
actually looks pretty factory so they
did a good job
AC and this truck works amazing got the
Corvette covers on the lt1 those those
motors came in Corvette but I don't
think that one cannot have a Corvette I
think it's the UH Caprice or something
and I just put the covers on it
nonetheless is cool the front got the
bulbs
alright guys there you go the Hughley
and upon change your name on it
y'all give me with give me some names
that you can think of that kind of match
the theme of this truck and kind of go
with all the other stuff that I do kind
of has honestly a theme but all the
names let's use for my other rides they
seem like they kind of go together so I
don't know anyway let me know what you
think on the name it's a great truck
great bones drives really well AC heat
you know it's got all the amenities it's
going to be great for the family I'm
going to put the whole family in there
we're gonna build a ride and should
should be a good tow rig too so possibly
going to get a trailer and we can you
know haul the visitor haul the the goose
and may at one point maybe do like a LS
like a 62 swap or I don't know maybe a
coming swap in it I don't know I'm not
going to worry about that right now I'm
just going to drive it kind of do put my
little touch on it a little bit and just
enjoy it for now anyway there you go the
new addition like I said it's been a
long two days feeling it right now but
let me know what you think

This classic car's dealer has a great showroom!

1938 Chevrolet Master 85 Series by Danny Rodriguez - LOWRIDER Roll Models Ep. 27

1938 Chevrolet Master 85 Series by Danny Rodriguez - LOWRIDER Roll Models Ep. 27

lowridermagazine:

- People find out that what I do,
they kind of like, "No way."
I don't change my style.
The way you see me is the way I dress.
I wear my glasses because that's who I am
because they know what
I do and how I do it
and I am very successful.
(intro music)
My name is Danny Rodriguez
and I'm from Bakersfield, California.
My family calls me Abby.
When I was about two years old,
I didn't know how to say my name right
because my full name was
Danny Albert Rodriguez.
So when they asked me
what my middle name was,
I would say Danny Abby Rodriguez,
so everybody in this family
and my friends and stuff,
they all know me as Abby.
(upbeat music)
I have a 1938 four door sedan.
It's a Master 85 series.
It's a little under the Master Deluxe.
It's two-tone beige;
dark beige, light beige.
It has tweed interior.
It has a 350 four watt main, 350 turbo.
Some of the options I
have are like the visor.
I put the skirts.
I did the passing eye light.
I also have a swamp cooler.
They're really hard to find nowadays
because most of the them that you find,
they're usually rusted out
or they're all beat up
and this one I found in San Diego
up by Chicano Park and
it was in good condition.
The wheels are replicas of
the original artillery wheels
back in the 40s; they're repops.
They look just like the originals.
The reason why I had to go with the repops
is because the bow pattern
for the newer type of frames
are usually five, five on
four and three quarter,
so I ended up going with repops
because I didn't want to go with the six
because I had changed the frame already.
The toppers that we have

on the license plate,
we had specially made.
I have the Lowrider emblem.
I have our icon from Classic Dreams
with Felix the Cat on it.
This is a 1938.
The hood emblem is a little different.
I like the '39 hood emblem,
so I decided to go with the '39
because my vision of it was
pieces that I liked on it.
I like what I see and I love that '39,
so I put that '39 hood emblem right on it.
Master 85s did not have a lot of chrome.
They were a plain jane.
The difference between the
Master 85s and Master Deluxe is
there is more chrome on the Master Deluxe.
The back windows, they roll
back on the Master Deluxe
but on the Master 85s, they
don't; they're stationary.
It's all upgraded.
It's a daily driver, so I had
to do a lot of upgrades on it
because it's always on the road.
And that's what I love about it
because I can take it anywhere
I want without hesitation.
I've had it since 1990.
Some friends knew that I was
looking for that year, a 1938,
that year has a lot for me
because of the referencing
to my dad and my mom
were born in 1938.
When I finally found it,
it was like half a shell.
There was no front end, nothing.
It was complete frame
and half a body on it.
Took it home and showed it to my daughter
and she was out there checking it out
and she goes, "I want
this car," so I told her,
"Well, you're going to
have to help me build it."
When I do a car, all my kids are with me.
They'll help me sand.
They'll help me do any
little thing that I need,
they're there for me; my family.
I have five kids.
I have three girls and two boys.
Basically all my cars I've put together,
it's always about my
family helping me out.
I was born in Porterville, California.
I was actually raised in Bakersfield.
We was tight little community, you know,
in Bakersfield and I loved it.
It's really great.
My dad was born in Porterville
and my mom was born in Delano
and they met by my mom's brothers,
who my dad used to pick
them up from school
and go cruising all the time.
So he used to pick up the brothers
and when he met my mom, he fell in love.
I have one brother and one sister.
When my sister was born, she
was born with brain damage.
She turned into an epileptic.
She was only two.
I was the oldest.
I seen what she was going through
and it really, really hurt me
because that was my baby sister
and that's the only one I've ever had.
My sister was the special one.
We almost lost her at about three
but some miracle, and with prayer,
she came out of it but with
more brain damage than thought.
I just wanted to take care of her.
She was special-ed.
She went to special classes.
She went to Rafer Johnson Special Olympics
and she won an award for swimming.
It was really nice.
She got the gold medal
and the celebrities that
gave her the gold medal
were Rafer Johnson himself
and Barbara Streisand.
She kind of grew up, you know,
and she kind of wanted
to do things on her own
and she did function, really good
but I lost her three years ago
due to diabetes.
It runs in our family really bad.
I miss her a lot.
She's always been a part of my life.
I did try to show her
to drive a car one time
and she wrecked it. (laughs)
It was my Delmont (laughs)
but I always remember her.
She'll always be in my heart.
I liked to help my sister all the time
because I knew that she needed help
and so all those volunteer
times that I put in with her,
and what she going through,
what other kids were going through,
when I seen that and I go,
"Wow, these kids need a lot of help,"
and that got me to thinking,
"Wow, maybe this my calling."
I decided to be a teacher in special-ed,
working with special-ed kids:
autistic, mild/moderate,
moderate/severe disabilities.
I love it.
I see these kids.
They need help.
These students of mine, they're special
and I wouldn't change
my career for the world.
I'm a special-ed teacher for
Bakersfield School District.
I love my job.
I've been there for like 23 years
helping special-ed kids;
helping them achieve their
goals and objectives.
It's really a fascinating
thing, to see them grow up,
and to see them accomplish something.
You know what I mean?
I've had kids that were totally disabled,
they couldn't even read or
write or sometimes talk,
but I knew what they were saying.
I could feel them and know
exactly what they needed
and what they wanted.
The most rewarding part of my profession
is actually seeing students
achieve their goals;
to see them be successful.
A lot of people don't think that kids
are going to amount to anything
but they can with a lot of love,
a lot of affection, and a lot of patience,
they can reach that goal and
succeed and be something.
And I want that for these kids.
I belong to a Classic Dreams car club.
I'm one of the founding members of it
and it's been around since '75.
We're a family club.
We do a lot of fundraising.
We work with school districts.
We work with the Crippled
Children's Society.
We work for Ronald McDonald House.
That's what it's about;
helping (inaudible) out.
When there's a need, they come to us.
That's what we do, we help out.
I feel that the way society is right now
and the way things are going,
we have to all come together
and help one another out.
Help our students out.
Help our kids out.
Unity within the families is what we need.
We need to pull together instead of apart
and keep ahold of what we have
but we do got to recognize
that there are people
out there that need help
and we need to have an
understanding and help them.
Know what I mean?
In any way we can.
My name is Danny Abby Rodriguez
and I'm a special-ed teacher
and I'm a Lowrider Role Model.

2020 Chevy Equinox: FULL REVIEW | 2020 Updates Put Safety at the Forefront!

2020 Chevy Equinox: FULL REVIEW | 2020 Updates Put Safety at the Forefront!

Car Confections:

What's going on YouTube?
Now everyone knows that the Silverado is the best-selling chevy model
but what a lot of people forget about is this equinox is also a great selling vehicle as
A matter of fact this year sales increase has it nipping at the heels of the rogue and CRV
That's why today we're taking a look at the latest 2020 version at Sutherland Chevrolet in Nicholasville, Kentucky
Of course if you're in the market for any new Chevy be sure to stop by their showroom or visit them via their website
which we provided a link to in the video description, so

With that all said, let's see if Chevy has made any changes in this year
So kicking things off with the exterior styling
There is one update right off the bat and that's this new midnight blue metallic paint color
Which as you can see is a very dark shade of blue
Other than that the front design does carry over unchanged this year
So for the premiere you have this fully chrome finished grille and on the other trims you have black bars with just the crumbs around
The other important premiere difference are these full LED headlights as
Opposed to the HIDs on the LT and the halogens on all the rest
In a separate housing down below you have the turn signal and for the premiere only the halogen fog lights
as
Far as the rest of the styling it continues with the same look for 2020 with the signature elements like the wraparound rear window
These tail lights also have the same design across all of the trims except for the LED elements that are premiered exclusive
and
Then finally at the bottom you have a single hidden exhaust outlet unless you go for the more powerful 2-liter turbo model
So all in all the equinox has a conservative design that looks handsome and will continue to age very gracefully
Now while the main part of the design has not changed there are some wheel updates for 2020
the biggest change is the fact that these
18-inch wheels on the premier now do without the black contrast inserts from last year, which does now give them a more subdued look
There are also some optional 19-inch wheels on this 1.5 liter model or standard on the 2-liter model
But otherwise you're going to be looking at 17 inch alloys as standard across the other three trips
Moving on up to the mirrors they come in three different finishes
Black body colored or chrome reserved for the premiere along with auto dimming abilities and standard blind spot monitoring
All models however, do get heating
And now that brings us to probably the most important change for
2020 and that's that most of the advanced safety systems are now standard across the entire
Equinox line up instead of just being optional on the premier
That means that even the base LS comes with forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection
Lane Keeping Assist and Auto high beam headlights and
Then the premiere also has the option of adding adaptive cruise control
This is definitely a great addition to the lineup especially since the base price has not changed
Well it pretty much finishes up everything to look at on the exterior, so now let's go ahead and check out the cabin
So unlike a lot of the rivals the equinox does actually give you Chevy's smart entry system standard across the board
And if you ought for the premiere you go get remote start on the file, or as an option on the LT
Now to get inside the vehicle itself there is not a sensor behind the handle so you just press the little button
All right
So checking out the cabin of the 2020 equinox
As you can probably tell there have not been any significant changes to the interior this year
That doesn't mean you'll continue to be presented with these same color options and materials as last year
So for your L and LS that's gonna be a cloth seat in medium
Ash gray only there if you go for the LT it does come shared with the same cloth
But you can option on leather and you can also get the additional color. Um jet black
Now when you go for this premiere
This is where you have standard real leather and jet black this ash gray combination or a special brandy color
Now turning over here to your door trim, it is very nicely finished
So you have this nice piece of leather that goes all through here and up to the top
Your driver's window is OneTouch auto up and down all the others are just Auto down
Towards your memory seats these two-person memory seats do come standard on the premier only
Now heading down to the see here the LT and the premiere do come standard with this 10-way power adjusting seat
And then the other models come with a six-way manual seat instead
And like I was saying here on the premiere we have the real leather seats
They feel very nice and they also look very good. I like the color contrast
So you basically have the jet black accents around the side and then the gray in the middle
So as far as the materials of the cabin they do carry over this year
So across the upper dash this will always be hard touch plastic across all the trim levels
but when you go for a higher-end model like this premiere we have this really nice piece of leather at
Two different types, so you've got the plain and then also the perforated and the real stitching to connect them
Your lower areas are hard touch, but everything does fit together very nicely
Standard across every Equinox is push button start
When you press it, you'll see one of two different displays fire up
On this premiere. We have the 8 inch display and on all the other trims. You will come standard with a 7 inch display instead
I'm checking out the gauges here. This is the premium arrangement with the larger multifunction display now starting last year
Chevy did bring this down to the LT. So it's on both the LT and the premier
And basically it just has the larger 4.2 inch multi-function display and you can scroll through all the different types of information
Including through different things like safety systems if you do have them equipped
Now coming back to the steering wheel
It is electric power assisted and the steering wheel is wrapped in leather if you go for the premiere
Or as an option on the LT
Now you do have your buttons for your cruise controls where some of your safety systems
And we also have the optional heating here on this premiere on this side
You get your phone voice and then your buttons for your multi-function display
As far as the steering wheel itself, it does manually tilt and telescope
Now moving on to interior storage this is one area where the equinox really thrives compared to the rivals
So starting out here with your center console
This is honestly bigger than just about anything in the class
I don't know if the camera can fully see this but this goes down like a foot and a half
Time does have a nice little pad down at the bottom. But this is like I said definitely bigger than most of the competition
You've also got two USB ports in there
Then we close that off. We got another storage cubby right here our two cupholders and
Then a really large console up here. You can stick your phone
This pad here does serve as a wireless phone charger if you go for the premier
And then back there you can see a regular USB port a USB type-c and aux track and a 12-volt outlet
Now Chevy has been able to give you that much space without going to the electronic shifter like its sibling the GMC Terrain has
So this just has a regular shifter you just pull back for drive. You can't shift manually with these little toggles here
But you will not find paddle shifters on any of the bottles
Now when we head into reverse, you'll see one of the other standout features of the equinox and that's this
360-degree camera system that's optional in the premiere through the convenience package -
This is one of the best systems in the industry, it's General Motors latest high-resolution camera system
Like in the Silverado. So basically you've got default in your 360 view and your traditional back view
But you have tons and tons of other views
So as you can see, we can cycle through all these different things including a trailer view this kind of three-dimensional look side. We use
And you can turn on and off your lines as well
Basically, like I said overall it's one of the best
360-degree camera systems in the industry right now and it is available here on equinox
And then back behind the shifter you do have an electronic parking brake
I'm moving on up to the climate controls. This is the dual zone automatic setup that comes standard on the premier only
However, you can option that this onto the LT through the confidence and convenience package
but of course as you can see
This is very simple to use you. Just have these two easy knobs to adjust the temperature
And then all your other buttons are laid out physically here for you to press though
They do pop-out redundantly up here on the display to you know, show you what you've selected
As far as the seat climate controls
three-stage heated seats come standard on the premier and
then the three stage ventilation ventilated seats that we have they come in the convenience and confidence package -
That's a premier only option
All right
And now that brings us up here to our audio system
Now every single model does come standard with a six speaker system throughout the entire lineup
However on the premiere you can option on the bow system when you choose navigation, and that's what we have
So let's go ahead and take a sample
Style quality of this system is excellent. Definitely one of the best systems I've heard in this class
All right, so now that brings us up here to our Chevy infotainment 3 system this was updated last year to the latest software
So we'll just go ahead and take a real quick look through the system. So what you're looking at here is the home screen you
Have these little tiles that you can click on that can take you as a shortcut button there
you also have the little shortcut buttons along the bottom that you can real quickly toggle between
Now I just hit the highlights here. One of them is going to be our models navigation system. This is optional on the premier
And like I already mentioned it does come with the Bose audio system as well. So
This is General Motors newest map display as you can see it is a very nice graphics
it's also very responsive to pinch-to-zoom and other types of motions and you can even do
Interesting things like change the tilt with three fingers kind of like Google Maps
now the other main thing I want to mention is that
Even if you choose the base models that come with the lower-end system and the smaller display
Those also come with apple carplay and android auto just like this one
So rest assured even if you do not get integrated navigation, which the majority of models will not have integrated navigation
You will still be able to access Google Maps or Apple maps through apple carplay or Android auto
But anyways, that's a real quick discussion of some of the main features of this system
However, we do have a dedicated tech tech help video available
For those of you who want to learn more a link to that video is in the description
I'm moving on up
We do have an auto-dimming mirror on the premier or option on the LT and that comes with three Universal home link remotes as well
And one thing you'll notice missing from this model is a moonroof
It's because Chevy does not offer a standard size moonroof
You have to choose the panoramic one, which is available as an option on both the LT and premiere
But obviously we don't have that option checked off
But overall the cabin of the Chevy Equinox continues to be a very pleasant place to spend time
The redesign that they did in 2018, really
Amplified and made this cabin a lot more pleasant of a place a lot more luxurious
And you definitely have all the features to make it a very class competitive environment
But anyways now go ahead and hand it off to my brother Mason who would check out all the back areas
Already so heading around to the 2020 equinoxes mercy
You are going to find a really large amount of space even for its class
You'll find 40 inches of rear legroom and 39 inches of rear headroom
Which does place it above the main rivals like the Toyota rav4 and on par with the Honda CRV
Now turning over here to the door trim. We do have a really nice one
so it is leather wrapped all the way through here and
It does have a nice color contrast stitching going through here
And you do have a power window now down below that we do some bottle storage
And as far as the seats themselves, they are that beautiful color contrast design. So you do a black on the outside
Grey on the inside and they do also recline
Now here in the center area Chevy has given us some very nice features as standard equipment
So you do have these rear air vents and standard equipment across all of the trim levels and down below that you will also
notice our heated rear seats
which are optional in the premier trim and
Down below that you will also find two smart charging USB ports and on this high-end model
We do also have a household style outlet down below that
Now here in the center we do have a fold up armrest with covers inside
and
Off to the left here. We have LED lighting and an assist grip and
like I mentioned
Before this is one of the largest offerings in the class and that definitely shows behind drew seating position
I have about I would say at least a foot of space
Between my knees in the seat back, which is very impressive and my feet can easily slide up on the seat
So hitting around to the tailgate of the equinox
It is standard hands-free power on the premier trim or it's optionally just regular power on the LT
So to open it just wave your foot under the bumper
Now once inside the equinoxes trunk
You are gonna find a little bit smaller space than you would in most of the rivals
You'll find 30 cubic feet of space behind the second row seats
And if you fold them it expands to 64 cubic feet now
Like I said, that is a little bit smaller than a lot of the main offerings like the Honda CRV and Toyota rav4
However, Chevy does finish it very nicely back here
So you do have a carpeted floor board and underneath of the floor. We do have a little bit more storage space
It actually goes all the way to the very back and it's probably eight inches deep
Now off to the side you will find the controls do fold the seats
So if you just grab these little low lovers and pull and they do fold nice and flat
Now over here on the passenger seat it is optionally eight-way power in the premier trim
while the other trims do have a four-way manually adjusting
Now in front of the passenger you do have nice materials and down below that you will find a good sized glovebox
it is nicely dampened and
Up top, we have a Sun Visor with integrated lights and a mirror and it does also detach and exit
Well guys that sums up all the rear areas of this Equinox
So now let's go ahead and get on the road and see how that 1.5 liter turbo performs
All right, so let's go ahead and talk about the powertrain options
Now this vehicle unlike a lot of the competition actually has three different engine options
so what we have is the base option, that's the most common configuration is a 1.5 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder making
170 horsepower and 203 pala feet of torque and it is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission
now Chevy also offers a more powerful 2 liter four-cylinder engine and that makes 252 horsepower and
260 to pound-feet of torque and is paired with a 9 speed automatic transmission
And finally, there is also a diesel model now. I've heard some rumors. It's a little unclear
What trims are going to be offered with the diesel this coming up here
they're going to be eliminating some different configurations of it and it's not been EPA rated or anything yet for 2020, but
as a that what we've probably at 1.6 liter turbo diesel making
136 horsepower and 236 pounds of torque and that's routed through a 6-speed automatic transmission as well as
Far as your fuel economy the 1.5 liter with front-wheel drive gets 26 City 31 highway 28 combined
the 2-liter front-wheel drive is 22 city 29 highway 25 combined and
Then like I already mentioned that diesel does not have ratings at this time
But anyways that is it for the powertrain information so let's go ahead and see how it works on the road
so upon initial acceleration there
The equinox feels pretty good. This is a you know, small displacement engine, even for the class you usually the engines are
naturally aspirated or
a larger turbo
But it certainly doesn't feel too weak or anything
Yeah, I think it feels kinda competitive it's you know, it's not the most powerful one in the class or anything like that
But you know, it feels pretty class competitive here in the space form
And if you don't find that acceptable then it is worth noting that Chevy does have the 2-liter option if you want that
And it even even though it does cost a little bit more, you know
You have that option and that will put it at the top of its class in terms of comfort
That's right. Chevy is pretty unique in that
That's certainly not been
So we're cruising down the highway here at 55 MPH
Very smooth and very quiet
This is a really loud road I know from personal experience no matter what you drive on this road, usually it
a lot more Road roar than
Typical roads give you but this is handling it well, it's still hushed in here
I feel like I have a conversation at a
normal speaking voice
and
Then I also don't hear any wind noise whatsoever
Yeah, and her rides really really comfortably too you know it almost felt like we were sitting still, you know, I'm driving 55
I've been around in that corner there
You could definitely tell the equinox is a more luxury minded option compared to some of the rivals
and
The steering is very light
but of course that is typical
And you have a little bit of body roll. Nothing too bad. I'm going to like make your passenger's for sick or anything
But just enough to keep things real nice and comfortable like we already said it does ride very well. I mean we're up to
55 again I mean, I'm really really comfortable the seats are nice, you know, and it's quiet
Just very smooth we're about to hit the bridge here. Just very little makes it into the cabin it's almost pretty
uncharacteristic for the class to be that smooth
It really it kind of feels like a bigger car
I guess a big way to put it if it rides like it's a bigger and heavier
Vehicle what a lot
So overall, this is definitely a pleasant driving vehicle
You know the I don't really know exactly what to say about it. And I think that is actually a compliment in this class
because
It's not an exciting vehicle to drive. Sure
but
In this class of vehicle what you're looking for is that comfort that everyday you
Know driving abilities so you can just get in it Drive be comfortable
Have a nice experience each time, you know, and I think it really does that. Well, there's no characteristic of this that
Like there's no fatal flaw I guess is what I'm trying to say. It does everything well with
The driving experience and should be very satisfactory
All righty, and now let's go ahead and discuss the pricing for the 2020 Chevy Equinox
so for your very base L model that's going to start at twenty three thousand eight hundred dollars and
All of these prices are for the one point five liter turbo engine and front-wheel drive configuration
Then you have the LS one rung above that and that's going to come in at twenty six thousand three hundred dollars
Which is up four hundred over last year?
then one more rung up on that is the LT for twenty seven thousand five hundred which is up three hundred dollars and
Then you have the premier which is the fully loaded model
Which is what we have and that's gonna start at thirty one thousand four hundred dollars
Was which is also up three hundred dollars over last year
now if you want to opt for that 2-liter engine
That's going to be around twenty five hundred dollars extra and all wheel drive is an extra charge on top of that as well
now as far as how this particular
Equinox is equipped
We do have the premier trim with the 1.5 liter engine and optional all-wheel drive, and we do also have several options
packages checked off. So we have the confidence and convenience to package for
1650 as well as the
infotainment package for eleven twenty five and
Then we have the destination charge which has been raised this year from nine. Ninety five to eleven ninety five
So the price for this one as equipped comes in at thirty six thousand nine hundred and seventy dollars
Which is pretty class competitive
but it is worth noting that if you want to get it fully loaded it is going to be quite a bit more expensive than
a lot of the rivals
As you can tell we don't have a moonroof or anything like that and that is going to be additional charges
And it can you know go well over forty thousand in the upper trams with the higher end engine
Well guys we've enjoyed watching this first in-depth look at the
2020 Chevy Equinox
premiere
Pleased at those items and scribe buttons if you haven't already and we'll catch you next time as a sample more of the latest automotive
delicacies!

1990 Chevy Lumina : Regular Car Reviews

1990 Chevy Lumina : Regular Car Reviews

RegularCars:

Oh good, my baby sitter is here.
Chevy Lumina! It's a car from 1990 and it's quite a looker too. If you like "Let's Make a Deal".
1990 Chevy Lumina. The official car of walking into a Uni-Mart in the depths of January and saying
"Can I get a get a pack of Salem Slims, my Mom is just out in the car."
I know you're waiting for me to go full negative on this transparent attempt by General Motors
to convince your wood panel parents GM is "with it."
COOL! YEAH! DAYS OF THUNDER!
WE'RE GETTING A SATELLITE DISH!
And we've arrived once again at the W-Body platform from that musty old battleaxe that gave us the Buick Regal
and the Pontiac Grand Prix. It's the 1980's parking lot platform
the official car of "keep an eye on your brother while I run inside to the bank."
"I know it's hot, just roll down a window." This Lumina is on the first gen W-Body.
The type of car that if it was the family vehicle during your childhood,
you had no realistic expectation of having it handed to you as a teenager.
The Lumina is expensive engineering encased in a body that isn't nearly as gaudy.
That's because you're not meant to have it for very long.
It's the automotive equivalent of the common cold.
MY RECTUM IS A NATIONAL TRAGEDY SO MARKY-MARK IS GOING TO DO A MOVIE ABOUT IT!
The Chevy Lumina is the first 4-door sedan to be built off the W-Body platform.
The idea was to offer a reasonable mid-sized sedan that could exist as a middle-ground
between a family car and a more robust daily driver.
I mean hell, Chevrolet managed to get DISNEY and Disney MGM Studios to classify the Lumina
as it's "official company car" in 1990. There were brochures and everything about it.
Anyway. For the price of around $13,000 (which is roughly $24,000 in 2017)
General Motors had every expectation that this car would sell.
This particular Lumina is in really good shape!
It has 41,000 miles on it. And although it was purchased last march with 33,000 miles on it,
all things being equal, it held up well. It's powered by a 3.1 Liter V6 which makes 135 HP and 180 LB/FT of Torque
It's got a column mounted shifter, coil-over front suspension and a oh we gotta talk about the
*micro brain explosion* the rear.
Yeah we're just gonna come back to the rear on this.
Quick thing about the engine, the difference is the Lumina has a 3.1 liter V6.
Do you remember the Buick Century from a few weeks ago?
That had a 3.3 Liter V6. But the Lumina has a 4-Speed automatic where 4th is overdrive.
While the Buick has a 3-speed automatic with no overdrive. So, even though the Lumina has less displacement,
It can stay in the powerband longer. And with a slightly smaller engine, it can rev faster.
So the Lumina is faster than a Buick Century.
Ok. The rear suspension. Independent rear suspension. Yeah, it's kinda good for 1990
although the Civics had these it was fine. But it still uses a leaf spring.
And by that I mean a Leaf. Spring. Singular.
They built an independent rear-wheel suspension using one, solid, single, fiberglass leaf going across the car.
Look at that! The only other car known for having this is the Corvette and you can bet
that they oh they paraded this in front of the market.
IT HAS CORVETTE INSPIRED SUSPENSION.
Yeah it's the same principle that the Corvette used. Of course it's not the same part numbers. Even though it's the same design
Does it drive like a Corvette? No!
I mean if you didn't tell me that this thing had independent suspension in the back with the
with the weird transverse mounted singular modular fiberglass leaf spring, I wouldn't have known.
Does it handle sporty? Not really. You're too busy hanging onto that thin steering wheel
because it's a bent seat in the front and if you take a corner too fast you slide away from the steering wheel.
Anyway, Aaron bought this Lumina as a commuter car because his Saab was just one big money pit.
He was looking for just any sort of Craigslist beater and he found this
but wouldn't you know it, he started to fall in love with it!
So he had the thing detailed, he found new wheel covers, he painted them himself to match the original paint
He started to tap out dents. He really likes this thing.
I mean for one, it's very spacious on the inside. This is again before gigantic A-pillars so the visibility is amazing out of this thing.
The W-Body platform was a 7 Billion dollar investment for General Motors.
Initiated by Roger Smith, the guy so notoriously bad at business he'd probably try to sell
snow in late January to residents of Lower Heidelberg Township.
This car platform was expected to be a big money maker but General Motors lost $2000 on every unit.
So the platform was revised in subsequent years as the W-2 car because why not?
The platform that basically screams "My taxes are in the mail."
The blueprints for the Lumina are from the early 1980's so the car made sense for the era in which it was originally planned.
However, by the time it came out, it had a 7 year old design and you have to compare that with Ford.
And when you're competing against Ford you have to come correct.
Because the Ford Taurus was a bull. (Heh bad joke) It stampeded everything.
The Taurus was the American game changer car and the Lumina always played catch-up to that.
And even if the Taurus hadn't existed there was still the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry to deal with.
The market was rough for General Motors and the the Lumina didn't really help.
It's like trying to compete with Minute Maid Orange Juice by selling Dick Flavored Capri-Sun.
Not all the quirks about this car were endearing. Cracks developed on the clear coat pretty regularly which is basically the sign of cheap paint.
The battery, is encased beneath a structural support brace that you have to remove just to change your battery.
These cars weren't designed for ease of service. Between the complicated engine layout
and the trim pieces which just sorta come off in your hand due to shotty adhesive.
The trunk latch catch is right in the middle of where you try to slide suitcases.
So your luggage is going to get caught on that thing and rip it up. Aaand what was the #1 rental car for airports in the 90's?
CHEVY LUMINA! That's a nice set of Samsonite you got there. It'd be a shame if something happened to it...
The Lumina also had these huge seams. General Motors made no attempt to hide them.
It gave the appearance of a toy assembled by clicking different parts into place.
You know, like one of those snap-tight model planes because your kid is too spastic to deal with rubber cement.
"Ah, here's a, here's, here's a model, yeah it just snaps together. No, no, no, you, you don't need, yeah just snap it together."
The W-Body was the platform for cars that took you to the mall to try on clothes with mom.
You have to find an outfit for Aunt Margret's "thing" and it's 3 months away.
But oh we have to do it now and the first size never fits.
The universe just can't do you a solid. You have to try on the same wool blazer and itchy trousers,
for 7 GOD LOVING times before you can go to Electronics Boutique to try to salvage what's left of your Sunday afternoon.
But looking back where those Sundays all that bad?
It's strange, because you can never really appreciate those moments, in the moment.
To be a kid with your parents. To put on a stuffy outfit at Boscov's because it'll put a genuine smile
on her face and those don't come often enough.
The Chevy Lumina may not let you physically travel back in time, but the look and feel even *SNIIIIIFFFF* the smell of the Lumina
can help you remember a hundred different Saturday afternoons from your youth. Each with it's own merit.
The Chevy Lumina is an automotive save point. The Lumina takes you back to that memory file in your mind where all the Saturdays go.
Some of the saves have been corrupted but in the "what if" of your mind,
you get another chance to step out of that dressing room and say "Ok Mom. How do I look?"
In my family since age 4, but it's not my car because I'm grown.
Oooh ooo whoah
I want a Chevy of my own.
I close today. We're stuck at Sears.
Where Boscov's in the local mall.
My Mom won't let me out of heeeerrrrrrrrre.
